The Twin Oaks Inn is a beautiful Inn with 6 rooms for rent. The landscaping and building itself is warm and bright. The inside of the inn features plenty of wood and décor in warm colors. The rooms are quite pretty and very updated. Everything from the window treatments, to the bathrooms, and the beds is very high quality. The inn is VERY clean. Despite having so many pretty decorative items, I didn't see a speck of dust. Lisa and Sherry are the proprietors and they are a delight. Both ladies are super helpful, friendly, and welcoming. Lisa is a divine cook! They accommodate dietary restrictions and pay special attention to so many different details. Breakfast is served at a long dining room table inside, or at cute little bistro style tables on the enclosed patio. Sherry takes a moment to describe the dish served and the food was excellent both mornings. There is additional seating for relaxation and enjoying the outdoors on a back patio. The grounds in the back of the property are very pretty with a calming water fountain. All-in-all, I cannot find any criticism about the Twin Oaks Inn. Besides all that I've already mentioned, they are in a prime location within walking distance of several restaurants and the waterfront. Everything we wanted to see was an easy drive from this property. We will definitely stay here again!

This was our first visit to Saugatuck and first stay at a traditional B & B. I'm asking myself why it took so long! Twin Oaks is perfectly situated to downtown-- you can walk to anything. Our host for the two days was Sherry. She welcomed us like family visiting for a few days. The inn is beautiful and you can tell she takes great pride in the renovations that took place several years back. We stayed in the Ghent room which is on the second floor. It has a more of a modern decor than some of the other rooms we saw but perfect for our taste. It has a king bed along with separate tub and shower. The inn has a nice rear patio where you can enjoy a glass of wine or your breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, Sherry is a wonderful cook and I went into immediate withdrawal my first morning back home. We look forward to a return visit!

From the moment I was researching and communicating with Jenn the innkeeper, until the moment we checked in and met Steve and Jimmy, we felt comfortable and welcomed and so happy with our choice. The house has been transformed into eight separate bedrooms with their own private bath, and each is well appointed with the most luxurious bedding and soft pillows and mattress. I loved the pillow so much that I ordered one to be shipped to my home! Steve and Jimmy greeted us with a glass of wine and a little history of the building and the area and gave restaurant recommendations and things to do. Each morning Jenn created a wonderful three course breakfast that kept me full all day until dinner. Waking up for the 930 spread was the highlight of each morning! Nothing was store-bought, nothing. She is a master baker and chef and takes pride in her presentation and selection of food. I have never stated at a B&B and was concerned that it would feel like sharing space with strangers, but that was not the case. The first night was a full house with all 8 rooms occupied and everyone was respectful of each other. Jenn and Steve were available as much as we wanted them to be, but gave us our space to do our own thing. I would highly recommend staying at Judson Heath and let Jimmy, Jenn and Steve show you around their cute, quaint and adorably perfect town.

This place has a ton of perfect or near perfect ratings across review sites, and I can see why!…read more We booked this B&B inn for our wedding anniversary celebration, and it was perfect. Steve and Jenn were excellent hosts. They gave us restaurant recommendations and a brief history of the building (established in 1837!). Jenn cooked an amazing 3-course breakfast daily, and I devoured every bite. My favorites were the baked goods, like blueberry cake. We stayed in the Elton room on the top floor that had a lot of nice touches and character to it. It had a jacuzzi (although don't use it past 10pm to avoid disrupting the guests below)! The bed was comfortable, and the views overlooking the Japanese garden and two different streets were nice. You also use a vintage key to open and lock the room. The location is awesome, and everything is walkable from this inn. Keep in mind that there are about four car spots in the lot, but there is generally free street parking as well. One of the highlights at this inn is definitely Steve's and Jenn's Chihuahua dog named Jimmie! He is absolutely adorable and greeted us upon arrival as well as throughout our stay. During breakfast, he was sniffing the ground for dropped food from guests. It must have worked in the past because he knew when it was time to come out! I highly recommend staying here. We'll be back in the future!

