Eggs Benedict with herb roasted potatoes (so good!)

Pretty good! Good food, comfy bed, clean, prompt and pleasant service. I would have appreciated higher quality toilet paper and tissues. The shower is a rain shower so it was hard to rinse off when I wasn't washing my hair. This isn't a big deal but it would have felt cozier to see some local art on the walls since it's a really artsy community - the vibe was fine just flat.

They thought of EVERYTHING! I love the "makeup" towels.

Yes! Another 5 star review for the Hotel Saugatuck, because they absolutely deserve it! The Hotel Saugatuck is a bed and breakfast, but perhaps, not in the most traditional sense. Instead of the communal breakfast table and grandmother's bed linens images that the mention of a B&B might conjure, the Hotel Saugatuck offers the ultimate private, romantic getaway, and a perfect introduction to the B&B lifestyle for newbies like me. We stayed in the Douglas cottage, a duplex detached from the main house. The newly renovated property still smells new, and the decor is chic with the most modern amenities. The bed was absolute heaven!! I will be calling to learn the brands of both the bed and sheets! Dessert is delivered nightly, and you schedule breakfast delivery to your room at checkin. Overall, a super luxurious experience, and I cannot wait to tell friends and return myself! Finally, take your time when booking and explore the website, which offers virtual tours of all the rooms. A full night's deposit is due at booking, so do not be caught off guard.

This place is magical! The best romantic get away spot. It is private, cozy, clean, and completely updated. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the grounds were gorgeous. We had a late check in, but upon entering our room our dessert was waiting. Breakfast was prompt at the time we requested, and oh so delicious! Beautiful view of Lake Kalamazoo across the way, and a small pond on the grounds where you can watch the wildlife scurry about.

Booked for my husband and I's first trip away from baby and it was a wonderful stay! We loved riding the bikes down town to explore! Food to the room was a nice little treat, the fireplace was hot and it was nice to be able to actually open the windows for some fresh air. Shower and tub clean/easy to use. Would recommend to others and we would def. stay here again! We came to town during off season so a bunch of stuff was not open but we still had the best time!

The Lakeshore room view is not quite as accurate as advertised on website. Your lake view is covered by construction and a Port-a-potty. The room is spacious, clean and the tub is very nice. The breakfast and dessert are a highlight. We did encounter very loud banging from the room above simply walking which impacted our nights sleep. The walls are thin and walking around above us was incredibly disruptive, not quite the quiet lakeside view babymoon we hoped for. We had a nice visit however, the accommodations for the price per night were a bit overrated.

We had a great stay at Hotel Saugatuck. The room was spotless clean. The breakfast & nightly dessert sent to our rooms every day was always delicious as well. Service from the employees was always quick and friendly. Location of the hotel was close to everything. Just a couple minute drive into both downtown Saugatuck & Douglass. Took less than 10 min to drive to the beach. Only things worth noting is that there is construction across the street so it doesn't have a lake view unless you walk across. Wasn't a huge deal, but wasn't expecting that. They also only had two bikes that were working which given the size of hotel isn't many. We didn't run into any issues not being able to use them though. All in all, would highly recommend for a romantic getaway.

My husband and I booked the Clipson Room for our anniversary. We were both completely blown away with our experience here. We walked in to an extremely clean room with the sweetest card greeting us. They had set up champagne on ice, chocolate covered strawberries, a plate with desserts, and a basket with free snacks for us. It was just perfect. The fireplace turned on with just the flip of a switch and added the perfect ambiance to our romantic night. We used the jet tub, and it looked and smelt very clean as well, even when the jets were running, which was comforting when you are using a hotel tub! My husband used the shower which had multiple shower heads, and he said was one of the highlights of our trip. The toilet room has a door that you can close off without closing off the sink and vanity, which was also handy. The linens were amazing as well. The owners were readily available by text and were very prompt in responding to our questions. In the morning, breakfast was provided to our room at no additional cost, and it was delicious as well. They had a variety of choices of hot and cold beverages and 3 choices for meals. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a romantic getaway or just a very positive experience. We have decided we will have to go back at some point.

