I was surprised to see so many negative reviews about this place. But I'm here as usual to leave an honest review. To be honest, I have been here about a handful of times. All of my trips here seemed good. But today, my review is based on my recent visit. August 13, 2025. Every time we have some the outside is always wonderfully up kept. They even have a few places to sit outside and a giant checker board to play and a few other things to do. The plantings are also very nice to view outside. Inside is air conditioned and nicely decorated and clean. There is a small side room to the right upon entering which I'm guessing may be a room to rent for a party. We noticed two boards that had ice cream flavors and their descriptions. One was outside just before you enter and the other was straight ahead after you come inside. If you veer to the left you will see the icecream counter. And turning more into that area you will see a few more tables to sit and have your ice cream. I was pleased with the cleanliness of the place and there was no bad odors. There were some amazing flavors of icecream to choose from. One of them appearing very tie-dyed and exciting looking. There were three of us in this trip. I got one scoop of the Heaps of love ice cream. Which turned out to be pretty big for only one scoop and I got that in a chocolate dipped waffle cone of-course! The quality of the icecream was pretty good! I enjoyed it very much but I definitely did not find my favorite just yet. Person number two got one scoop of cotton candy ice cream and one scoop of birthday Ice cream in a bowl. He was very happy with his ice cream and ate all of his ice cream! Person number three got cotton candy ice cream and said he liked it better than the name brand ice cream we buy from the grocery store. The two women that worked behind the counter were kind and courteous and wished us a great day upon leaving. We enjoyed our visit! We were there when it was slow. There was only one other couple there before us who were still deciding on their choices when we got there and let us go. They had great things to say about the place and had been there many times. I have yet to have a bad experience here. Even when I came last year. Yes they were slow last year and the younger teenager behind the counter was immature but we took that for what that was. People also complained that this place was expensive. It cost us under $20.00 for what we got and it was good quality ice cream. But this is also Uppity Sturbridge Ma. You can expect to pay more here anyway! It is what it is. I feel this was a good experience and I do recommend Wicked licks. One thing to add here is that wicked Licks is located in a very easy area to come and go! It's at the turn around at the light. They have a fair amount of parking too! read more

This place should be EMBARRASSED. Just cut to the chase - don't advertise "scoops". 1 scoop is 1oz, 2 is 2oz, and 3 MAYBE 3 ounces. Wicked Links isn't a chain and their ice cream isn't made on premises. They bring it in from a Wisconsin creamery. It's a super premium ice cream made with 14% butterfat and a low percentage of air so it comes out super rich and dense. The printing on their cups tells the story - "It's not low-fat, low-calorie or low-anything. You want low calorie? Eat carrots". Anyway, we each ordered a small cup ($3.75) with a free topping. I went with the oddly named Exhausted Parent (Bourbon-spiked espresso ice cream swirled with bittersweet chocolate chunks) and my wife went for Coconut Almond Bliss (coconut ice cream, chocolate flakes, and almond pieces). My topping was crushed sugar cone and her topping was chocolate sprinkles - both were included with the price of the single scoop. I liked my espresso/chocolate ice cream a lot. Great taste and the crushed cone pieces added some nice crunch to the dish. It wasn't the biggest "small" dish I ever had and it wasn't the most expensive "small" dish I ever had, but I thought the quality was very much in line with the price. read more

Delicious ice cream, horrible service. Two people behind counter who couldn't scoop a decent size cone between them. A sugar cone with one scoop that doesn't go even 1/2 inch over the cone and it isn't like it was packed inside the cone either!! It was so small that the guy behind me asked if I was getting a kiddie cone!! I know the economy is terrible but this was not worth the $ or the trip. We will NOT be back! read more

I needed 6 different ice creams to bring to my grandchildren. I was very organized, wrote them down in advance for myself to read off. The young teenager was helping me until the owner became very annoyed and rude to her. She was doing a great job!!!! The owner then became angry toward me because I needed lids, obviously, and a bag to carry them. She basically dropped them all in the bag, sideways, upside down etc. Then to really ruin her day I needed a receipt for my debit card purchase YIKES!!!! And honestly just charge more and give more- 6 Mini (not even a full scoop) sized scoops of so so ice cream served with an attitude-never again! read more

We came in yesterday. There was a party of three people in front of us, and the young man working took care of them. We realized what took an extra amount of time is scoops are carefully done to ensure they're small and then weighed. Who weighs ice cream?! No candy toppings or homemade fudge/peanut butter. As we sat having our ice cream it quickly got busy. The owner was going back and forth doing not sure what, as people left without ordering. After about ten minutes she helped customers. Hospitality seemed lacking with no sense of urgency. Cute shop but improvement needed. read more

Wicked licks has definitely improved so much from last year. They've added more toppings (including peanut butter!), they haven't been out of tons of flavors and the portions seem a little bigger than last year- plus they haven't been weighing them every time. She also does such a great job with the landscaping & yard games.. it's super cute! If you're lucky you'll get to see baby birds in the wreath or even baby bunnies:) read more

