This place is under new management and was just renovated recently. I read some reviews with the old owner and would just recommend that these individuals give this place another try. This place is gorgeous!! My husband and I will definitely be going back. The bed, pillows, cashmere throw pillows on the bed were so dreamy. Very high end finishes throughout the property. The breakfasts were delicious; the staff was so friendly and accommodating. And a shoutout to the manager, Jeff West who is the absolute best. The rooms do vary in size, so check out the website so you can decide what room you would like. Pricey, but worth it!!

Hands down one of the cutest and quaint places I have ever been to. My wife and I were not disappointed one bit. Service was top notch and the food was fantastic. If your looking for a romantic getaway in an awesome town then you should stay at Wickwood Inn in Saugatuck MI.

    My beautiful wife!

Let me get right to it... If you are a seasoned B&B connoisseur. You will be very disappointed... Then again maybe the 100+ B&B's I have stayed at are just that much better!?!? My wife surprised me by making reservations here! And after looking at all the B & B's in the area and personally knowing one of the Owners in a prior life. I would have picked this B & B as well. I felt so bad for my wife because she felt personally responsible for the not so pleasant accommodations. And it was by far the most expensive one we have stayed at in the USA. Definitely not worth the money... + From the outside it is well cared for and fairly nice landscaping + First let me say the staff was friendly and very kind - We arrived in the evening just before evening appetizers. They only serve these from 6pm to 7pm and then "Poof" gone. Not before 6 pm (we had shown up at 5:54 pm), no big deal and the Inn Keeper did still offer us a glass of Champagne which was very kind. - When we had arrived the Inn Keeper said that she would replenish the pastries which were down to crumbs. She must have gotten busy with other things... never did get to try any of those. - When we checked into our suite the Inn Keeper apoligized saying that this was the coldest room because it was at the end of the tail line and to keep the other rooms cool they had to keep it up and if we needed more blankets to let her know. My wife and I always keep a cold bedroom so this was good news! ***Bad news it was miserably hot! One of the most uncomfortable rooms I have slept in... ok didn't sleep much! - Got up and opened the door for coffee (they have a table with cups and coffee) no clean cups no coffee... dang not my day! - Ran out of toilet paper... searched for some more... really left on the floor under the sink... really? - The breakfast... Great presentation! But ...just ok nothing special. I am a foodie and had very high expectations. Not so much (except for the pastries and those are brought in from local bakery). Coffee not strong enough for me. In the end just ok... nothing special BUMMER!! I love food... I could get even more critical and I feel like the "Stand out" because so many others give it 5 *Stars! But seriously I am being very gracious in giving it 3 Stars! Not even in the top 100 of the B & B's we have stayed at.

I was a little apprehensive at first after hearing that it is both a salon and hotel, and reading some of the negative reviews about the condition of the rooms. I can only speak to our stay and our room which were both very nice. The room is contemporary, huge, and with well appointed furniture and fixtures. The place looks to have been updated sometime in the recent past, and was impeccably cleaned. I cannot think of a more central location to stay either. Walk out the suite's door and you are a minute away from shopping and dining options. The only downside, and it may be a big deal for late risers, is that suite 7 has a skylight located directly over the bed and does not have a means for closing it. I threw a T-shirt over my eyes and was fine, and my wife was up before it could even bother her. If this is a big issue than you may want to shop their other suites, which also look nice from the online pictures. We will stay at this hotel again in our next visit to Saugatuck.

The two guys who seem to run this place appear to really care about their operation and customers. All of our interactions with the front desk people were great. The two guys up front were super nice and always pleasant to deal with. They even hooked it up with a free toothbrush because I forgot mine. Couldn't ask for better customer service here. The place looked like it has been renovated and really upgraded. You may not think it from looking at this place on a map, but this place has some nice amenities: several BBQs available for use, pool open late (with a great ambiance), and free continental breakfast. Also, the rooms are cozy and very well kept. They even doubled down on some stylish furniture and interior design. Bravo fellas. Finally, last but not least, the shower. The shower was a perfectly executed work of craftsmanship. It was honestly the first stone/tile shower design I had used that felt like whoever built it knew what they were doing. The pressure and level of water flow was almost therapeutic. I didn't want to exit the shower. Overall these folks are running a tight ship. Keep up the good work! We hope to come back soon!

