"Rain, rain, rain, a wicked rain Falling from the sky Well there's just one chance in a million That someday we'll make it out alive" (Los Lobos) On our way to lunch in Sturbridge we passed the very cool attention grabbing sign for Wicked Licks, and agreed on the spot to swing by after lunch. Wicked Links isn't a chain and their ice cream isn't made on premises. They bring it in from a Wisconsin creamery. It's a super premium ice cream made with 14% butterfat and a low percentage of air so it comes out super rich and dense. The printing on their cups tells the story - "It's not low-fat, low-calorie or low-anything. You want low calorie? Eat carrots". Anyway, we each ordered a small cup ($3.75) with a free topping. I went with the oddly named Exhausted Parent (Bourbon-spiked espresso ice cream swirled with bittersweet chocolate chunks) and my wife went for Coconut Almond Bliss (coconut ice cream, chocolate flakes, and almond pieces). My topping was crushed sugar cone and her topping was chocolate sprinkles - both were included with the price of the single scoop. I liked my espresso/chocolate ice cream a lot. Great taste and the crushed cone pieces added some nice crunch to the dish. It wasn't the biggest "small" dish I ever had and it wasn't the most expensive "small" dish I ever had, but I thought the quality was very much in line with the price.

Excellent spot close to the highway to stop for a delicious break while trekking from the Berkshires to Boston!

AMAZING! Best ice cream ever. So sad they will be closing for the winter. Will be first in line when they open back up in the Spring!

Slow service, stuffy building, and ice cream was melt-y. Good selection of flavors though.

Interesting flavor combinations, fresh and delicious. Despite some other reviews, I found the portions and prices to be fine.

The service was very good. The food was good also and the ambulance was very nice. The only problem was that very little parking.

I first visited these guys when they were operating out of a small barn, and seeing the evolution to this 53,000 sq ft, $18.5M facility is seriously impressive. They follow a "direct-to-consumer" model -- selling everything right out the front door -- and they've mastered it. I've been here many times over the years and go whenever I have the opportunity, which says everything. Tried some of their standout beers -- King Julius is the gold standard, consistently ranked among the best beers in the world. Their flagship Julius is just as impressive, with massive notes of mango and peach -- incredibly well balanced and executed. There are usually food trucks on site, which adds to the experience -- you can enjoy a fresh pour while picking up your take-home haul. Fun fact: On BeerAdvocate's all-time Top 250 list, Tree House often has 30+ beers featured, something almost no other brewery can match. Overall, some of the best beers anywhere -- truly unparalleled and absolutely worth the visit. Saluti.
