The staff are super friendly and asked multiple times if we needed help. I saw them helping other customers and seemed very knowledgeable. From friendly service to quite extensive stock this longstanding adult clothing, accessory, toys, books (in front) and informative info... This amazing little big emporium not just for the gay/bi/queer community but any with curiosity and for the city of Seattle as well known for being one of the most open and inclusive places in the State of Washington, but also in the world. I was lucky to stop in and support Doghouse during one of my yearly trips to the Evergreen state to catch up with my best friend and his husband and apparently us stopping in here was a must. I felt like because it was around midday and not to busy we got greeted and/or offered assistance by just about everyone in the store. They carry quite a variety of craftsmen custom leathers, shirts, shorts and things of the under garment nature... We all need support. D.L has some cool clearance and mark down items as well not to mention a great online shop. I ended up with a new Nasty Pig blue and orange mesh shirt that hugs the body just right... reminded me of some of the soccer and Rugby shirts I've seen and considering I'm hoping to join a Rugby league this summer it practically called out to me. The parking in the area during anytime of day can be a series of driving around the blocks, however it doesn't take up to much of your time and if you find a nice spot you have a good chunk of time to explore being that Doghouse sits near many coffee places, eateries and an Amazon Go store. While I'm not a leather person (the vegan in me)... Horrible experience! Walk in the door and they ask to hold my shopping bag. Ok sweet! Can easier check weight of whip and pick up a couple ropes. Then they want my purse! Say what!?!?! While trying to look around the store the medical device I wear starts vibrating which it will make a horrible loud alarm if I don't get back into range. So yeah I left. This place sits on a fairly quiet street with not a lot of thru traffic. The interior is rather large and boasts an extremely wide array of adult fun time items: from cock and ball rings, to dildos of all shapes and sizes (they even had an area for XL needs for those that are perhaps into fisting?), to "VCR cleaners", to leather clothing (underwear, outerwear and band/ring accessories), to impact play items and even slings and electro. This is my second time experiencing this feeling of discrimination at Doghouse Leathers. I carry a backpack around with me because I don't own a car so it's essentially a bag for me to store things like backup battery, phone charger and such, headphones etc... a couple times I've gone to Doghouse Leathers I've been asked to leave the backpack behind the counter, and other times I've been the one asking if I need to leave it behind the counter depending on who is working. Today there was someone who seemed like the manager or owner along with two pups in boy scouts uniforms, the pups were going about their business while when I entered I was greeted by the guy in the black harness and asked to leave my backpack behind the counter or if I was just picking something up at the counter I could leave it on. The way he went about saying it made me feel unwelcome and has left a bad taste in my mouth. As much as I want to support a local business this makes me just want to shop on Amazon to avoid feeling singled out like this. I visited Seattle from the Bay Area and headed straight to Doghouse Leathers. I had been one other time, but spent more time there this visit. I would say the goods are predominantly focused toward gay males and I am female, but I was met with kindness and courtesy. I was even asking about a custom order and they were happy to take me in the back, show me their website and talk about what customizations I could get and roughly what it would cost. I also came back an hour or two after my initial visit just to look at one more thing and they were friendly again upon my return. They have a nice selection of books, clothing (Fetishy and sexy gay man day clothing) and toys. Also true to their name they have pup gear if that's your thing. I liked seeing some of the more serious BDSM stuff including what looks to be a wide selection of handmade floggers and crops from local (or at least US) craftsmen. I am not a native Seattle-ite, but I did not see any other high quality leather stores in the area. If you are a straight person I would not hesitate to stroll in to Doghouse as it is WAY better than most online shops or the more vanilla sex toy stores that only carry the cheapest stuff. The selection of products I was faced with was phenomenal! They have high quality leather goods here. Most of their flogs and whips are made in Duvall. Local leather, check. A whole entire wall of local leather, arranged by a handy scale? Double Check! This store definitely has *the* best selection of these types of products. No other local store has this stuff. On my second trip here I came with a specific purpose. I had two items that were Must Haves, and I spent quite some time picking them out. I've been going to Doghouse since I moved to Seattle 2 years ago and they consistently provide the best service. I've used them to buy lube, douches, sex toys, jock straps, leather and even t-shirts.
