We went on a Sunday afternoon so it's only the brunch menu available. The choices are limited but everything we ordered were delicious. The Bottled Cocktail flight has a great value, $12 for 4 tastings, highly recommend! We also had the coffee cocktails as dessert(lol), Coffee First tastes like a hot Irish coffee, it's a lil too sweet for me but my friends liked it a lot; I think Yinzer Coffee is a must try, so special and yummy! The food is good, deviled eggs are excellent. The service is very good as well. However, the lighting is way too bright to the point of inhospitable. It's lit up like a gymnasium after dark, an invitation to leave the restaurant as quickly as possible. I am not alone in this assessment, others I've spoken with agree, As recently as this evening we saw friends there and they mentioned it as well. Really cool spot that is beautifully designed inside and they have outdoor seating outside. This place is located in the Strip so they have that trendy old distillery but new and hip vibe. They had nice drinks and whiskey flights. For happy hour, they have $2 off their classic cocktails and threadbare ciders. Note that whiskey sours are not on the classics menu! The burger, mushroom toast and pierogis were good. Everyone really liked their starters and the food is decent here. They use mediterra bread for their mushroom toast and it's really pretty. Their fries are also awesome. One thing that wasn't so great was the fried chicken sandwich which came really dark and burnt as if they over fried it or didn't change the oil. Great event this evening for the Pittsburgh Yelp Elite crew. Wigle is a place that I've always wanted to visit but have never gotten around to doing it. This event allowed me to see the huge, unique space. I had no idea how huge the place was. Nor did I realize that they serve some tasty food. I took a tour of the facility tonight and learned about the history of Wigle and more importantly how they make the different types of alcohol. And the best part was I got to sample some of the delicious food they make there and their tasty beverages. I would highly recommend this place. I will bring my friends and family down to Wigle in the near future to hang out, have some delicious cocktails and some great food. read more

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. This place was moderately busy as we had about a 25 minute wait. I think it may be a christmas special, but I would highly recommend the cocktail and cookie flight! The trio of cocktails comes boasting some of their best whiskeys, bourbon and rum in cocktails paired with some scrumtious cookies. I also appreciated that they are all on the stronger side for cocktails. For food, I got the fried chicken sandwich. It hit all the spots, it was very savory and fried wonderfully. Wigle Whiskey has so many things that are really cool happening. First - the whiskey is very impressive. It's a rare day that I can find a whisky smooth and mellow enough to sip. Here? I met the Honey Whiskey and we decided it was worth checking a bag to bring back to Colorado. We enjoyed a flight of whisky and decided we'd bring two other bottles home with us - ya know, since we were already checking one bag. The Straight Rye and the Smoked Whiskey. Both really good. My partner said the Straight Rye was one of the best he's he - and trust me, this man is a whisky connoisseur. The one drawback? The bar was fairly empty when we arrived and not too full when we left (it was still early for a Friday night). The drawback was watching the bar and wait staff enjoy conversation and connection with one another over the few of us who were in the bar. Now, don't get me wrong, they weren't ever rude, just incredibly inattentive except with one another. Was it off putting? Yes. Almost so much so that we thought twice about spending $200 on three bottles of whisky. My guy? He was a hard no. He's a fan of good customer service. I wanted the whiskey and knew he'd appreciate it later. Good thing it was me buying. We both come from family owned businesses. Good customer service can make or break you. So, if you're an owner and reading this, maybe an opportunity for growth. That said, my reframe to my partner was that we were investing in the distillers and their hard work, not the front of the house. read more

