I've never been to Doghouse before but stopped by in the area recently. The store is arranged logically with toys and leather on the walls and cloths in the middle. The staff are super friendly and asked multiple times if we needed help. I saw them helping other customers and seemed very knowledgeable. The price of some of the leather is expensive but much of it is made in house or locally and its great quality. read more

I have always had been satisfied with this store, but my last visit was exceptional! I made their life little miserable because had a return BUT they helped me find something even better. The staff was courteous and very helpful. They had a great selection, good value, I would definitely say go there and go crazy. read more

Doghouse Leathers - Very satisfied man with a great shirt - Adult Shops Near Me - Seattle, Washington

In the heart of lower Capitol Hill, next to several local bars and shops, one can find a valued institution of Seattle's gay, queer, trans, and kinky communities: the spacious, well-lit, and entertainingly decorated leather and kink store known as Doghouse Leathers. Despite the specialty nature of this store, many reasons exist for a visit (or two or three or more). If you are local and looking for a welcoming environment to start exploring the kinky side of the gay community here, Doghouse Leathers waits for you with its wide variety of in-house leather work (from beautiful and highly affordable wristbands and key fobs to large, complex, fairly-priced halter sets), playful graphic tees featuring innuendo-laden designs, entire shelf of Tom of Finland books, and clever and affordable pride merchandise. If you're looking for some additional equipment for your intimate experiences, about a third of the retail space here is dedicated to a vast assortment of adult toys from a number of different brands, including local makers Happy Hole Toys and their Pacific-Northwest-inspired items. The variety of colors alone is impressive, not to mention all the different sizes and shapes. The store is run and staffed by visibly queer and/or trans people who are clearly dedicated to their jobs and always ready to welcome visitors in a manner comfortably free of awkwardness and shame in such a salacious setting. They are helpful with information about the store and its products, from the specialty adult toys to available custom leatherwork. I highly recommend that visitors or newcomers to Seattle eager to learn about its LGBTQ+ community take the time to check out Doghouse Leathers; it is a fixture of the local gay scene not just for its charming ambience, friendly service, and great selection, but also because the staff networks with other queer businesses, artisans, activists, and community organizers. There's always some posters up and business cards out for everything from HIV+ support groups to local trans activist organizations. Even if you don't break the bank with your purchases (say you only buy a couple lovely handmade wristbands for $10-$15 each, or some pride flags and buttons with queer slogans on them), Doghouse Leathers is worth a visit, if only to learn a little bit about how vast and exciting the world of queer kink is. Nobody will judge you--not even the giant caged teddy bear in the bondage swing. At Doghouse Leathers, everyone with enough manners to respect the queer community is a good pup. read more

Amazing service from the staff. Puppy I know is proud. I had some awkward questions and they were respectful and well knowledge. I'm proud to shop at a local business and also part of our "community" read more

Woof! Woof! Woof! The gents and gear at Doghouse Leathers are a howl... From friendly service to quite extensive stock this longstanding adult clothing, accessory, toys, books (in front) and informative info... This amazing little big emporium not just for the gay/bi/queer community but any with curiosity and for the city of Seattle as well known for being one of the most open and inclusive places in the State of Washington, but also in the world. I was lucky to stop in and support Doghouse during one of my yearly trips to the Evergreen state to catch up with my best friend and his husband and apparently us stopping in here was a must. I felt like because it was around midday and not to busy we got greeted and/or offered assistance by just about everyone in the store. They carry quite a variety of craftsmen custom leathers, shirts, shorts and things of the under garment nature... We all need support. D.L has some cool clearance and mark down items as well not to mention a great online shop. I ended up with a new Nasty Pig blue and orange mesh shirt that hugs the body just right... reminded me of some of the soccer and Rugby shirts I've seen and considering I'm hoping to join a Rugby league this summer it practically called out to me. The parking in the area during anytime of day can be a series of driving around the blocks, however it doesn't take up to much of your time and if you find a nice spot you have a good chunk of time to explore being that Doghouse sits near many coffee places, eateries and an Amazon Go store. While I'm not a leather person (the vegan in me)... I would definitely pop in here again solo or with friends as they have so many products and the warmth plus knowledge from Jeff (the owner) and everyone is more than enough for a stroll and/or shop experience. read more

