I had my Ford Ranger automatic transmission rebuilt at Valley Transmission approximately 25K miles ago and have now experienced multiple parts failures the most recent being the input speed sensor (the manual lever position sensor failed right after the rebuild was completed). I was informed by an employee at Valley Transmission that they had used Chinese parts to do the rebuild. For $3400 dollars I was expecting OEM parts so this came as a total surprise to me. As far as I can tell the work done by the Valley Transmission mechanic was solid but the Chinese parts used in the rebuild are of inferior manufacture and the warranty is expired so I am now left $3400 poorer with a nonfunctional vehicle. RESPONSE TO VALLEY TRANSMISSIONS RESPONSE: Sheryl, It doesn't matter where they were purchased from. I was informed by a Valley Transmission employee that they were Chinese manufactured parts. With multiple failures (one right after the rebuild) the parts used in the rebuild are clearly of inferior manufacture. read more

I was recommended from quantum mechanics to Valley transmission for them to fix the code problem that I was having for my 2012 Ford Focus the code that kept coming up was P285D and it was not clearing off of my car I took it in on Thursday the 17th they don't work on Friday Saturday or Sunday and Monday the 21st it was my actuator which I knew from the code I looked up they charged me $424.99 I got my car back on the 22nd and today is the 23rd and the code is popping back up they say that they need my car and it might be a computer issue I would not recommend going there matter of fact I'm going to try to find a different company to repair this and get it fixed for the final time don't go to Valley transmission differential read more

Edit to respond to thier comment. So much to say to you guys. He's said he couldn't hear any noise on either trans when we bright them back? He said he couldn't before he " black listed" us Joe put it. My son never raised his voice or yeld. You said one thing and did another on so much. Over all it's excuse after excuse and not wanting to fix your mistakes even the basic ones. You pinched a wire and he didn't have a bad switch. They worked on two of our transmissions and will never work on another. They said they would get us in and out but made us wait 4 months for the first truck and we still had to take it back for them to fix it right after we got it back. They quoted us one price then charged us $400 more when we got it back. The second truck didn't take as long but still had to go back for repairs right after we got it and they also once again quoted us one price and charged more. We took the last truck back for a loud throw out bearing noise as well as two leaks 4 days after our warranty went out and they said they couldn't hear a thing and that the noise and leaks were not his problem. Joe says one thing and does another. They use cheap parts and don't care for their customers. It's a poor way to do business. Stand behind your work and stop cussing out customers. read more

If I could give them negative stars I would. I took my 77 620 Datsun here to rebuilt the 5-speed manual and they quoted me$1200-$1300 and later they charged me $1700 and I had to bring it back for more fluid. They denied they quoted me that low and I had to pay $1700, what ever it's only money. I brought my 94 Chevy s10 for a rebuild on my 5-speed because they are one of the few who will work on a manual transmission. They had my truck for multiple months and once they gave me my truck I had to bring it back immediately because they didn't do all the work they were supposed to do and I didn't have any back up lights. I brought it in again after a couple of weeks and told them it was grinding when shifting into second and I think the synchro is bad. He treated me like I didn't know what I was talking about and told me it just needs to be driven more and if it happens again within a week to bring it in. I kept record of how many times it happened and showed them. He begrudgingly said he will take it on a test drive. He called me back and said it didn't grind while he drove it and he refuses to open a transmission that has nothing wrong. He said I could take him on a test drive and the first time I shifted into second it grinds. I convinced him to open it up and sure enough the synchro was bad. Eventually I notice my transmission was squealing when I let go of my clutch and knew my throw out bearing went bad just after a year of use. I didn't even hit the 10,000 mile mark. When I went under to make sure that's where the noise was coming from I noticed the transmission was leaking in the back and my transfer case was leaking. I brought it in and he looked at it and told me my transmission wasn't leaking but my transfer case was and he heard no noise from my transmission. When I asked him to fix it under warranty he told me it was expired by 4 days. 4 DAYS!!! After I went out and started the truck it was squealing and brought him out and he once again said he never heard the noise and then told me I was black listed and he wouldn't touch my vehicles again. Not only are they over priced but they won't work with you at all and he will black listed you for holding him accountable. read more

I was traveling from Bozeman, MT, and my shifting was kind of rough for about 6 hours. Since that is exactly how it acts when the fluid is dirty, I wasn't alarmed. After parking in Spokeane, I noticed a small leak and realized that it was serious. I drove to the dealership, and they told me that "maybe they would fit me in" and "there are 30 people ahead [of me]". I contacted one transmission shop that wouldn't service KIAs, and they told me to go to Valley. I called, and they told me to come in. They worked on my car since it was the first thing in the morning, and they fixed the leak in less than 2 hours and topped-off my fluid. They are great people, and they didn't even charge me. Since it was just a lose c-clamp on the hose, they tightened it, filled it up, and sent me on my way. I haven't run into a single problem since, and I am very happy with my service. read more

As a full time RVer keeping my tow vehicle in good working order is critical but service appointments can be hard to come by in an area where you are a visitor passing through. Valley Transmission came highly recommended by a local friend and her local mechanic. They were able to get me in to evaluate the problem within just a few days of my call, getting back to me first thing Monday morning. Joe checked the codes and fluid and off we went for a check ride. Very quickly his years of experience told him the torque converter I was certain was at the root of the noises I was hearing was not the problem. He put the truck through it's paces and took the time to educate me on how best to drive in mountains while towing in order to extend the life of my truck. After the check ride and the all good on my transmission he took it in the shop and helped identify the source of the noises...a muffler issue. The people here seem honest. I went in after doing a rear main seal change on my 2001 Suburban with 300K miles because I couldn't figure out what was causing a clunking and grinding noise. The sound was so bad I couldn't help but think of the worst possibility. It could have been so many things but after a test drive and a quick inspection I was told it was a miss routed shifter cable. They asked if I'd done the work on my back, I said yes but everything looked good and was mostly in denial that it could be said shifter cable. They tie wrapped the cable and the noise was gone! Wow, I guess things do look different when using a lift to do the work! This place could have either charged me for inspecting the vehicle, repairs or who knows what; instead they operated with more than simple honesty and integrity, they were helpful also! In the end I need a new cable because of the lining being worn on the original, what can I say, I'll gladly take that over rebuilding the T-case or the front diff. I felt indebted and wanted to buy lunch but the fellow refused my money so here I am trying to pay it forward. I brought my jeep to Valley Transmission after being referred by Prior's Auto Care for a clanking noise coming from the under carriage. After a test drive,putting it up on the lift and checking the noise with a scope and checking fluid it was initially diagnosed as a bearing going bad in the transmission. Joe said it would take a few days and gave me a quote. He gave me a call the next day and said the transmission and transfer case were perfect and seen absolutely nothing wrong with either. The only thing was the clutch had about 40% life left and could be the cause of the noise. If I choose to leave the clutch then I just received a free transmission and transfer case inspection. If I would like to change out the clutch it would be 60% of the original quoted price. I agreed to go ahead and make the repairs. He called the next day and said it was done. I picked it up and the clanking was gone, shifted smoother...it was perfect. I thanked them for their service and gladly paid my bill. These guys could have taken me to the cleaners And I would never have known. But, they are honest and operate their business with integrity. I appreciate how they do business and the quality work they do. Any future repairs on my vehicles will be done by Valley Transmission. read more
