I worked up the street from Why Not Kabob and decided to step in to try out their kabobs. I found out that this was a hidden gem in Glendale. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Every time I visit this location I feel like I'm being greeted by family or friends. I am promptly seated and helped out. There is always a smile on the face of the employees here. I also order food over the phone and when I arrive on my break the food is ready to eat. I appreciate that they save me time on my break. FOOD: Recently I order the same thing when I come here, but I have tried a lot of things on the menu. What I always get is the beef soltani, which is ground beef luleh and chunks of beef. The meat has a lot of flavor and is very tender. I also like the chicken luleh and chicken Brest chunks. All the meat is cooked upon ordering and meat is grounded and marinaded daily. They also have great stew. I also recommend trying the fries they are thick cut and crispy, which is a plus for me. They also have yogurt and eggplant sides, which are absolutely delicious and prepared fresh daily. AMBIANCE: Why not Kabob has a modern look. It has that chipotle feel to it, but it has a TV which is a plus. OVERALL: This place is amazing I don't always recommend Kabob spots but this one is definitely good enough. The serving sizes are perfect especially for the price. Worth checking out and making it a go to spot for delicious and quality food. read more

One word: amazing. My family has ordered from here twice. Both times we got mini kabobs for two different birthdays. Everyone raved about how amazing they were! It was seasoned well, cooked perfectly and the perfect size snack/finger food to pick up at a birthday. Last week I contacted the owner, Emin, to discuss ordering over 100 mini kabobs for a fundraiser. He was beyond friendly, professional and worked with my budget. He even went out his way to deliver the kabobs himself to make sure that I got in time for my fundraiser! We had over 100 people buy his food and to be honest, every single person really loved the taste! I'm sure everything else this restaurant has to offer is as great or even better. A family member offered to get food from this place for a small family gathering. She spent over $150 on beef luleh, chicken kabobs, rice, 2 containers of cucumber tomato salad and 1 container of hummus. The portions were decent but everything lacked flavor. I mean EVERYTHING had no flavor at all. We were all very displeased with the food. Another disappointment with our food was with the amount of food we bought they only gave ONE friggin bag of pita bread. Really? One bag of bread? I dont even think it was a full bag because only the first four people got bread. I understand this is a new restaurant and hopefully this constructive criticism will help them improve. I ordered Beef Luleh Kabob on rice with extra Pita + a Medium sized Hummus. Food was tasty and fresh! They gave me a huge pepper and tomato with my order. The side salad was good and the meal also came with onions sprinkled with cilantro. My meal was ordered online through yelp to carry out. This is a very Armenian restaurant in a very Armenian area, which certainly gives it street cred. Chicken al-Wazir, as the name suggests, doesn't fuck around when it comes to chicken. And one look from the woman who cooks it will firmly reassure you of that. I work right next door to this place, so we go here quite a bit -- primarily because they're so consistent with their timing (which usually runs between 15-20 minutes for them to cook your food). My boss always gets two pita sandwiches (chicken kabob and beef shwarma). I definitely favor the Chicken Kabob plate, which comes with your standard Armenian line-up: monstrously large green pepper, a tomato, vinegar veggies, and rice pilaf. They serve ORIGINAL FORMULA coca-cola here, if that piques anybody's interest. ;D No cocaine, though. They saved that for the french fries (no, seriously). Take that, Zankou. read more

Delicious, filling, fresh, comforting. Usually chicken kebabs tend to be dry but it's pretty tender and juicy here. We got our meal with "French fries" which are fried potato rounds - delicious! But when she went out with a bunch of colleagues to use it they rejected the gift certificate outright, claiming that "They didn't accept those anymore" despite the fact that it was paid for. Great experience as far as service is concerned. Unfortunately, I did not get to taste the food because I was ordering for a business. They told me they could not deliver to where I needed the food to go due to being far. The owner (son) called me personally to apologize and stated he can maybe send it through Uber but he did really trust that would be a good idea. Found this place on Yelp while visiting the Glendale area, and I really have to say it did not disappoint. The family that owns this place are very friendly and you can tell that they are a neighborhood restaurant with "regulars" that come for dinner often. For you older folks, it kind of reminded me of the Cheers Bar where everyone was greeted like a family member and they know your name. Even though this was our first visit, they were warm and welcoming. Our party had the beef luleh platter, the beef shish kabob platter, and a salmon salad, plus a side of Tzatziki. Everything was awesome, except I have to say they could improve on their salad dressing which tasted like generic bottled "Italian" dressing. The basmati rice was tasty and perfectly cooked, the pitas were warm and chewy, the meats were cooked perfectly, including the salmon which was not over-cooked. A grilled pepper and grilled tomato come with the platter dinners and were great smashed into the rice. The prices for this quality of food and service are exceptional. I don't know how they can give you so much food for the amount you pay, but please keep this place open --- you will enjoy it! read more