He yelled at us told us we need to leave and never come back. We were clearly confused just quietly lounging by the pool when he came up and publicly screamed at us. It was awful service and he said he would refuse our service in the future. Absolutely ridiculous. Rachel clearly said we could be there, and he made our grandma Sue who rented the rooms so upset she left the pool. Extremely ridiculous and horrible customer service. Will never come back and will be sure to let all my friends and family know to never book here. There is no rule saying we cannot be at the pool. Especially if we are PAYING FOR ROOMS!!!! Horrible man. They also tried to say it's publicly listed no guests allowed at the pool which it's clearly not. I have included every sign posted at the pool. Incredibly unprofessional and rude. We actually have multiple rooms booked despite the owner trying to lie in their responses on here :) The backtracking is insane and unprofessional. Just own up to the fact that you guys were extremely rude and if you don't want guests in the pool area, it should be publicly noted. WHICH ITS NOT!!!! Pics included of every sign at pool!! :)

From the moment we entered, we received the kindest of hospitality. Scott, the innkeeper, provided us with so much wonderful information on things to do, where to eat and was kind in addressing any of our needs. We had a "romance" package which included wine, $50 credit to a restaurant and chocolate. The room was cozy with a faux fire place and a room overlooking some trees and down to the water. As for the breakfast (ALSO INCLUDED), it was amazing. Scott outdid himself with the quality of breakfast and service. I cannot recommend this place enough. We will be going back. T

The best. THE BEST!…read more Love Beechwood Manor! Stayed here a few weeks ago for my birthday weekend when I found a special online for 2 nights plus one one hour free in-room massage, gift certificate to a restaurant in downtown Saugatuck, and of course the two complimentary brekkies (being that it's a B&B, of course) for $388. Such a steal! The house itself is lovely. Built in the 1870s and renovated a bit but still keeping that Victorian charm. A comfy downstairs sitting area, and cozy dining room and another kitchenette area with a fridge (stocked with complimentary sodas and water), water pot for tea, hot chocolate, etc, and coffee. Oh yay! We stayed in Enid, the largest of the rooms. Very spacious with a sitting area of two chairs and a table, a couple of nightstands, a chest of drawers, a queen sized bed (very comfy and cozy), a fireplace, a small cable tv and dvd player, and cd/radio. It was actually really nice to unplug a bit so we didn't really watch any tv but it was there if you need it. Instead we mostly just lounged around listening to classical music on the radio and Prairie Home Companion. Fit the feel of the room nicely! The adjoining bathroom is a good size too with a lovely and deep clawfoot bathtub (that I definitely took a soak in. AHHH so nice!) and a separate shower. Complimentary bathrobes added to the cozy feeling and the windows had a lovely view for just perching and looking outside. Add that to the most amazing massage ever (seriously, one of the best I've ever had and I'm hard to please) and I walked out of there feeling completely rested and rejuvenated. The hosts/owners, Sal and Gregg are just lovely. Really friendly and chatty, I felt like an honored guest. And they are no slouches in the kitchen, either! Our breakfasts were DELICIOUS. The first day I had the eggs benedict (although the smell of the waffles sure were intoxicating!) and the next morning I had the sweet potato pancakes which I had to force myself to stop eating because they were so tasty but oh so filling! The grounds are lovely and I can't wait to come back in warmer weather for a sit on the porch looking at the trees and Kalamazoo river peaking through (while their super friendly kitty Oscar rubs against your ankles--but don't worry cat allergy folks, kitty does not come into the guest quarters. We only saw him chillin' outside). If you've never been to a B&B I highly recommend starting with Beechwood Manor. Although it's likely any others you visit may not live up!
