I usually go to the city library but I'm very close to county so occasionally I like to go. I've had a few visits here and staff is not approachable. It seems like they try to avoid you or just me. Lol The librarian is also not helpful. 1 years after my first bad experience with him. I approach his desk and just like the first time. He's in conversation with same lady and I walk up smiling waiting to be acknowledged. I ask my question and his response "it's not that easy" well no sh*t that's why I'm asking.... The books are not organized by A.R points, grade or age. Its sections with categories/subjects... 1st grade books are mixed with 5th grade even 6th. I have a 3rd grader. He's not going to search one by one to find a book. I usually put him in the 3rd/4th grade section and let him browse. The library counter is nearby in case you need a librarian to assist you. Free copies (maximum of 10 per day) are also available for library members. There is a small fee for each additional copy. You can also log on to a desktop for a maximum of one hour. Ask the librarian to open the bathroom for you because it's locked. Maybe that's why it's so clean! Plenty of parking behind the library adjacent to the park or the left side of the library in front of the park. Enjoy your visit!

Unlike other libraries in the area, Sorensen doesn't limit your parking to 2 hours or anything like that. I don't understand how people can get work done or study with peace of mind, having to take all your things and move your car. Another reason I really enjoy Sorensen is the librarians that work there. Everyone is so pleasant and helpful. Although it's a smaller library, they do a wonderful job of keeping the place clean, quiet, and organized. Now, the reason I'm not giving a full 5 stars is because they have a limited selection of certain topics. It's not really their fault, but it'd be nice to have a little bit more. The last reason is because even though their WiFi is great, for some odd reason, I can't use Tik Tok on their WiFi. Other social media is fine but it's only Tik Tok. This is a small issue for me, as I do some work in the social media field. Overall, please go here! It's a wonderful library that you'll enjoy!

I'm going to be honest, I stopped by on my way to the fmr mkt to use their facilities-very clean & well maintained, you'd have to be buzzed in to enter. I like that it has paper towels coz I prefer it over the hand driers. It might be better for the environment but not for my health (unless I know that they actually disinfect those regularly, otherwise it harbors bacteria). The lady at the front was nice. The quiet library is open & airy, perfect for studying or simply perusing books. It has a large children's section with newer computers. It's conducive to learning & broadening our minds. I was probably one of the few kids in junior high (did I just age myself?) & high school who regularly visited the library to borrow books. I was a regularly at the Ivar (Hollywood Branch) Public Library & know that when the Mac desk top first came out-Cerritos Library had a roomful of them (Cerritos tax dollars at work, courtesy of the Cerritos Auto Square & the Cerritos mall). In this area (City Hall), there's an Olympic sized pool by the Senior Center (I think there are a total of 3, one of which has water slides ($25 entrance fee, unless it has changed) Dang, I should move to La Mirada! Another place to consider -ing out!!

I came in for a state park pass and there was none in stock, which is understandable considering I was doing a walk-in and it's the peak of summer. The staff were helpful and check to see if there was any other in stock elsewhere, but there was none. A few minutes after leaving Teresa the front desk staff gave me a call to let me know that someone had just returned a pass and that she would put it on a hold for me. I really appreciate the dedication to serve the communities need and their help. Teresa, you're amazing.

I had to print out some documents, and I noticed this library lets you start the process online…read more The printing/copy station is tucked away in the corner just past the help desk and computers. Once you upload the files you want printed and enter your e-mail address, you input it on the computer and pay. One of the employees that came out to help me told me that it'll charge the card $10 at first then correct itself. But on my bank account statement, I didn't see any payments go through initially, and a couple of days later, I was charged the right amount. It is 15 cents per page, convenient, and cheaper than Staples/FedEx. There is also a shelf near the front where they sell books and media for around $1-2 or less. The parking lot is a bit small and was already full a little past noon. It's kind of set up like the La Mirada library, right next to city hall.

It took only a couple of minutes to sign up--literally the fastest process ever. The librarians at the front desk were so friendly and welcoming. They let me choose from 2 different designs, but I went with the older one. This is a small building, but it feels cozy inside. The bookstore only takes cash or check since there isn't a way for them to take card payments, and they have so many cute postcards! I like how they have them on a rack because most places I've been to, they're just in a box. Anyway, they have so many resources here, despite the size. I was happy to discover magazines and major newspapers like the LA Times, Orange County Register, NY Times, and even a Korean one. I was also given a paper of all the locations within the county where the card is applicable.

Parking is weird, you have to press a button to get in but there's no ticket. Whatever. Weirdly they are closed random days of the week, and open at 12pm.