A really cool and inclusive place for your leather desires! Im absolutely in love with their selection of pvc gear hand made locally and super sturdy quality leather perfect for any leather enjoyer! and clothing is an A+! I totally need to go back and get some for pride month merch from them! and of course the owners/employees are sweet as peaches and helped me when I needed it! read more

They always have the best selection and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I HIGHLY RECOMEND IT read more

My friend & I had a great time shopping at this place. The guy that helped us was nice & friendly. I remember telling him "She's been a bad girl but not that bad of a girl." He recommended a little thing I could spank her with but would'nt hurt too much. Now I'm rethinking that it should've been something with more umff & weight behind it. It seems this little spanking tool isn't "correcting" her like she should be. But a great place overall. Thank you Doghouse Leathers!!! \m/ read more

Great selection and super helpful and non-judgmental staff. I was a little nervous and insecure going in but the team put me right at ease and helped me find what I needed. read more

Horrible experience! Walk in the door and they ask to hold my shopping bag. Ok sweet! Can easier check weight of whip and pick up a couple ropes. Then they want my purse! Say what!?!?! Relented and grabbed my wallet out because I don't know these people from anyone. Which defeats freeing up hand anyway. While trying to look around the store the medical device I wear starts vibrating which it will make a horrible loud alarm if I don't get back into range. So yeah I left. Will be ordering what I went there specifically for online. As if it wasn't already awkward enough for me to go in there since most things buy online. Way to make it even worse! Not inclusive, unless you fit their ideal customer I guess. By that I mean be as kinky as you want but if you are looking to buy anything and don't have a twig and berries go anywhere else. They said it was because of the times and shoplifting- uh just glad they didn't want me to strip to shop. A cross body handbag isn't a backpack. read more

Great service. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Extensive collection of items. Good prices as well.

This place sits on a fairly quiet street with not a lot of thru traffic. The interior is rather large and boasts an extremely wide array of adult fun time items: from cock and ball rings, to dildos of all shapes and sizes (they even had an area for XL needs for those that are perhaps into fisting?), to "VCR cleaners", to leather clothing (underwear, outerwear and band/ring accessories), to impact play items and even slings and electro. The prices are very fair, even better than many other mostly gay adult stores I've shopped at. I was happy to support LGBT business and that the place was so clean and accommodating. Many times, gay adult shops can be located in a little bit of a seedy area... not the case at all, here. I even loved that Queen Willa (the 15 year old chihuahua) lay on a soft bed resting atop a chest high shelf, quietly watching over the goings on inside the shop. I would definitely come back and would expect that almost any needs I had (or any person - even those with specific fetish needs) would be met here. read more

Really great selection of gear and leather. They had some really cute shirts and onesies. Good selection of toys, rope etc. They wanted to have my backpack behind the counter which is pretty standard. The only reason it isn't five stars is occasionally when my girlfriend and I go into mostly gay men's spaces, despite being non-binary and her being trans, we both look like cis females and I felt that perhaps staff was wondering why we were there, however we are just as much a part of the gay and leather community. No one was rude or hostile, they just didn't seem to quite know what to do with us, like perhaps we stumbled into the shop on accident. read more

Sex Toys R Us. Whips & Chains & Baseball bats I kinda like the pain it's a matter of fact, it's the evil in me! Was in need of a few items for an erotic festival costume and found the mother load of erotic clothing & toys. If your buying fetish wear or old fashion smut this place has what you need. Lube, leather, rubber fist ( if your into that ) and much much more. Judging by the Leather clothing it appears they can custom make for you. I saw cod piece, shirts & pants for your leather man look. Also if you have a puppy fetish you'll be asked to heal and roll over as you enter cause this place has also your puppy needs ( google search if you really need to know). Exercise all your inner demons out and do what you wanna do, Life's to short not to accomplish all your sexual goals! So what are you waiting for the lube is waiting. read more

Nice staff, but the hours? Closes at 930 at night?? Is just me but don't you think a store that caters to the gay community and to sex-related items would be open later??? read more

Great selection of products although the prices are quite high. I was very pleased with my first purchase, the packaging was discreet when shipped to my house and the products were packed well and undamaged My second purchase was NOT a good experience as I do not live alone and the packaging was not discreet this time and was clearly labeled 'Doghouse Leathers' You can imagine the questions my roommate had for me Needless to say I will not be returning rather take my business elsewhere. read more

