Cold fries. Burnt, dry, and cold mini corn dogs.
    David K.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. So, shame on me. This visit (10/08/21 5:48pm) was worse than the last. This time, at least the order was correct. To be sure, cheese was offered on the dogs again. Again I said no. And in fact, I received no orange glue. Yay! However, condiments were not offered. Imagine that. The real problem was with every item I received. I really used to enjoy going here, but it seems I'll have to just get over it. The fries were cold and limp. Not warm, cold. The mini corn dogs were burnt, dry, and cold. The chili dogs tasted funny and were barely warm. My Dr Pepper tasted off, as if some lemon-lime had been mixed in. I understand that mistakes can be made in an order sometimes, as on my previous visit. But on this visit, not one of the items was enjoyable, or even edible. Shame on you, Wienerschnitzel, for serving such garbage. Oops, I forgot. SHAME ON ME.

    Where's the cheese ?

their service sucks here no wonder they have bad reviews. We ordered cheese fries but I don't like the liquid cheese. Literally no cheese lol . The guy who took our order was mumbling the entire Time and I had to repeat myself a few times. Wait time is ridiculous. Please this staff needs better training !

I never cared for Wienerschnitzel too much but was really craving a "hotdog" for some reason. I am SO glad I stopped into this location. I tried the junkyard dog (grilled onions, chili, fries). You can not go wrong. The dog itself was about $3 and combo was $7 which wasn't bad. The small combo left me full for lunch. This spot is super clean, not busy at all and there's parking galore. The employees were swift and pleasant. Overall above average experience.

Great food! Staff was wonderful. Definitely worth it…read more Burria was fantastic. Not tons of seats, but good enough.

I went on a taco run yesterday to try to find the best taco in Whittier…read more Started off the run with a keto taco mixed with asada and al pastor and then a regular tripa taco. Keto taco - toasted/grilled cheese instead of a regular tortilla - needed to be done a little more on one side as the cheese wasn't quite toasty enough to stay in place to slightly resemble the shape of a taco. Bit hard to eat, covered my hands in grease. Asada tastes almost boiled, and this being my 2nd or 3rd time getting the Asada here, it consistently tastes like it was boiled and not grilled. Unsure of meat quality or preparation, but there are no grill marks and it's a bit chewy. Same with the al pastor. Tripa taco was bizarre. Strips of flat skin instead of the usual roundish, cylindrical shape of tripa (intestine). Usually a saltier, fattier meat than asada, which is my preference but the one here was lacking in flavor and the texture threw me off a bit. Tripa can be chewy - unless requested extra done, which is how I normally order it - but there was no saving this tripa. I think it needs to be sliced differently, the cuts made it inedible. Brother shared some of his chorizo taco and it was the better of the bunch. Red chorizo, TJ style, although it was also lacking a teeny bit in flavor... onions and cilantro to the rescue! Still, mediocre. Salsas were ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Don't think the tortillas were homemade. Service was fine, cashier takes your order, dude at the counter was chill and had a friendly attitude. Seating was limited. Mostly bar style seating but the majority was in front of a window and it had so much heat trapped from the glass that it was kind of uncomfortable. Other seats are too close to the bathroom. Good for a quick bite or just pick-up orders. Wouldn't plan a sit down/dine-in visit. Parking is scarce and has really small spots, wouldn't come if you're driving a pick-up truck or anything like that. Food was reasonably priced, which is good, however; the food was lacking so I would not return.

The sambal chili aioli was a sleeper - it packed in a ton of unexpected spice. Deliciously unexpected. The thick toasted brioche bun also added a layer of sweetness. We ordered the turkey BLT because it was a special. It was, of course, delish, but I should have kept to the tried and trues. I'll definitely be back. Also PSA and order your sandwiches for pickup. Keep in mind I ordered around 12:50pm and the sandwich was ready at 1:45pm. I ordered the Spicy Gabagool Sandwich, and there were barely any mixed greens as compared to other reviews & the menu photo (I love my veggies)! The meats were yummy, but they did not stand out to me/didn't taste anything special. Unfortunately, the same goes for the bread. However, I did like the packaging of the sandwich and everything in the sandwich tasted well together; the chile spread, burrata, hot honey, pickled onions, meats.. the spice level is definitely tolerable; I didn't need water at all. It was more of a small kick. I also tried their lemon crumb bar and it was very delicious! If anything I would come again to try more of their unique baked goods. Overall, I enjoyed the ambiance of the shop. It is quite small and there are many people waiting for their order inside. There is only outdoor seating, which is scarce.

This review is not about the Jimmy Johns chain (although a huge fan!). This review is about the Jimmy Johns on Washington Blvd and specifically the #7 Spicy East Coast Italian. I've eaten a lot of sandwiches, and no matter the shop if there's an Italian one on the menu I can't help but give it a try. I had a #7 from Jimmy Johns a few years back and remember liking it. So about 6 mos ago I found myself in Sante Fe Springs for work. Hungry and with some time to kill I ordered the #7. I needed to do some work on my forklift and figured I had a few minutes but great day in the morning the jimmy johns truck came ripping up in 6 min flat. Driver was friendly, I couldn't believe the speed it arrived and so I started to tear into the paper of my Spuckie. The great thing about the #7 is the hot peppers. Every good Italian sandwich has the perfect amount of spicy hot peppers. And this JJ absolutely kills it. As you take your first bite you immediately taste the cold freshness of the salami and capicola (doubled on the #7), the perfect amount of lettuce and for a second you think you're in downtown Boston getting ready to walk into Fenway. The heat from the peppers starts to hit and just when it could get a little too spicy, the perfect amount of mayonnaise mellows it out. The gutted bread make for the perfect meat to bread ratio and the fresh juicy tomato finishes the sandwich out. I was impressed. I loved it in fact. I couldn't believe how good it was and thought it would never be replicated. But the following week there I was. So I ordered it again, this time two in fact for a friend. 6 min. BOOM. There's the driver with two sandwiches. I'm thinking there's no way it's going to be as good as last time. It's not possible. THE EXACT COMBINATION OF PERFECTNESS HAPPENS AGAIN. My friend can't believe. I'm in shock. Convinced that this sub maker on Washington Blvd was born in Milan, raised in downtown Boston under the tutelage of the cities greatest Spuckie makers of all time I start to make it a tradition. Weekly. Never once have I been let down. I've even tried to alter it (adding more hot peppers) HOW DARE I. This sandwich is perfect. The guy back there slicing the capicola with laser focus, squirting on mayo in the perfect amounts, placing each Peper in the perfect spot and ensuring the right balance of sweet and hot is a genius. Don't mess with work of art. Order the #7 and enjoy. God Bless America.