From the moment we entered, we received the kindest of hospitality. Scott, the innkeeper, provided us with so much wonderful information on things to do, where to eat and was kind in addressing any of our needs. We had a "romance" package which included wine, $50 credit to a restaurant and chocolate. The room was cozy with a faux fire place and a room overlooking some trees and down to the water. As for the breakfast (ALSO INCLUDED), it was amazing. Scott outdid himself with the quality of breakfast and service. I cannot recommend this place enough. We will be going back. T

The best. THE BEST!…read more Love Beechwood Manor! Stayed here a few weeks ago for my birthday weekend when I found a special online for 2 nights plus one one hour free in-room massage, gift certificate to a restaurant in downtown Saugatuck, and of course the two complimentary brekkies (being that it's a B&B, of course) for $388. Such a steal! The house itself is lovely. Built in the 1870s and renovated a bit but still keeping that Victorian charm. A comfy downstairs sitting area, and cozy dining room and another kitchenette area with a fridge (stocked with complimentary sodas and water), water pot for tea, hot chocolate, etc, and coffee. Oh yay! We stayed in Enid, the largest of the rooms. Very spacious with a sitting area of two chairs and a table, a couple of nightstands, a chest of drawers, a queen sized bed (very comfy and cozy), a fireplace, a small cable tv and dvd player, and cd/radio. It was actually really nice to unplug a bit so we didn't really watch any tv but it was there if you need it. Instead we mostly just lounged around listening to classical music on the radio and Prairie Home Companion. Fit the feel of the room nicely! The adjoining bathroom is a good size too with a lovely and deep clawfoot bathtub (that I definitely took a soak in. AHHH so nice!) and a separate shower. Complimentary bathrobes added to the cozy feeling and the windows had a lovely view for just perching and looking outside. Add that to the most amazing massage ever (seriously, one of the best I've ever had and I'm hard to please) and I walked out of there feeling completely rested and rejuvenated. The hosts/owners, Sal and Gregg are just lovely. Really friendly and chatty, I felt like an honored guest. And they are no slouches in the kitchen, either! Our breakfasts were DELICIOUS. The first day I had the eggs benedict (although the smell of the waffles sure were intoxicating!) and the next morning I had the sweet potato pancakes which I had to force myself to stop eating because they were so tasty but oh so filling! The grounds are lovely and I can't wait to come back in warmer weather for a sit on the porch looking at the trees and Kalamazoo river peaking through (while their super friendly kitty Oscar rubs against your ankles--but don't worry cat allergy folks, kitty does not come into the guest quarters. We only saw him chillin' outside). If you've never been to a B&B I highly recommend starting with Beechwood Manor. Although it's likely any others you visit may not live up!

I was…read moreon a visit from Texas and we planned the last few days of my trip to visit there and partake in some fun shopping. My sister and her husband were there years before and had a nice experience. We drove from West Bloomfield which was a two hour straight shot. The parking was easily accessible. The inn is quaint and cozy. We felt welcomed, but there are a few things that Jan, the innkeeper, should note. The interior is very nice, but needs better upkeeping. The room that we were in seemingly had a quick slight over easy "hit or miss" cleaning. The furniture had not been dusted and there were many dust bunnies in the corners of the room. The shower took 10 minutes to get warm. I had taken one at night. The bathroom rug needs to be replaced. It was more of a loose old carpeted rug which can harbor bacteria and didn't seem to have been washed. A better recommendation will be the foam sponge Clara Clark type bathroom mat to use. The toiletries need to be replaced every time new guests arrive if they have been used. There were two bottles of shampoo that were half used remaining there. We didn't touch those. I do not drink tap water and hotels always have at least two complimentary bottles of water. I asked Jan if she had any bottled water and she did not. I had to resort to getting regular water from her refrigerator dispenser. Even a couple of the small 4-6 ounces of bottled water in the guest room would have sufficed. We sat on the back porch prior to breakfast which was a very opened and relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast we had that Monday morning was somewhat continental. The fruit was farm fresh, the coffee and juices were delicious, and her pastry of an apple French toast roll was very nice, but there was no protein. We were looking forward to scrambled eggs to say the least. Protein should be included in the breakfasts. During mid afternoon we saw baggies with chopped up pieces of granola inside. I took a bag in the evening and had to throw the granola away because it was stale. The inn is conveniently located in town. Just walk a few steps and you're welcome to visit most of the shops. A few were closed on both Sunday and Monday. The waterfront is in walking proximity as well. The boat ride adventure was very nice and the restaurants' cuisines were scrumptious. We managed to go to the Douglas Beach, but could not partake in the water because it was too cold, but it was very beautiful. I only saw one picture for the review prior to my input. I have attached a few additional pics. I noticed some people commented about the folks working at The Inn of Saugatuck with emphasis on the innkeeper. Jan was cordial, nice, slightly standoffish, but we figured for some reason that was her personality. She was not rude whatsoever. All in all the visit was very nice, but for the recommended reasons above I am giving four out of five stars. I would not hesitate to visit The Inn of Saugatuck again.
