    Whiskey Tasting

Had a great experience on the whiskey tour! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. It was great to learn about Pittsburgh's history in regard to whiskey production and to be able to support a local business!

Stopped here recently for some drinks and apps. The setup makes for a good spot to stop during the warmer months, with part of the bar being outside. Shawn was our server and was awesome. He kept the bar lively and fun the whole time we were there. The drinks he made us were all fresh and delicious. My wife and I split buffalo chicken dip. It was one of the best I have ever had. It had a different consistency and flavor than traditional buffalo chicken dip, but it was great.

Best smashburger in the strip district. Service is super fast at lunch and the drinks are top notch.

Wigle Whiskey has a new pop up, Stars, Stripes, & Spirits! They had really fun themed cocktails and my favorites were the Rocket Pop and Smashed Strawberry Lemonade. I haven't had a corn dog in forever and was so excited that they have classic food offerings like corn dogs and fried oreos. Our bartenders were super nice and efficient. The only thing I didn't love is that in the distillery side room there's only two AC units that couldn't keep up so they just opened the doors and all the hot air came in and unfortunately I run on the hot side. Hopefully that won't be the case in the future. The grand opening is TODAY (June 27th) and it only runs for three weekends through July 12th so get there while you can!

While visiting Pittsburgh, a friend and I scheduled the Wigle Distillery Tour. It started with a welcome cocktail. We got to spend an incredible hour with Gayle learning about Pittsburgh history and the history of Mr. Wigle. To say the tour was amazing would be an understatement. We had 6 people on the tour, but Gayle made each of us feel special. Her passion for Whiskey was on full display. We got to sample 6 different products during the tour (my favorite was the cinnamon whiskey) and afterwards you could have a sample of any other product. You also got 25% off a bottle or anything in the gift shop. We popped to the gift shop and chatted with Olivia who gave us some recommendations before Gayle stopped by to say goodbye one more time. If you are coming through Pittsburgh and are in the Strip District you have to come take the tour. And tell Gayle we say hello :)

Located in the Strip District, Wigle Whiskey has a bar and restaurant and then offers an amazing tour and tasting experience every Saturday. They take you through their process, from using locally sourced grain to crafting award-winning rye, bourbon, gin, rum, and more. One of the highlights? Learning about Pittsburgh's Whiskey Rebellion--a wild and pivotal moment in U.S. history. The storytelling makes the experience even more immersive! The tour includes a spirit tasting, and the guide was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Wigle's craft. Whether you're a whiskey enthusiast or just looking for something unique to do, this tour is 10/10!

I met a new client there for an appetizer and drink. Nice place! Staff is very attentive. The grilled bread that came with the buffalo chicken dip was so good!

Atmosphere, spirits and a great staff. Whether you're stopping in for just a drink dinner or the tour you can't go wrong highly recommend.

My first time eating at Wigle and since the renovation. A really nice dining area now and the food was really good. The drinks were fantastic - whiskey sour and espresso martini! The cheese curd was delicious with barbecue dipping sauce, which I never would have thought! The eggplant sandwich had a nice spicy kick and the eggplant was grilled tender. I've already been back after taking a cocktail class!

Just great. We went for Father's Day lunch and our meal started with a complimentary mini old fashioned for the dad at our table. I had a Something Sour 75 (delicious--I love their gin) and he had a Rye Old Fashioned. (He liked the complimentary cocktail better.) Good start. We had pretzel sticks (fine, nothing special) and the roasted squash salad, fried zucchini sando, and the cluck around and find out (chicken sandwich) --all filling and well executed--all in all, a nice relaxing lunch. The perfectly lined-up bottles throughout the place will really speak to your sense of order :) and servers and bartender were very friendly. I kind of thought of Wigle as a nice bottle I'd pick up at the package store, but now I'll associate it with a relaxing, interesting taproom and tasty lunch! Will go back for sure.

Stopped in for drinks post dinner and had the best time! The vibe when you walk inside (and honestly outside too!) is just adorable and there is so much to see. They offer tours and cocktail classes, which would be a really fun gift for someone! Service was quick and server was knowledgeable about the drinks, explained them perfectly! Will be back!

I really like it here! I think the appetizers are actually really good, and i LOVE their pop up bars!!!! the drinks are always so fun and delicious. I think for a whiskey distillery, i should love their whiskey, but i actually find it a little bit too sweet. that's pretty much the only reason i wouldn't give it 5 stars... but i definitely could be persuaded. It's a great spot and i come here often! i LOVE their cheese curds and their pierogies

Drinks were ok, a bit on the pricey side. The not accepting cash was a huge turn off. We won't be back unless cash is accepted again.

The Open Road is here in the up-and-coming Garfield neighborhood to help supply sober and sober curious people, and really anyone interested in cutting back on alcohol or supporting someone who is, with delicious beverages that help you feel like you're not missing out on a thing. There are nonalcoholic beers, spirit-free versions of things like gin, bourbon, bitters and truly anything else you might need to make yourself alcohol free drinks at home. There are also pre-canned and bottled options where you don't have to do any of the work, nonalcoholic wine and bubbly, functional beverages with added benefits, the amount of choice is nearly overwhelming in the best possible way. It's a clean, open vibe in the shop and the staff is kind and helpful. I have bought from them a number of times throughout the year at various pop-ups but this was my first visit to the shop and of course won't be my last. They are regulars at Pittsburgh festivals and other events and I'm deeply appreciative for their presence in the community!

I personally have a couple of pregnant friends who cannot drink but like Non alcoholic wine. This is just such an amazing concept as a store and it's awesome seeing places like this start to pop up. More people are cutting back or going sober and you never know someone's reason for not drinking!

They served Collefrisio wines and had great cheese plates. My friends and I would go for their happy hour for half priced glasses of Riserva wine. It was a very laid back atmosphere. I don't think the wine bar has reopened, but I visited recently for a coffee. De Fer Coffee & Tea is now the coffee provider inside the grocery store. I guess I haven't been there for a while, because there were a lot of changes! The macaron stand isn't there any more, and they have seats instead. I was so glad that I took my laptop with me, because once I saw the seats I decided to stay and work. While sipping on my oat milk latte, I watched all the Downtown work people come and go ordering custom sandwiches and hot foods for lunch. They have a good selection of food and the prices are reasonable. I remember one time ordering salmon, veggies, and something else and it was only about $10-$12. They served it to you on a plate, and I ate it in the wine bar. I didn't eat anything on this most recent trip, but I enjoyed my latte from De Fer. I'm glad to know they have seats now because I definitely plan to eat/work there more often. They also have a restroom downstairs that is kept clean.
