An empty parking lot with only my family waiting.
    Vito K.

This library is the worst and most unprofessional library I have ever been to. My girlfriend called earlier today to inquire and confirm and event for her God daughters to attend and they did not tell her it was canceled. Now, after a hour drive, my family and I are in the parking lot angry and confused on why the library is closed right now. Is this how establishments out here in the middle of no where conduct themselves? If so, they need to be shut down. I'm disgusted right now with them.

This is Kathy. She was very rude and had attitude. She wanted to make my service dog feel unwelcomed. Evil . Beware.

The first time here: I had my service dog with me. A female manager, Lauren, asked if he was a service dog. I told her yes, he's wearing his service uniform. I was let in. While inside the library I saw a young girl with a dog. The dog did not have a service dog vest. I went to the manager about the dog. The manager told me a service dog does not have to have his vest on. All you need to do is identify him that he is a service dog and they'll let you in. On my second visit here that didn't seem to be the case.: I walked into the lobby with my service dog without his uniform vest. An Asian lady, Kathy, comes up from behind me and interrogates me about my dog. She ask questions about him and the kind of training he's learned. I was irritated because the first time I came here the manager told me that all I had to do was identify my dog has a service dog and they would let me in. No questions asked. Yet this Asian woman was interrogating me. The manager, Lauren, is there and later steps in. She lies that we never had a conversation about my dog being allowed in without a uniform on. She said they had to ask additional questions. Bogus. If they didn't interrogate the young girl about her dog they had no right to ask me multiple questions. Double standard. And they know it. They lured me into an argument. I had to defend my dog. The manager knew beforehand that my dog was a service animal but they deliberately gave me a hard time. I give this library one star based on that. The manager Lauren could have resolved the issue by informing the Asian woman to let my dog be and he's a verified service animal. But she did not. She instigated and escalated it. Very evil people .

Beautiful library with great resources. Signing up for a free library card gets a lot of great perks, such as wi-fi access, 10 free pages of printing per day, access to the public computers, and of course the ability to check out books and media. There are plenty of tables with built-in outlets so you can charge your devices, as well as a few different study/meeting rooms available if you need extra privacy. There's also an outdoor patio/garden area, but it seems like that space is closed during the hotter months. The air conditioning is always blasting full force when I visit, so I'd recommend dressing in layers if you plan to spend more than an hour there. One thing I really like is that the media (DVDs, CDs, etc.) are directly available. In other libraries, I'd usually have to bring a call number to the desk and have them bring out the materials from the back, but at the Pico Rivera Library, they're right in the boxes on the shelves. The events and collections are definitely geared towards kids and families, which is fine; not like I'm expecting a branch library to be a full-on research facility. The children's section is in a separate wing, so kids can be kids, but the noise doesn't spread. There's also a teen section with access to video games and consoles, which is pretty cool. The staff are nice and helpful. I'll see them having genuine conversations with guests about books, and what they'd like to see added to the collections. Overall, it feels like a genuine community space, and definitely an asset to the city.

The Pico Rivera Library is stunningly beautiful on the outside surrounded by its modern works of art! Its attractiveness draws people to the inside where it is just as organized with a sense of serenity. My few moments spent here was a very positive experience. Everything was easy to find with plenty of room to read or work on projects. Computers are easy to access with fast internet! The only downfall here was that the bathrooms were for the most part..gross. It noted that the last cleaning was at 2pm and there I was at 2:30pm seeing trash on the floor and toilets that were filled with unflushed substances. Besides the bathroom, the Pico Rivera Library does an amazing job keeping peace both on the outside and inside! This is the perfect spot to check out a book, job search, or even just to enjoy the scenery!

Located near the teen center, great for isolation study and has nice lighting from the glass walls nearby

What I like about the Pico Library is that it is modern, bright inside, offers group study rooms for 2 hours a day, on the quieter side of most libraries (as long as you stay away from the kid's area), modernly sized (not too small, not too big) and the staff is helpful. What I do not like about the Pico Library is that 3 days out of the week they are CLOSED (Th, F and Sun) and THEY PRESSURE YOU TO LEAVE starting 30 minutes from closing. I can guaranteed you that you will hear at least 3 reminders on the intercom (one at the 30 min mark, one at the 15 min mark, one at the 10 min mark) and a staff member will stop by to verbally let you know they are closing as if you did not hear the multiple reminders on the intercom.

We have a brand new library in our city and it's closed three days out of the week, 2 of those days are weekdays. Why?!

The library counter is nearby in case you need a librarian to assist you. Free copies (maximum of 10 per day) are also available for library members. There is a small fee for each additional copy. You can also log on to a desktop for a maximum of one hour. Ask the librarian to open the bathroom for you because it's locked. Maybe that's why it's so clean! Plenty of parking behind the library adjacent to the park or the left side of the library in front of the park. Enjoy your visit!

Personally, libraries are incredible to me and I love them all! One of the reasons I go to Sorensen…read moreis because of the untimed, ample parking available. Unlike other libraries in the area, Sorensen doesn't limit your parking to 2 hours or anything like that. I don't understand how people can get work done or study with peace of mind, having to take all your things and move your car. Another reason I really enjoy Sorensen is the librarians that work there. Everyone is so pleasant and helpful. Although it's a smaller library, they do a wonderful job of keeping the place clean, quiet, and organized. Now, the reason I'm not giving a full 5 stars is because they have a limited selection of certain topics. It's not really their fault, but it'd be nice to have a little bit more. The last reason is because even though their WiFi is great, for some odd reason, I can't use Tik Tok on their WiFi. Other social media is fine but it's only Tik Tok. This is a small issue for me, as I do some work in the social media field. Overall, please go here! It's a wonderful library that you'll enjoy!

On the corner of Serapis & Burke near Slauson in the lovely city of Pico Rivera you will find the Rivera Library. The parking is ample since it is never crowded. It is open TTH 10-8pm and Sat 8-6pm. Wednesday's this month feature Storytime & Art activities and The Magic of Tony Daniels. They have a nice quiet environment with enough tables, chairs and a childrens area. The place his very small but it is usually not very crowded. The air conditioning is awesome here, almost as good as the Ralphs grocery store. They have a few computers for use including one which primarily features childrens educational games. The have movies for rent which include recent hits such as Salt and many popular children's favorites. They have a calendar and various flyers in the front entrance. Near the door they have books and VHS videos for sale. I scored a great Calculus book for $1, it was from 1991 but it is more comprehensive than some of today's books. Feel free to ask about the tutoring, when we arrived a young boy was being tutored. I will be back with nephews and nieces in the future or by myself to study when I am not in the mood for the coffee shops, college libraries and bookstores.
