My husband and I finally tried this place after driving by so many times and admiring the name and when it turned out to have high reviews, we definitely had to try it! Picked up to go on a busy weekend afternoon and though it was slightly delayed, the owners were so sweet and welcoming, we did not care about waiting a bit more. Got hungry while waiting for my car being serviced and found Why Not Kabob on Yelp. It was a few minutes walk and when I got there, there were only a few other people there but it looked like they were working on some large takeout/catering orders in the back. I could tell it was going to be good because of the delicious smell outside as I was getting closer to the restaurant. I sat down and ordered the beef luleh and chicken shish combo. It came with rice (small portion, for me at least lol), raw onions, small salad, grilled tomato, grilled chili pepper, and one pita. The food came out about 10 minutes after ordering. The luleh was very flavorful and juicy. It's easy to dry it out when overcooked but it was perfect. The chicken was also delightful. Perfect seasoning and I'm not usually a dark meat guy but I loved this chicken. No chewy or gristly pieces whatsoever. The portion were just about perfect if you're really hungry. I would just prefer more rice but that's just because I'm Iranian and am used to a heaping mound of rice with my kabob lol. Service was so friendly also. Not much parking from what I could tell, had to street park in front. Good amount of seating and some TVs with some soccer highlights playing in the background. Very nice, courteous staff. Def a mom and pop shop. Eventually got my food, paid, and left. When I had got home, I checked my food and was a bit perplexed. The Chicken Lule seemed like some other kind of meat (Pork maybe? Still not sure what I actually got). Beef Shish was a bit overdone. Huge amount of rice, veggies were good, Hummus (extra cost, not part of the plate) was good. I was definitely full after finishing + had some food left over. Maybe I came in at a bad time, but was not totally impressed and wouldn't really recommend tbh. I've ordered from here many times for delivery and almost always get the same thing - their salmon plate. I feel like they give generous portions of salmon and rice. Also, every time I have ordered the salmon has been cooked just right! The plate comes with one pita bread, raw onions with herbs, salad, and a roasted tomato and jalapeno. I have also tried their eggplant dip and their cucumber and yogurt dip, both of which were good. I recommended this place to some family and they also enjoyed the food and felt that for the price their portions were generous. read more

We were looking for dinner and found this place on Yelp. Overall, it's a great place to get food. The owner was really personable and made us feel very welcome. We both had a combination plates with the beef fillet, chicken shish, and beef luleh kabobs. The plates were both served with a really fresh salad, and their grilled tomato and grilled pepper were also excellent. I also enjoyed their rice, which was very fluffy. However, I'll have to admit that I wasn't that impressed with their pita bread. Overall, I would go here again and I recommend going here if you're looking for kabobs, but with so many kabob places in Glendale, it's also not at the top of my list. I came here for lunch to dine-in. I really wanted to love this place, but my overall experience was just okay. We were seated, and given time to review the menu. And then we sat for 30 minutes before water or utensils were brought out. When our meal finally came out, it looked good, but I found the beef luleh a little under seasoned. The rice pilaf was good. I was jealous that my partner had cucumbers on their salad, I only had tomatoes. It seemed to be popular for take out. The meat was incredibly juicy and flavorful. The roasted peppers had a nice smoky flavor and had a nice kick of spicy. The roasted tomato also had a smoky flavor that complimented the meat very well. The price point is cheap for the amount and quality of the food. There isn't a ton of seating but there aren't a lot of people eating inside anyways. Couldn't recommend them more highly! The food is wonderful, the portions are generous, and their customer service goes above and beyond (thank you Nar!). We've had multiple combo plates and they've all been delicious! They deliver for FREE (but please tip during these challenging times) and you can order delivery directly from the restaurant which I love. The customer doesn't pay ridiculous service fees, and you are directly supporting a local/independent business without the middle man taking a huge cut from the restaurant. They also went the extra mile to deliver food to my elderly parents in an assisted living. They separated and labeled the individual orders to make it easy for the staff. A+! read more

(Total:$7.50) It took about 15 minutes to cook the food but that's to be expected for that kind of thing. The owner was super friendly and let me bring my dog inside the door while I waited. Then he brought out some chicken and gave some to my dog. My dog and I both agreed that this was some pretty good chicken. For the price I think you can't go wrong. Don't expect fancy decor. That's not what this place is about. It's about good food at a fair price. There's only one other place in Glendale with better chicken kabob but it's a little farther away from me so this spot will do just fine when I'm close by. This place is BOMB! We had a large order of luleh kabob plates, a mix of chicken and beef. Plates come with roasted tomato, roasted pepper (not spicy!), rice, pita bread, and a little salad!! Seriously, per plate there is so much food. Mine lasted me three meals. We also ordered a tub of hummus - so worth it and delicious. What really sets this place apart from other kabob places are the wonderful workers.
