Went here on account of the rave reviews and was sorely disappointed! The almond milk latte was really quite bad! I had to throw it. And was hoping for a vegetarian breakfast sandwich, which they really didn't want to customize. I guess I caught them on a bad day, as the service was very minimal and unfriendly! And really not worth the rave reviews this place had, so I will not be back here, nor can I recommend them! A pity, as this place has potential!

Wicked Espresso has great coffee with fantastic customer service! The coffee shop is so cute and has so much personality with a great seating area on the patio. The owner made our coffee and was very nice, talkative, and gave us a run down of history of the shop and the area. Highly recommended!

This is such a cool spot! The wife and I rented a room upstairs at the Wicked Inn for our vacation. We started the day with some amazing coffee and pastries, and then spent most of the morning hiking around Sylvan lake (highly recommend BTW). When we got back we relaxed on the patio, played some connect 4, and sipped on some Mimosas! All in all it was a great day! I highly recommend Wicked Espresso/Inn for anyone visiting the Custer area.

Cool little coffee, wine and beer place with a nice, outdoor patio to relax on. Personable owner.

We had a great coffee drink. Heard they are beginning to serve beer, wine and mimosas. Looking forward to that.

Overpriced coffee, lacking flavor and somewhat smug service. Visited early morning, and service was less than friendly.

A place to find food when there's not much available in the area. We were optimistic about this…read morerestaurant as it had a beautiful outdoor seating area, unfortunately 45° temperatures in cold rain prevent prevented that from happening. We were pleasantly greeted at the kiosk. You order food as there is no table service here. Food is somewhat limited, but service was fast. The restaurant was rather cold inside and many people were sitting fully cloaked and hooded/hats on to stay warm as the front door was wide open. We asked the manager if it was possible to close the door as the temperature inside was so cold and reading the room you could see we were not the only ones that felt this way! Without explanation, we were told no and that's how it had to be. We noticed on the way out that the thermostat was set at 54°! Brrrrr So, we did not stay very long. We ate our less than adequate food with plastic cutlery and left. Probably not a spot I would go out of my way again to visit and would check out other opportunities in the area.

I had the breakfast burrito with sausage and a blue berry muffin. Both were average in size. We sad outside on one on their decks, which was delightful, and sipped coffee until mid morning. Place was very convenient being a short walk from the Bavarian Inn. Prices were ok, certainly not a deal given what was brought to the table. Would need to try a few different menu options before making a strong recommendation. Worthy of checking out.

We were starving after walking around looking at Mount Rushmore. So we stopped by the Carver's Cafe…read more(which is at the monument). The staff was super nice and attentive. And the food options were decent. I ordered the Dakota Bison Bacon Cheeseburger with the fries and both were very delicious indeed. And the space to eat in was huge with tall glass windows so you could see Rushmore not too far in the distance.

Visited on 5/12/2026 with my family after a long morning at Mount Rushmore. The location is…read moreconvenient -- right inside the monument -- but convenience and the view are about the only things going for this place. We ordered the Philly Cheesesteak ($18), a Cheeseburger ($17.50 + $0.75), and the Grilled Chicken Platter ($14.50) for our kid. Total came out to $54.50 for three people -- which, okay, it's a tourist spot, so I expected to pay a premium. What I didn't expect was to pay premium prices for food that felt like it was barely tried. The Philly was overcooked and dry. The meat was dark and tough -- no juiciness, no flavor. For $18, that's just not acceptable. The burger looked decent but tasted flat and underwhelming. The Grilled Chicken Platter for my child was the most disappointing -- it's listed as "grilled" on the menu, but the chicken came out barely touched. Pale, soft, almost like it was steamed and then given a quick pass on the grill just for looks. The mashed potatoes and corn on the side were fine -- nothing special. I'll give credit where it's due -- the ambiance is genuinely great. Eating with a direct view of Mount Rushmore is a cool experience you won't get anywhere else, and the dining area has a nice open feel to it. Service was also okay, no real complaints there. But when you're spending $54 on a family meal and every main dish misses, the view only carries you so far. If you're visiting, pack your own food or eat before you arrive. You'll thank yourself later.