Whiskey apparently is a 2nd first language of native Pennsylvanians reading the history of Monongahela Rye on the walls within. Whiskeys long associated with the south actually is rooted in Western PA, good use of the abundance of grain! Incredible to see that the language survived and thanks to Wigle (PA-ers say 'wiggle' but in German tongue its 'vigle' with a hard "i" ...and Overholt the distiller Americanized his German last name, Overholtzer so there. Yeah but what about the Whiskey? It's delicious and with so many varieties plus liqueurs, spritits including Absinthe, Rum, Gin, bitters, and brandy Wigle has your whole bar program covered, plus James Beard Award finalist accolades, twice in the ABV division! Quite amazing since our first visit 2011 when it was just a sparse warehouse doing their grain thang. The food is equally A+ imaginative use of local ingredients to elevate the normal ho-hums of pub dining, with just enough options to help you sip longer and please a variety of table mates from pub grubbers--though at a gastropub level, to your refined bunch with inventive salads and seafood offerings. Found the dressings and pickles very assertive on the acid so I would definitely ask for both of those on the side next time. $14 Broccoli Panzanella Salad apple, roasted mushroom, caputo brothers ricotta salata, fennel, pickled banana pepper, ginger-oregano vinaigrette, grilled Mediterra focaccia - stopped by on a quick lunch run and this was a bit too tart from both the pickle of the banana peppers, tart apple like a granny, and dressing that drowned out the roasted earthiness of the mushrooms. Had me puckering from beginning to end, so dressing to side would be advised. Broccoli was a bit too raw and would prefer just a tad bit cooked, and a lot of bread but kinda expected being a panzanella. 2nd visit for dinner $13 Pierogi potato + cheddar pierogi, kielbasa, barrel-cured sauerkraut, chives, sour cream. This is the winner right here, very moreish and filling for a small plate/dinner though we shared as an appy. Pierogi are deep fried crisp outside, hot and cheesy insides. Kielbasa not overly spiced fills this plate out. I would order it to share every time! $18 Blackened Salmon Sandwich caesar dressing, kale, pickled shallot, pecorino. Ordered rare and it was in the center, large hunk, and nice black seasoning and char between toasted potato bread. Fries are thin, crisp, frozen kind, aok. Hubby was super satisfied. $15 Lonzetta Sandwich toasted baguette, Boursin, Parma salami rustico, dressed arugula, pickled banana peppers. Crusty warm bread with cold cuts and opted for a side salad vs chips/fries but again got hit with high tang of dressed arugula, salad vinaigrette+pickled banana peppers, I took a break from eating after a few bites & brought half home $12 Espresso Martini--ordered off menu. Bartender used house cinnamon whiskey & coffee liqueur, espresso, & cream topped with some beans, delish but could of been twice as big haha! Dinner Service well what could of been amazing, just saying this because this put a wee damper on the experience, but everything else was amazing, atmosphere, decor, food, and the alcohol of course, and oddly every one 'Except our server' was pleasant. Logan (dark haired, shorter) was on the ticket but unsure if this was the super nice manager we assume (lighter fair hair) that ended up checking us out. So our waiter just stood there staring at us blankly saying he didn't know when asked which selected Happy Hr appetizers were $2 off...No offer to find out what they were, nor did he seem to care that he did not know; it was just so odd and off-putting. Once I downloaded the menus online, as we had asked for paper ones initially, I could easily see the 3 appys--hush puppies, pierogies & white bean dip that were discounted..so he could of just as easily done it too or just asked staff?! This wasn't the only uncomfortable interaction, it continued throughout service. Tracked him down to request another round of drinks, he just paused,looked our way and walked off without saying anything, but the order came through?! Will say he was more helpful when I requested an espresso martini which was not on the menu. He mentioned there used to be one so he would asked the bartender, so there's that, and I did get a new concoction from the bar which was great. When we asked for coffee and waited 15 mins, still no coffee, he was standing at the bar, looked over at us, then turned and kept going on with his conversation. We never saw him again; spent $200, no thanking us or saying goodbyes as we left. Had to ask another waiter for coffee again but was barely warm when it arrived. The manager took it off the tab and we did get more hot coffee but unless we knew better, this coulda left an unpleasant taste for our guests' first Wigle experience. Overall not an engaged waiter, stoic, no acknowledgements on orders, like a non-emotive robot taking an order. read more

Top notch distillery. Tried their standard flight and the barrel aged flight. I'm not a huge fan of spiced rum but theirs is the best I've ever tasted. The gin is very clean tasting with little burn, and their whiskeys are all super flavorful. Their happy hour appetizers are a great deal too. read more

Whisky flight- great bang for your buck. Presentation wise, it comes with a map of what you are drinking with tasting notes. You would find this typically with wine flights as well. Cheese curds- nice portion and crispy. Good choice for shareable munchies Peaches salad- I like my things a little saltier than most so I did add salt and pepper. The peaches were fresh, but the skin was still on them. Probably just my personal preference to just not eat the skin. It didn't effect the flavor, but the texture for me. I can understand not peeling peaches as it can be labor intensive. The service was ok. As expected, nothing super outstanding, but also not at all bad. This was a nice place for a middle of the day snack and cocktail. read more

The food was pretty good, and the ciders were tasty and on sale during happy hour. The cheese curds were fabulous, but we hated the limoncello dip that came with them... I get what they were going for but it just didn't land well. We asked for ranch instead which was a great choice as their ranch is delicious. The pierogies were good too. I love the intimate atmosphere in here. The bartenders are some of the best in the city and I had the tastiest sazerac I've ever had here! (Someone I went with firmly stated they don't like sazeracs and now exclusively orders them here) No worries if you don't like whiskey as they have cider on tap, beer, as well as gin and rum based concoctions. We'd only been to the tasting room at Ross Park Mall before today, but we will definitely come back here again!
