We showed up around 6:15-6:30ish on a Saturday night, and it took around 10ish minutes to get seated. I always recommend coming as early as possible/close to opening, if you don't want to wait for a while, especially when bigger groups show up ahead of you. Wow! We happened upon the Wicked Rabbit when driving downtown and are very glad we stopped in. This chill and almost mystical gem is hidden behind a seemingly normal liquor store. If you don't know that there is a bar there, they won't say anything. You have to let them know that you want to go to the bar and I would encourage you to tip the guy in order to get in. I was in Omaha for the first time on a business trip. After my coworker and I were done with work, we decided to walk around the Old Market area and decided to see if there were any speakeasys nearby. A quick google search brought up Wicked Rabbit which opened at 5pm. We walked into the Looking Glass which is a small wine, beer and liquor store. We asked about the speakeasy and the guy checked our id's and opened the door to let us in. We sat at the bar and our bartender, Bridget, was so nice! She recommended the Planter's Punch and El Diablo. She was more than happy to substitute the ginger beer for something non-carbonated for my coworker. The super cool thing about these cocktails were that they were flaming cocktails! Make sure to sit back because it's a pretty large flame. The Planter's Punch was so good! It's one of those drinks that will sneak up on you if you have too many. It was really cool watching her make other cocktails. We noticed a really pretty one and she said they had just come up with it 5 minutes ago and called it The Orphan Brandy (since it was the opening night for Annie at the Orpheum across the street). We also ordered that and it was sweet but very good! When it's time to leave the bar, there's a separate exit on the side of the bar instead of going back through the entrance to the Lookkng Glass. read more

10/10 Speakeasy!! I will definitely come back here every time I'm in Omaha. The atmosphere was very chill and cool, and it's also acceptable to dress casual too! The pictures with starred menu items were the drinks I tried, and ALL of them were SO tasty, and I am a fan of sweeter drinks! Ryan was our waiter (and he also bartends) and his recommends never failed us. To get in, enter the door to "Looking Glass Spirits", and tell the cashier that you're there for "The Wicked Rabbit". Can understand just joking around and maybe in an area that is free or empty...but kinda not great if customers can hear you. An upscale speakeasy that is a great experience! The drinks are beautiful and boozy and delicious!

First, I have to give them major props for designing a hidden door that was so hard to detect that for the 15-20 minutes we waited for a table (on a Tuesday evening around Christmas), I couldn't figure out where the door was hidden. You really could walk into this place, assume it's a small liquor store, buy a bottle, and walk out without ever suspecting it's a speakeasy. That is, if the crowds of people standing in the very small space didn't give it away. The doorman was not super friendly...it could have been a really cool atmosphere, but the vibe was downright chilly in there. It was sort of like he was annoyed about having to work that night and tired of all these happy people enjoying the holidays. Meh. That and the fact that the waitress never brought us any water are the two negatives here. Their menu has a good selection of solid, classic drinks, many of which you probably haven't encountered elsewhere if you've never been to a cocktail bar outside of Omaha. Looking for something a little more adventurous, I asked for a bartender's choice based on a stated preference (first amaro-forward, then Chartreuse/Benedictine vibes) and really enjoyed both my drinks. The waitress told me that my second drink had previously been on their menu. It wasn't very complex, but it was nice. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth stopping by here. I'd be curious(er and curiouser) to sit at the bar next time and see what the vibe is like with the bartenders, which is my preferred bar experience anyway. You don't really get a choice here, unfortunately -- when you're let in, you're told exactly where to sit. read more

When inside, the bar is a little cramped with a nice sitting area in the back. The dark decor goes along spectacularly with the speakeasy theme. The drinks were great, but definitely overpriced. The quaint, dimly lit lounge and bar is inconspicuously hidden behind a shelf within an ordinary liquor store aptly titled as 'Looking Glass'. If you are feeling the speakeasy vibes, the secret signal for entry is to ask the attendant for the $1000 bottle of wine and he/she will pull secret door handle posed as the bottle of wine. However, this place is poppin' so there is usually a considerable line which does reveal the hidden speakeasy. Immediately, you are transported to a mysterious, yet sophisticated speakeasy that has aged perfectly. Cocktails were amazing - delicious and strong. A wide selection of creative concoctions is presented and every cocktail we ordered was heavenly and will leave you feeling good. Even the drinks are an experience in themselves too - from the unique glassware to the exciting garnishes (I'll be honest, I ordered a drink simply for the flames).