This is my second time experiencing this feeling of discrimination at Doghouse Leathers. I carry a backpack around with me because I don't own a car so it's essentially a bag for me to store things like backup battery, phone charger and such, headphones etc... a couple times I've gone to Doghouse Leathers I've been asked to leave the backpack behind the counter, and other times I've been the one asking if I need to leave it behind the counter depending on who is working. Today there was someone who seemed like the manager or owner along with two pups in boy scouts uniforms, the pups were going about their business while when I entered I was greeted by the guy in the black harness and asked to leave my backpack behind the counter or if I was just picking something up at the counter I could leave it on. The way he went about saying it made me feel unwelcome and has left a bad taste in my mouth. As much as I want to support a local business this makes me just want to shop on Amazon to avoid feeling singled out like this. I sincerely hope this is a misunderstanding but it certainly did not feel that way. Disappointed to leave this review. read more

Rude, unwelcoming staff, there are other places to buy lube, underwear, and gear. Place on 1st and Pike gear for lube and toys.

Doghouse leathers is a staple of the seattle community. The staff is extremely kind, the products there's a high variety with a excellent quality. There's a good book section near the front and If your lost or want to try things they have all the knowledge you could need. Love them read more

Helpful friendly staff. Don't be afraid to ask questions, they are very kind. Quality products good prices.

One thing that really made me fall in love with Seattle is just how open it is to gays and lesbians. Denver was not too bad but Seattle takes on a new openness. Actually it is a difference between night and day how the openness is on either coast compared to most landlocked cities in the country. That is what I loved about Seattle. Mild weather and openness. Capitol Hill is a plethora of openness and is Seattle's core for the LGBT population. Of course that means the shops will be great! Doghouse Leather is just such a place! The place has a wide variety of adult accessories and toys, club gear and lots of innovative clothing leather or not which makes my once staple store for such goods in Denver kind of vanilla! read more

Seattle's best leather/kink stop. The products are varied, numerous and some for every level vanilla to NSFW to a are your mom. The staff is always so friendly fun and helpful. Sometimes you don't find what your looking for or not in the mood. Doesn't matter they make you feel safe happy and at home. $20 or $2000 were all family there! Thanks guys your the reason I return! read more

I love their variety and selection, knowledgeable and helpful staff and great pricing!

Whenever I visit any city I try to find decent kink shops offering great variety and this is definitely on the list to come back to. Friendly and kind staff. Without a doubt one of my favorite leather stores to goto! Ash was very helpful when I shopped around for a pup tail and they sell a VERY wide selection of BDSM gear! I Also love how this store sells ABU and ODU in their selection! read more

I visited Seattle from the Bay Area and headed straight to Doghouse Leathers. I had been one other time, but spent more time there this visit. I would say the goods are predominantly focused toward gay males and I am female, but I was met with kindness and courtesy. I was even asking about a custom order and they were happy to take me in the back, show me their website and talk about what customizations I could get and roughly what it would cost. I also came back an hour or two after my initial visit just to look at one more thing and they were friendly again upon my return. They have a nice selection of books, clothing (Fetishy and sexy gay man day clothing) and toys. Also true to their name they have pup gear if that's your thing. I liked seeing some of the more serious BDSM stuff including what looks to be a wide selection of handmade floggers and crops from local (or at least US) craftsmen. I am not a native Seattle-ite, but I did not see any other high quality leather stores in the area. If you are a straight person I would not hesitate to stroll in to Doghouse as it is WAY better than most online shops or the more vanilla sex toy stores that only carry the cheapest stuff. The person who does their custom work seems to be very skilled and willing to work with folks to create a unique item. read more

Friendly, helpful staff. Lots of products and many options to chose from. If you are looking for something specific or customized, doghouse is the place to go. The staff members informed me that a lot of the products for sale are either produced and distributed by doghouse or from local vendors in the PNW area. I would highly recommend going to check this place out! read more

If Dan Brown is writing a follow up to his Da Vinci Code and Lost Symbol, he needs to visit Doghouse Leathers. It is the ultimate house of codes! Every color has a meaning and where you position the indicator harness, wrist band, or bandana can be the difference between a golden shower or a loosened back end! Only the Catholic church can outdo this place for symbolisms!! I am preshopping for Folsom when me and my buddies stumbled at Doghouse. They have the most helpful, welcoming bears and leather daddies I've ever met. They're the Robert Langdons of leather cryptology, teaching us on how a top should properly wear an industrial rubber harness with heavy-duty clips. Yes, we do exist - exclusively top Asians who are gifted. Stop snickering! More than a leather 7-11, Doghouse packs lots of toys and condiments to spice up any closeted Republican's sex life. I'll be back at this doghouse. Woof! read more

