Basic pizza shop I've passed by this location a bunch of times, and always liked the design of the place but never enough to try it. Decided to make a lunch trek, and see if they were any good. Coming in, there's a single person manning the helm. We thumb through the menu then flag them down to order. We get a smattering of slices, the loaded fries and the steak and cheese egg rolls. We were not sure where the blackened pizza slice came from on the kitchen floor, but we ignored it and opted to eat to go. Food came out reasonably quick. Took our pics then swapped bites. The egg rolls were as described. Steak and cheese in a wonton fried. Very one note, crispy and greasy with only a weak cheese sauce flavor. Not bad, but basic. The fries were very much college dorm nachos style. They had a thin coat of cheese over matchstick fries with toppings that fell through to the bottom. The cheese solidified quickly which welded the fries together into a giant clump. Not great, but if it's late at night and you're drunk they do scratch that greasy horribleness itch one can get. The pizza had a good crust, but the sauce and cheese were lackluster. The dough was fresh and cooked through, but the sauce was weak and no tomato flavor and the cheese was non-existent. The toppings on the specialty pizza's were pretty good, they just had a horrible base to work off of. As one of the few options for pizza in that area, you would be remiss to find much better pizza around. It's not great, but it is functional. read more

This place was great. I ordered years ago, but didn't get pizza, and we didn't enjoy much. I read they had new owners so we ordered a chicken parm pizza and tendies. Both were fantastic. I could smell the tendies on the way home & couldn't wait to dig in. Crispy, generously seasoned and the sauces were delicious. We tried hot garlic, Thai chili and honey bbq. The chicken parm pizza had a marinara sauce, cutlet, provolone and fried peppers and onions. Crust was crisp, cheese was perfectly browned and just smothering the crispy cutlet. I'd triple the peppers, just my preference, because they were so good. We will definitely be using them as our go to pizza joint in the area. The guys were super friendly when I picked up and looks like they're going great things to patio! So glad I gave a second shot!! read more

We managed to get lost on our way to the David Hayes Sculpture Fields and were getting hungry on Labor Day. I spotted this pizzeria, pulled a u-turn and walked in hoping pizza by the slice was available. I happily discovered that there were several varieties offered including one of my margarita, one of my favorites. The pizza is thin, New Haven style without the brick oven, but still better than most. I did encounter a communication problem in that the pizza was not reheated before being boxed, but it still was very good. Unfortunately we live on the other side of the Connecticut River and do not frequent this area often so it is unlikely we will be back any time soon. read more

Stopped in for an early dinner. Place was not busy and no masks were observed on the staff. Ordered the garlic bread with cheese, cheese steak sandwich and the genoa salami grinder. Decided to dine in. Food came pretty quickly and was served as a take home meal. Garlic bread had plenty of garlic and cheese and came with marinara sauce. The bread was a panini roll. Nice and hot, roll was very soft and the marinara sauce was good. Where everything falls down is with the sandwiches. The Genoa grinder (12 inch) had 6 slices of meat on it. It was served warm as requested but there was so little meat that I ended up eating just the meat and cheese. Bread was nice and warm but without any meat it didn't really matter. Bread should have had oil sprinkled on it but if it was it was about two drops. Totally dry once you removed the meat and cheese. Same could be said fir the cheese steak sandwich. Not much meat and not much flavor. This is our first time trying the Coventry location we normally order our pizzas from the Hebron location and they never disappoint. But we won't be coming back to the Coventry location anytime soon. A complete disappointment and waste of money In my book. Should also add the table was dirty with crumbs and the floor under it appeared to have particles of hamburger. Was hard to tell when the seating are had been cleaned last. read more