Wow! Booked a couple of nights to get-away for my 50th birthday and was not disappointed! Spectacular room with everything that my husband and I needed to, not only be comfortable, but to stay in if we chose. A perfect location right in the heart of everything that Saugatuck has to offer. Josh and Amy were very accommodating and friendly! We could not ask for better host and hostess! The desserts and breakfasts delivered right to our door very evening and morning were 5-star. This place covered every little detail and then some. We will definitely be visiting again.

From the moment I was researching and communicating with Jenn the innkeeper, until the moment we checked in and met Steve and Jimmy, we felt comfortable and welcomed and so happy with our choice. The house has been transformed into eight separate bedrooms with their own private bath, and each is well appointed with the most luxurious bedding and soft pillows and mattress. I loved the pillow so much that I ordered one to be shipped to my home! Steve and Jimmy greeted us with a glass of wine and a little history of the building and the area and gave restaurant recommendations and things to do. Each morning Jenn created a wonderful three course breakfast that kept me full all day until dinner. Waking up for the 930 spread was the highlight of each morning! Nothing was store-bought, nothing. She is a master baker and chef and takes pride in her presentation and selection of food. I have never stated at a B&B and was concerned that it would feel like sharing space with strangers, but that was not the case. The first night was a full house with all 8 rooms occupied and everyone was respectful of each other. Jenn and Steve were available as much as we wanted them to be, but gave us our space to do our own thing. I would highly recommend staying at Judson Heath and let Jimmy, Jenn and Steve show you around their cute, quaint and adorably perfect town.

This place has a ton of perfect or near perfect ratings across review sites, and I can see why!…read more We booked this B&B inn for our wedding anniversary celebration, and it was perfect. Steve and Jenn were excellent hosts. They gave us restaurant recommendations and a brief history of the building (established in 1837!). Jenn cooked an amazing 3-course breakfast daily, and I devoured every bite. My favorites were the baked goods, like blueberry cake. We stayed in the Elton room on the top floor that had a lot of nice touches and character to it. It had a jacuzzi (although don't use it past 10pm to avoid disrupting the guests below)! The bed was comfortable, and the views overlooking the Japanese garden and two different streets were nice. You also use a vintage key to open and lock the room. The location is awesome, and everything is walkable from this inn. Keep in mind that there are about four car spots in the lot, but there is generally free street parking as well. One of the highlights at this inn is definitely Steve's and Jenn's Chihuahua dog named Jimmie! He is absolutely adorable and greeted us upon arrival as well as throughout our stay. During breakfast, he was sniffing the ground for dropped food from guests. It must have worked in the past because he knew when it was time to come out! I highly recommend staying here. We'll be back in the future!

From the moment we entered, we received the kindest of hospitality. Scott, the innkeeper, provided us with so much wonderful information on things to do, where to eat and was kind in addressing any of our needs. We had a "romance" package which included wine, $50 credit to a restaurant and chocolate. The room was cozy with a faux fire place and a room overlooking some trees and down to the water. As for the breakfast (ALSO INCLUDED), it was amazing. Scott outdid himself with the quality of breakfast and service. I cannot recommend this place enough. We will be going back. T