Delicious ice cream, nice shop, and great flavors! Now, the bad: THE smallest portions at ridiculously high prices. They even WEIGH each puny scoop. I'd rather drive to Bogey's in Thompson, CT or better yet, Rota Springs in Sterling, Ma, rather than roll over for those ridiculous prices. Sorry, but I am so dissatisfied. I had high hopes for this place. Let the traveling tourists slap down their cash. 2 times and I'm over it. The only ice cream shop in Sturbridge and this is what we get? Generic ice cream in a weird shaped shop, over priced and small scoops and worst of all only four kinds of toppings in a ice cream shop? And one being Purple sprinkles...what!? Not even rainbow but purple not appeasing. I tried it now back to Bucks Soft Serve. This business didn't even deserve me to take a picture. read more

Really good local spot to step into if your looking for some ice cream. Has your standard flavors like vanilla and chocolate but also has many unique and interesting flavors as well. Definitely on the pricier side of things but definitely worth it. Has a wide arrangement of toppings as well. Service is excellent too, staff are extremely helpful and friendly. You can either sit inside or sit outside on their picnic tables and enjoy the nice weather and view. Overall a very good place. read more

I was really impressed with this new place and am writing a review, something I don't generally do, because I think the reviews so far are pretty unfair. We got two medium cones for just over $10 total including tax...this is not at all an unreasonable price, and one that I actually thought was surprisingly low before I even tasted the amazing quality of the ice cream. This (just under $5) is nearly exactly how much the old Friendly's used to charge for a two-scoop cone so I don't see why people are acting like these prices are unheard of. The ice cream was AMAZING. Imagine the quality you would get at a fancy-shmancy artisanal ice cream place in the city (for more $). This ice cream is that good! I highly recommend all the flavors we tried: Exhausted Parent, Black Cherry, Zanzibar Chocolate, and Heaps of Love. The staff was also polite and professional. We took the last parking spot in their lot and the line was out the door, but we still got ice cream super fast! read more

We've been waiting most of the summer for the shoppe to open. With great anticipation we were excited to go with our grandchildren and family. We ordered single scoop ice creams in dishes and cups. We couldn't have been more disappointed when we started receiving them. They were the smallest scoops of ice cream we have ever received in the U.S. Not only were they tiny but they were using a scale to weigh them. What? We like to patronize local businesses and all that but unless they start serving a fair amount of ice cream we will not return. I noticed other people commented here about the quantity but gave them 4 stars. Huh. To the owner, I hope you change this soon because you won't last in New England. Fingers crossed. read more

Tonight was our first visit to Wicked Licks and we thought the ice cream was great. "Super premium ice cream" lives up to its name. What's holding me back from leaving 5 stars is you get a small amount for the price you pay. There are other places in the area that give much bigger portions for less so this may be our once in a while stop if we want a higher quality ice cream. read more

Updated review. Tried a couple of other flavors. This time the texture was fine. As before the ice cream was flavorful. The server was very pleasant. Bumping the rating to 4 because of the unique flavors and toppings. I'd go back. The portions are smaller than I'd like but large servings of mediocre ice cream (like many of the other local offerings) is not more appealing. If they could bump the portion size a bit, that would increase the likelihood they will remain in business, which would be a good thing. Based solely on quality of the ice cream, this is probably the best available in the surrounding area. Better quantity and quality requires a trip out of the area. read more

I went when it wasn't busy at all; probably 2 parties in front of me. However I still waited about 15-20 minutes to be served. I understand it's a new business, but this seems unnecessarily slow. Once I ordered I learned it's so slow in part because the owner struggles to scoop ice cream. I had second hand embarrassment watching her try to scoop enough. It probably took her 1 1/2 minutes for one scoop. I was also extremely underwhelmed by the size of the scoop, and I didn't think the flavor was anything special. The owner was also not very hospitable. I feel bad for the young high schoolers that have to work with her. I've heard she's not very nice to them either. The inside was also very weird, the walls were empty and there was no music playing. I felt uncomfortable being in there. Overall I did not enjoy my time here. The servings are small, the atmosphere is odd, and the owner seemed agitated. Will not be coming back. read more

We were hoping this was an ice cream place that made ice cream in house or nearby. Little disappointed to see it's not. The ice cream is from a small chain brand from Wisconsin. We Waited about 15/20 min to get served which I expected it was going to be a little of a wait. Inside has a little weird vibe going on for an ice cream place anyway. As soon as he started scooping the ice cream my wife and I looked at each other in awe. The portions is VERY small. Plus they tossed it on the scale! That tells me she's only worried about making money and not making customers happy! Prices is high for what you get. She's charging MORE than MSRP from what the company is telling them to charge. Even if she charges retail, she still makes over $3.00 per ice cream. Ice cream was good but not any different than anywhere else. Didn't really stand out. Sad to say we won't be going back. We had high hopes for this place but with the prices for what you get, that's a hard pass. Typical Sturbridge business, high price, small portion. I'm sure the tourists won't mind paying.
