The library counter is nearby in case you need a librarian to assist you. Free copies (maximum of 10 per day) are also available for library members. There is a small fee for each additional copy. You can also log on to a desktop for a maximum of one hour. Ask the librarian to open the bathroom for you because it's locked. Maybe that's why it's so clean! Plenty of parking behind the library adjacent to the park or the left side of the library in front of the park. Enjoy your visit!

I didn't explore too much, but it is bigger than the Los Nietos location. It's also connected to a school, so there's a park where you can walk around or have a picnic. It wasn't too crowded, and the A/C was at a comfortable temperature, despite the outside heat.

I'm going to be honest, I stopped by on my way to the fmr mkt to use their facilities-very clean & well maintained, you'd have to be buzzed in to enter. I like that it has paper towels coz I prefer it over the hand driers. It might be better for the environment but not for my health (unless I know that they actually disinfect those regularly, otherwise it harbors bacteria). The lady at the front was nice. The quiet library is open & airy, perfect for studying or simply perusing books. It has a large children's section with newer computers. It's conducive to learning & broadening our minds. I was probably one of the few kids in junior high (did I just age myself?) & high school who regularly visited the library to borrow books. I was a regularly at the Ivar (Hollywood Branch) Public Library & know that when the Mac desk top first came out-Cerritos Library had a roomful of them (Cerritos tax dollars at work, courtesy of the Cerritos Auto Square & the Cerritos mall). In this area (City Hall), there's an Olympic sized pool by the Senior Center (I think there are a total of 3, one of which has water slides ($25 entrance fee, unless it has changed) Dang, I should move to La Mirada! Anyway, I loved the horticulture section and need to go back to read up. The only thing is some lady was on the phone inside, and since it's a tiny building, you could hear her no matter what, and it made me leave right away because it just disrupts the whole peaceful atmosphere. I feel like they should enforce not taking personal calls indoors.

The staff were helpful and check to see if there was any other in stock elsewhere, but there was none. A few minutes after leaving Teresa the front desk staff gave me a call to let me know that someone had just returned a pass and that she would put it on a hold for me. I really appreciate the dedication to serve the communities need and their help. Teresa, you're amazing.

There are plenty of tables with built-in outlets so you can charge your devices, as well as a few different study/meeting rooms available if you need extra privacy. There's also an outdoor patio/garden area, but it seems like that space is closed during the hotter months. The air conditioning is always blasting full force when I visit, so I'd recommend dressing in layers if you plan to spend more than an hour there. One thing I really like is that the media (DVDs, CDs, etc.) are directly available. In other libraries, I'd usually have to bring a call number to the desk and have them bring out the materials from the back, but at the Pico Rivera Library, they're right in the boxes on the shelves. The events and collections are definitely geared towards kids and families, which is fine; not like I'm expecting a branch library to be a full-on research facility. The children's section is in a separate wing, so kids can be kids, but the noise doesn't spread. There's also a teen section with access to video games and consoles, which is pretty cool. The staff are nice and helpful. I'll see them having genuine conversations with guests about books, and what they'd like to see added to the collections. Overall, it feels like a genuine community space, and definitely an asset to the city.

I had to print out some documents, and I noticed this library lets you start the process online…read more The printing/copy station is tucked away in the corner just past the help desk and computers. Once you upload the files you want printed and enter your e-mail address, you input it on the computer and pay. One of the employees that came out to help me told me that it'll charge the card $10 at first then correct itself. But on my bank account statement, I didn't see any payments go through initially, and a couple of days later, I was charged the right amount. It is 15 cents per page, convenient, and cheaper than Staples/FedEx. There is also a shelf near the front where they sell books and media for around $1-2 or less. The parking lot is a bit small and was already full a little past noon. It's kind of set up like the La Mirada library, right next to city hall.

It took only a couple of minutes to sign up--literally the fastest process ever. The librarians at the front desk were so friendly and welcoming. They let me choose from 2 different designs, but I went with the older one. This is a small building, but it feels cozy inside. The bookstore only takes cash or check since there isn't a way for them to take card payments, and they have so many cute postcards! I like how they have them on a rack because most places I've been to, they're just in a box. Anyway, they have so many resources here, despite the size. I was happy to discover magazines and major newspapers like the LA Times, Orange County Register, NY Times, and even a Korean one. I was also given a paper of all the locations within the county where the card is applicable.

It also tends to be quiet inside although there are some days where it is a little loud because people don't know how to be quiet. The library itself is cozy and has a lot of little sections where you can go and seclude yourself for a little while. I enjoy where it is located as well, something about this section of Norwalk gives me a sense of peace and tranquility that few other places give me.
