I was sent here by my ENT specialist for a hearing exam. The audiologist was amazing and explained all results & gave me copies of my hearing tests. I ended up needing a hearing aide. When I came back for my hearing aide she walked me through everything. The woman at the front desk was so patient with me while scheduling an appointment that worked with my schedule. They always called me with appointment reminders. They also made sure my insurance would cover my appointments and hearing aide. For many years, I put off getting hearing aids even though I definitely needed them, due to some combination of denial and fear of the cost. (They aren't covered by my insurance.) But this past year, it became very clear that I could no longer get by without some help. My family and friends were getting frustrated with me constantly asking them to repeat themselves, and I knew that I was avoiding phone conversations and loud environments because I knew I wouldn't be able to hear well. I knew I wanted to find a private practice office and after some quick Yelp research, I stumbled upon the Whittier Hearing Center. All of the reviews sounded so promising, so I booked an appointment. And I'm so, so glad that I did. The staff at the Whittier Hearing Center and Dr. Carol Ma have given me the absolute best experience so far! I was really nervous about the entire process and they walked me through the entire process with great empathy and educated me about my hearing and how they could help. You end up paying one lump fee for the hearing aids, which may feel steep at first, but then you realize what is included in the entire package. Also, there are different tiers of pricing depending on the technology you get, so you get some say on how much you can afford, and they sometimes have a special going on that helps with the price a bit. Regardless of what tier you choose, the package includes the diagnostic hearing test, loaner hearing aids that you get to try out before purchasing the hearing aids (you get to go home with them after the 1st appointment!), a 3 year warranty on your hearing aids, insurance, all of the follow up appointments if you're having issues with your devices, the first year's worth of batteries (they can mail them to you, so you don't have to go into the office), and of course, the hearing aids themselves. I've never had a hard time getting an appointment, and can often be seen the same day, which is a great thing when you're having issues with the hearing aids! Whenever I have my appointments, I rarely wait more than 2 minutes before Dr. Ma comes out to see me. The staff is so friendly and great too! I feel so lucky to have found this office. I wish that I had come to them sooner! If you're nervous about getting hearing aids, I urge you to try this office out. They will make the process as smooth as possible. I can't recommend them enough! FYI: There isn't a dedicated parking lot, but there's a bunch of street parking right around the office. I've never had a problem finding parking! read more

I am disappointed that this office has very poor customer service. I purchased an amplifier late November 2020 and 4 months later is not working correctly. It is for my 104 year old dad. I paid $170 for a simple amplifier called Comfort Duett so he can enjoy his days as best he can as he is also nearly blind. I called the office and the lady was not helpful at all. She basically said "its an over the counter product" and I am out of luck. No explanation or help with help to seek out any warranty the manufacturer may offer. She "has no idea" about warranties etc If you sell a product, make a profit, it will be ethical to research the product you are offering your patient. That is If they cared for the patients. The are sweet and smiley to take your money but when you need help you are left to fend for yourself. read more

I came in on February 23 2022 for an ear lavage. It was honestly the smoothest process ever. i was in and out of there in less than 30 minutes. Dr. Linda Farrow was so kind and reassured me of the whole process. She even let me watch as the procedure was completed. Today, March 2nd 2022 i came in to have a hearing test done for my TSA med eval. I cannot express my gratitude enough with Dr. Ariel Arista . She was just so kind and you can definitely tell she cares about her patients. Was running late for my first appointment due to unforseen circumstances so I called to determine if I need to reschedule. I was asked which city I was driving in from and how soon can I make it in to which I responded 10 minutes. I was told to come in. I arrived in 8 minutes and was told the doctor would not see me. Had they recommended to reschedule, I would have been fine with that. I brought my dad to the Whittier Hearing center as he needed hearing aids. The Dr. was patient, kind and helpful. She helped us pick out the best hearing aid for my father. When we returned to pick up the hearing aids Terrance helped us. He was terrific. The day after our appointment we had trouble connecting the hearing aids to a remote that connected to the t.v. Terrance drove to our house after hours and got it working. He also helped us when my dad lost a piece to one of his hearing aids. Terrance ordered another and then mailed it to us. Not only is the service amazing here, but you can text the front office to make an appointment! Being proudly deaf, that is a huge plus and is so much faster and easier than going through the relay. And Dr. Linda Farrow is the best! She is respectful, she listens, and she knows her stuff. I've been seeing Dr. Brian Hoang for the past 1.5 years. From our very first meeting I immediately felt comfortable as Dr. Hoang has such a friendly and warm personality. I've always felt self-conscience about my hearing loss. I've gone through 5 hearing aids and never felt comfortable with any of them due to echoing sounds etc. Dr. Hoang suggested a try a new type of hearing aid. I love Whittier Hearing Center, I love the friendly staff, but I hate that they have chosen hours of operation that are awesome for retirees, but terrible for everyone else. The ONLY hours in which they are open are typical working hours and ONLY Monday- Friday. It would not be too much to have one evening and maybe a couple of Saturday mornings available so that customers who still have to work can come in. When I have a problem with my hearing aid, I have to try to get off work early, which is very difficult. I hope to see this rectified so I can change my rating to five stars! read more

However, when I tried another hearing center in Orange I realized that the Whittier Hearing techs were right on with their original diagnosis and recommendation. I am over the moon about this place! My entire experience from beginning to end was spectacular!! I know it sounds like I'm exaggerating but trust me when I say that the staff here is super knowledgeable and BEST of all friendly. From the moment that I called and spoke with Sandy who actually listened to my concern, and actually helped me see the audiologist without insurance or a referral was already a win for me, little did I know it was just the beginning. The moment we arrived the very next day after my phone call, the front office was all smiles and welcoming during this scary process. It didn't end there, Dr.Gilbert by far takes the trophy, she went above and behind for my 5yr old to feel comfortable during her hearing exam. She took her time to explain everything to us in detail and understood how emotional we were about our daughters hearing loss. Every visit I had when coming for my ear exam is awesome, they always follow up with a phone call . Marie and Susie and the rest of the staff greet and treat you like your part of their family . Yessenia is great on explaining and troubleshooting when you have problems with your hearing aids. I mentioned to Yessenia I was having trouble on one of my hearing aids that was not responding, even when she cleaned it and put a new battery, she check my files and said I was still insured, she sent them out , a week later I and got a call from Maria that they were ready , Yessenia recalibrated everything ,and as of today they still work beautiful, just like the day I got them! Several weeks later and some adjustments, I was hearing much better. During the "getting used to them time", several people helped me with adjustments to the hearing aids.