I have been in Doghouse Leathers twice. Once to browse and once to buy. If you're in search of more "heavy duty" sex accessories, this is definitely your place to go. I was in search for some starter BDSM toys; such as a cane, flog, paddle, etc. My first visit was pleasant, I was greeted by friendly staff who were eager to help me if I needed it. The selection of products I was faced with was phenomenal! They have high quality leather goods here. Most of their flogs and whips are made in Duvall. Local leather, check. A whole entire wall of local leather, arranged by a handy scale? Double Check! This store definitely has *the* best selection of these types of products. No other local store has this stuff. On my second trip here I came with a specific purpose. I had two items that were Must Haves, and I spent quite some time picking them out. One thing I also love about this store is that their toys are predominately black. I'm pretty happy I didn't have to sift through glittery, pink vibrators to get to my butt plug! The cane I picked up was also a nice subtle color, and the price was right too. Lube was 20% off during my visit and I had to pick some up. They have got a good selection, definitely. And their staff is really knowledgable about what can and cannot be used with certain toys. Thank goodness, because sometimes that confuses me. If you're a lady, head on in here. Yes, it's focused more on men but everyone can appreciate their high quality, reasonably priced products. read more

*** note that they have moved down the hill several blocks *** Doghouse is an amazing shop to get all sorts of kinky BDSM gear, clothing, and accessories. From their name you can probably guess that they're heavily into puppy play and a good portion of the shop is dedicated to that, bur there's so much more-- quality ropes (made by Seattle's own Twisted Monk), impact play toys, spreader bars, restraints, tons of electro play gear, an amazing variety of lubes, dildos big enough to Inspire nightmares, and things I can't even remember. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They even offer training classes. read more

Great place to shop, the selection is amazing. This place is a lot bigger inside than it looks from the street. Prices on lube, toys, and other assorted accoutrements are very reasonable. And the staff is not only knowledgeable & friendly, but pretty damn hot too. I'd shop here before going to that f*@%ing Castle store on Broadway. Thanks guys! read more

Awesome shop that appears to cater primarily to the the Dom/sub gay community, and does it quite well, but unlike some kink shops where you're treated like outsiders we felt very warmly welcomed. We are a het couple and we purchased there two days in a row because they have a great selection of toys and gear at fair prices and we were treated like family. Conversations with staff were open and honest and recommendations were given freely and with personal knowledge. read more

The staff is always so friendly, informative, and actually make me feel like they care about my needs. The remodel has only took the store to the sky. Now that the area is bigger and easier to move around in, I feel I can browse more efficiently. I love the new leather craftsman area. I'm stopping by and seeing him the next time I am in the area. Thanks for the entertaining experience. read more

Silly enough as this sounds, whenever I travel, I always try and make it a point to stop into the "gay clothing/underwear" store as it were in that city. Before the trip, I had heard the best spot for jockstraps were either here or UnderU4Men. I drunkenly made my way to Doghouse after the Sounders match and was SO overwhelmed at the selection I was faced with. I could have walked out with the store. I selected two Cellblock 13 jockstraps which are near impossible to get in Canada if you aren't much for online shopping. The staff were super friendly and helpful with sizing and styles. read more

If only they had a west seattle location. Like the new location bummer it's also not a bar.

I've been going to Doghouse since I moved to Seattle 2 years ago and they consistently provide the best service. I've used them to buy lube, douches, sex toys, jock straps, leather and even t-shirts. I recently was in to make a new purchase. Against the suggestion of the salesman Davey I bought some portable douches. These didn't work out too well. When I came back almost a week later and explained my plight to the salesman Wes he made the same suggestion as Davey and gladly made the exchange for me! Top notch service gentleman! Thanks for serving the community! :-) read more

I dont usually write reviews... but i felt compelled here. i have issues getting a lot or normal clothes to fit... let alone kinky stuff. This place is amazing! Friendly and helpful staff, and great inventory. Abby in the leather shop is fabulous!

Seeing that Doghouse Leathers is the only store in Seattle that offers the products I desire... I find them irreplaceable. Perhaps a little more competition would up their game but currently they're the only ones playing in this arena. If you think Castle, Babeland or Lovers Package is a good substitute then don't even bother. You don't understand. read more