We have tried a few pizza variations over the months as well as some non pizza items. Pizza: first time was a thin overcooked pie. 80% of the crust was burnt and inedible. We still gave them another chance at a different time, and the same result. One of the pizzas was fine, the 2nd, burnt. The quality control just doesn't seem to matter. They are also priced a little higher than most take out only pizza places. Next we tried a few oven toasted subs. They were all mediocre at best. Not all that fresh ingredients and hastily assembled. The eggplant was missing the eggplant and seems to be a triple fried and baked shell of batter. I'm was not impressed with the quality of any of the ingredients. The grinders ive recieved had bread that was dry snd fried chicken nearly overcooked with an obvious taste of burntness. I have also ordered pizza here on sunday night and recieved the "last customer screw you" treatment, the pizzas crust was very hard and the cheese tasted burnt. Before i moved, i had a pizza place i really liked where dinner combos where $12. This time i decided to order one of their dinner combos, chicken and broccoli pasta. What i got was dry pasta and chicken with black chars from the grill all over, furthermore i expected broccoli florets but the product used was packaged frozen broccoli (I can tell because ive worked in kitchens for years). It doesn't seem to me the cooks really care about the food (or cook at all really). A pasta dinner priced at $15 should have been much better. The menu is pretty pretentious for a place that uses mostly frozen products, ive realized now after giving this place multiple chances that the food is just garbage, and im not ordering from here anymore. read more

I've lived in this area for over 30 years and have to say this was the worst take out I've ever had. The pizza looked like a frozen pizza and the crust tasted like a chemical disinfectant. The grinder had barely any meat and some salad mix for the veggies. The Greek salad was horrible. Only lettuce with a minuscule amount of feta. Asked the employee at least 3x for dressing and he insisted it was in the container, it was not. We threw the pizza out as we were afraid of giving it to the kids with such a strong chemical taste. I used to love this place but I feel like the staff could give 2 shits for their customers. I love the menu. In the past, when the staff cared, the food was great. If you get lucky and the owner is in there, the pizza is good. Usually though, it's cold, they forget to put it in the oven for you, the chicken isn't cook all the way in the grinders, and the salads will contain all the things you asked them to hold. Believe me, this is not a 1 try bad experience review. Things happen, busy nights can mean less optimal food even from the best places. That's not been my experience. It's always dead in there, and the kids always act like we are breaking up the party. I am local and have given them many many times constantly hoping whatever the problem is in the kitchen, that's it's corrected. It's sad that it hasn't been. Im writing this review hoping they read it bc you guys have something special here but your complete lack of acting like you serve is destroying it. You are NOT the only game in town. Honestly, it would take a tiny bit of customer service improvement and this place could be the top spot in Tolland and Windham counties. Get your shit together. read more

Regardless of them no longer being open, I did want to put a review out there to highlight the great things Wicked Slice brought to Coventry. One- I was hesitant and not excited when I learned that another pizza place was coming to Coventry. We already have two (average at best) pizza places. That immediately changed with my first bite into Wicked pizza. Their pizza was a step above the rest and was always hot, fresh, and delicious. They also had a lot of fun with experimenting with different pizza toppings (and things you wouldn't ever expect to see on pizza like literally chicken tenders) and it was fun to try their new menu items! Two- Wicked Slice was amazing to the Coventry community. In their short time open in Coventry they truly made an impact-- offering free pizza for school and library events, as well as being present at town functions selling their slices. I hope Wicked Slice reopens in Coventry soon as we all miss their pizza read more

Don't go by the posted prices...because apparently they don't mean anything. I went here tonight with my son and ordered two slices of cheese and two slices of pepperoni to go. While waiting for them to be heated up, I was looking at the chalkboards hung above the kitchen with some menu items and specials. One of the specials was a combo deal for any two slices and a can of soda for $5.75. So when my slices were ready I said I would take the special deal with the cans of soda. She told me the total, which was over $13 and I immediately knew something was off. I asked for a receipt and when I got it, I saw that the combo deal price was listed at $6.50, not $5.75 as on the board. The manager was standing right there so I brought it to his attention. He looked at my receipt and said "oh. Yeah. The prices went up." That's it. No apology. No refund. Nothing. I stood there waiting for him to offer me a refund or something considering he had an advertised price right in front of us and NOTHING showing the higher price I was charged. Yet apparently, he felt he could charge me whatever he wanted and I would just take it. Which I did. And now will never come back. read more

Decided to give this place a try again. What a mistake. Ordered a sandwich and the guy making it came back up to the counter to answer the phone and tap an order into the touchscreen they use. He did this wearing the gloves he had been wearing to make my sandwich. When he was done on the phone and touching the counter, phone and touchscreen panel he went back to making my sandwich WEARING THE SAME GLOVES.