The best. THE BEST!…read more Love Beechwood Manor! Stayed here a few weeks ago for my birthday weekend when I found a special online for 2 nights plus one one hour free in-room massage, gift certificate to a restaurant in downtown Saugatuck, and of course the two complimentary brekkies (being that it's a B&B, of course) for $388. Such a steal! The house itself is lovely. Built in the 1870s and renovated a bit but still keeping that Victorian charm. A comfy downstairs sitting area, and cozy dining room and another kitchenette area with a fridge (stocked with complimentary sodas and water), water pot for tea, hot chocolate, etc, and coffee. Oh yay! We stayed in Enid, the largest of the rooms. Very spacious with a sitting area of two chairs and a table, a couple of nightstands, a chest of drawers, a queen sized bed (very comfy and cozy), a fireplace, a small cable tv and dvd player, and cd/radio. It was actually really nice to unplug a bit so we didn't really watch any tv but it was there if you need it. Instead we mostly just lounged around listening to classical music on the radio and Prairie Home Companion. Fit the feel of the room nicely! The adjoining bathroom is a good size too with a lovely and deep clawfoot bathtub (that I definitely took a soak in. AHHH so nice!) and a separate shower. Complimentary bathrobes added to the cozy feeling and the windows had a lovely view for just perching and looking outside. Add that to the most amazing massage ever (seriously, one of the best I've ever had and I'm hard to please) and I walked out of there feeling completely rested and rejuvenated. The hosts/owners, Sal and Gregg are just lovely. Really friendly and chatty, I felt like an honored guest. And they are no slouches in the kitchen, either! Our breakfasts were DELICIOUS. The first day I had the eggs benedict (although the smell of the waffles sure were intoxicating!) and the next morning I had the sweet potato pancakes which I had to force myself to stop eating because they were so tasty but oh so filling! The grounds are lovely and I can't wait to come back in warmer weather for a sit on the porch looking at the trees and Kalamazoo river peaking through (while their super friendly kitty Oscar rubs against your ankles--but don't worry cat allergy folks, kitty does not come into the guest quarters. We only saw him chillin' outside). If you've never been to a B&B I highly recommend starting with Beechwood Manor. Although it's likely any others you visit may not live up!

I was…read moreon a visit from Texas and we planned the last few days of my trip to visit there and partake in some fun shopping. My sister and her husband were there years before and had a nice experience. We drove from West Bloomfield which was a two hour straight shot. The parking was easily accessible. The inn is quaint and cozy. We felt welcomed, but there are a few things that Jan, the innkeeper, should note. The interior is very nice, but needs better upkeeping. The room that we were in seemingly had a quick slight over easy "hit or miss" cleaning. The furniture had not been dusted and there were many dust bunnies in the corners of the room. The shower took 10 minutes to get warm. I had taken one at night. The bathroom rug needs to be replaced. It was more of a loose old carpeted rug which can harbor bacteria and didn't seem to have been washed. A better recommendation will be the foam sponge Clara Clark type bathroom mat to use. The toiletries need to be replaced every time new guests arrive if they have been used. There were two bottles of shampoo that were half used remaining there. We didn't touch those. I do not drink tap water and hotels always have at least two complimentary bottles of water. I asked Jan if she had any bottled water and she did not. I had to resort to getting regular water from her refrigerator dispenser. Even a couple of the small 4-6 ounces of bottled water in the guest room would have sufficed. We sat on the back porch prior to breakfast which was a very opened and relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast we had that Monday morning was somewhat continental. The fruit was farm fresh, the coffee and juices were delicious, and her pastry of an apple French toast roll was very nice, but there was no protein. We were looking forward to scrambled eggs to say the least. Protein should be included in the breakfasts. During mid afternoon we saw baggies with chopped up pieces of granola inside. I took a bag in the evening and had to throw the granola away because it was stale. The inn is conveniently located in town. Just walk a few steps and you're welcome to visit most of the shops. A few were closed on both Sunday and Monday. The waterfront is in walking proximity as well. The boat ride adventure was very nice and the restaurants' cuisines were scrumptious. We managed to go to the Douglas Beach, but could not partake in the water because it was too cold, but it was very beautiful. I only saw one picture for the review prior to my input. I have attached a few additional pics. I noticed some people commented about the folks working at The Inn of Saugatuck with emphasis on the innkeeper. Jan was cordial, nice, slightly standoffish, but we figured for some reason that was her personality. She was not rude whatsoever. All in all the visit was very nice, but for the recommended reasons above I am giving four out of five stars. I would not hesitate to visit The Inn of Saugatuck again.
