I had my Ford Ranger automatic transmission rebuilt at Valley Transmission approximately 25K miles…read moreago and have now experienced multiple parts failures the most recent being the input speed sensor (the manual lever position sensor failed right after the rebuild was completed). I was informed by an employee at Valley Transmission that they had used Chinese parts to do the rebuild. For $3400 dollars I was expecting OEM parts so this came as a total surprise to me. As far as I can tell the work done by the Valley Transmission mechanic was solid but the Chinese parts used in the rebuild are of inferior manufacture and the warranty is expired so I am now left $3400 poorer with a nonfunctional vehicle. RESPONSE TO VALLEY TRANSMISSIONS RESPONSE: Sheryl, It doesn't matter where they were purchased from. I was informed by a Valley Transmission employee that they were Chinese manufactured parts. With multiple failures (one right after the rebuild) the parts used in the rebuild are clearly of inferior manufacture.

I had the transmission replaced after three months of it being in the shop to pick it up with the exact same problem. John stated he could not figure out the issue and would have a specialist take a look. Told us once again it was fixed and ready to go. We picked it up a third time same problem. After four months we find another place to take it in. Upon pick up the car was smoking so bad we could hardly see around us, the car had trouble starting and felt like it would shut off at any moment. I explained to John I had a newborn and what was I supposed to do. He response was "not my fault they sent us a bad part". It was the EXACT same problem since day one now with much more problems and he was blaming the new parts. Worst professionalism I've ever come across. Just kept going back to blaming the new parts. Mechanics work on cars to help people I thought and this drunk mechanic ruined my car, to the point where I'm having trouble getting a mechanic to help get my car running again. I cry every day because of them and what they did. And the secretary sounds so nice on the phone but she was back stabbing and lying to me the whole time, she knew what was going on with my car and backed them 100%.
