Since it is a sandwich spot we ordered sandwiches. All 3 of us got a combo (chips and a drink). Our review of the sandwiches was mixed. My husband loved his Rueben. My daughter and thought our sandwiches were just ok. I had a meatball sub-it was huge-the bread was very big. The sauce and meatballs were just ok to me. My daughter had the Buddy Holly Blvd and she also said it was just ok-fine, but nothing special. I had lemonade from the fountain and it was very watered down-almost no flavor. Our bill for 3 sandwich w/chips and drink combo was $57, which I thought was a bit expensive for lunch. But it was a good experience due to the staff being so friendly!

We ordered the grill pork sandwich, combination sandwich and Roasted rice with black jelly milk tea. Bread was amazingly crispy and flaky. Combination was good, only complaint is there wasn't enough veggies. The grill pork was tasty but had lots of pieces of fat. Again, not much veggies. Surprisingly, the milk tea wasn't too sweet and the roasted rice flavor wasn't overwhelming .

When we walked in on May 19, 2026, the place was not too busy at around noon. Right away I noticed low lighting. Cool alternative, rock, and old R&B music playing in the background. A full bar. Pinball machines for tables. Lots of nostalgia in this place! Restroom was mostly clean. The food was okay. I wish there was a bit more flavor to everything. My daughter agreed. + The Damned Dog ($11) "All beef frank, house beef chili, cheddar, diced onions, and jalapeno crispies." This was good but the frank and chili needed more flavor. I opted for a side of house-made vegan potato salad (additional $1.50) instead of potato chips which really good. + The Sourpuss ($12) "Bratwurst, sauerkraut, pickle slice, crushed salt & vinegar chips, and queso fresco." My daughter enjoyed this with ketchup and mustard added and a side of smoked gouda mac. That mac was very tasty. We also noticed how crisp and spicy our Sprite and Dr. Peppers were. Loved that. I'd definitely go back again for a drink and maybe a sandwich next time. Ample lot parking.

The space itself is adorable--think industrial loft vibes with exposed brick, warm wood accents, and that cozy, slightly artsy feel you get from an old brick building repurposed just right. It's the kind of place that feels calm and intimate, especially tucked into a quieter downtown pocket that gives off small-city charm in the best way. I ordered a loose-leaf green tea (I won't even attempt to pronounce the name), brewed French-press style, and it was so good--earthy, smooth, and surprisingly reminiscent of crispy rice mixed with green tea. Warm, comforting, and thoughtfully prepared. My husband went with an Americano, which was solid and well-balanced. They do offer food and small bites, but what really stood out was how community-forward the space feels. There's local artwork displayed throughout the café, all available for purchase, along with curated retail items like tallow products, cool tees, and other thoughtful little finds you don't usually see in a coffee shop. Between the cozy industrial atmosphere, quality drinks, and strong support of local artists and makers, Nashville Cafe feels less like a quick coffee stop and more like a place you actually want to linger. A really sweet spot downtown--quiet, creative, and full of character.
