My father and I found a vehicle on Facebook Marketplace we were interested in. After a conversation with the seller, we all agreed on having Whyte Knyte Inspections sent over to inspect the vehicle. The process was simple and easy to set up. A couple days later, my inspector (Edward) gave me a call and explained the seller was refusing to answer his calls to set up an appointment for the inspection. I greatly appreciated this information and told him we'd try to find out what was going on. My father was finally able to get into contact with the seller and basically found out she no longer wanted to do business with us. I guess she didn't like how serious we were about wanting what she was selling, despite the fact she agreed to have an inspector over. Although we weren't able to use their services to the fullest, I highly recommend Whyte Knyte Inspections for a car inspection. Eric was very helpful with answering my questions, and returning the money I spent, and my inspector, Edward, was equally as helpful with keeping me in the loop of what was happening. If you decide to use them, don't be afraid to tip, as my experience has shown they're all deserving of one! I was a long distance shopper looking for a vehicle in the Atlanta area, and with Eric's help I was able to comfortably drive down to Atlanta without the fear of coming home with junk or empty handed. Eric's service was exceptional and was willing to sacrifice HIS personal time to look at multiple cars on short notice (I know he left one of the dealers at 9pm!) He inspected 3 vehicles for me (which saved me A LOT of time and hassle, I did not miss the high pressure salesmen breathing down my neck while trying to educate and become familiar with the car was a instant relief... I won't buy a car any other way from now on) and he was able to highlight a lot of issues, one being that an entire left side of a vehicle had been repainted, however this info did not show on the CarFax (do not solely trust a car report, they are a good tool, but things are missed... I just received my very detailed inspection report on an out-of-state vehicle purchase and couldn't be more pleased. The car was in very good shape overall, but the inspection identified a few things that needed to be addressed, and the owner is now fixing them. It took a little longer than anticipated to get the mechanic there, but it was worth the wait. He was an excellent choice! Eric was very good with keeping me informed of what was going on throughout the process. Because he knew I was on a time crunch with ebay, he even took the time to draft me an immediate report via verbal disclosure from the mechanic because there was an issue with the app the mechanic was using. Eric was available right away when I asked him to do two inspections, fairly last minute. He steered me away from a car that I thought would be great but had a failing transmission. He did another inspection two days later and told me right away that the car was in good condition so I could get to the dealer right away to make my purchase.... time was of the essence so that was really helpful. Also, because he's been doing this a while in this area, he's familiar with the reputation of various dealerships and will tell you if it's sketchy or not. I'm glad I used his services and I would recommend you do as well if you're in the market for a used car. And....side note...it's worth it to do your research with Consumer Reports. I have used Eric for two used car inspections. His inspections are extremely detailed and both times he has saved me money by identifying mechanical issues that I got the sellers to fix before buying the cars. The first inspection was four years ago and we never had any problems with that car. Unfortunately, that car was totaled by an uninsured motorist and we had one week to find another car. Eric was able to inspect the second car on the lot the day after we found it and sent his inspection report the next morning. I can't say thank you enough for Eric. Not only did he jump though hoops for me to schedule, and dealt with a difficult seller, he literally saved my teenagers life. I hired Whyte Knyte for a pre-purchase inspection on a 7 year old car. I really didn't think much out of the usual (a scratch here, dent there) would show up. What I couldn't believe he found was the airbag sensor was permanently disabled and either there were no airbags, or airbags installed incorrectly. As a buyer, I'd had never known since the sensor would never turn on. Carfax showed the car was fine, however ,the inspection revealed repairs of front end damage. Eric was a God send. We were attempting to purchase an out of state vehicle for a dealership that will remain anonymous and needed someone to check the car out for us on short notice. Eric performed a very detailed inspection with loads of pics a day ahead of schedule. The report came back showing the car was fine to purchase with confidence. Upon inspecting the high quality photo's we noticed the dealer had removed the expensive factory wheels that were advertised and replaced them with steel wheels and hub caps. We wouldn't have known about it until after flying in to get the car that the dealer had tried to pull the wool over our eyes. These guys were extremely timely, professional, and thorough. They ended up finding quite a few issues with the car I was interested in that would have caused me a massive headache later on. Did you know dealers are selling cars without working aux power and with oil leaks and dodgy transmissions? The listing looked perfect (clean Carfax, great price) but the incredibly detailed report I got from Whyte Knyte, including audio visual supplement, painted a bit less stellar picture and I ultimately decided not to buy the vehicle as it would be at least a minor headache to fix. When you compare it to the cost of the repairs that I might have had to have done, their pricing probably ended up saving me money. Would definitely do business with them again. read more
