We were greeted by the giant saltwater aquarium, which my boys went bananas over. Inside of the children's area, there's a plaque that provides the tank information. Also in there are so many fun areas to read. There's a lighthouse, huge tree, dinosaur skeleton, space ship, and much more! There are also plenty of places to sit and read, both quiet and more in the thick of things. Lots of tablets as well. And friendly staff. The library also has a really nice selection of books in certain languages. I wish they had Thai, but it was nice to see representation! I also really appreciate the audio tour. I didn't listen to it this round, but the fact that it's there and that there's so much on display really makes this library special. There's a dedicated YA area that requires a school ID to get into. They also have newspapers and a really snazzy reading room! Next time, I'll use it. While they have swag and books at the book shop, there was no one volunteering there when we went, so we didn't get a chance to go inside. Oh well, that just means we'll have to come back.

The interior is modern, bright, and aesthetically pleasing, making it such a relaxing place to spend time. It's peaceful, well-maintained, and simply a great space to read, learn, and unwind. My favorite part is the children's area. The aquarium is always a hit, and I love the prehistoric theme with the dinosaur fossils and the fun ceiling design. It makes the space feel so imaginative and inviting for kids. The library is also thoughtfully laid out with dedicated areas for children, teens, magazines and publications, plus an extensive collection of books on the second floor. There are even study rooms you can reserve ahead of time, which is a great feature if you need a quiet place to work or study. Parking is convenient since it's next to the sheriff's station and shares a large parking lot, including basement parking.

Alongside borrowing physical books, having a library card here also allows you to download a bunch of ebooks and audiobooks on Libby. During my most recent visit, I came to upgrade my e library card to a physical one. It happened to be the day they had Hello Kitty library cards (which are sooo cute btw) so I ended up getting one of those! The crowds were huge due to the hype around them but I feel like the librarians here managed it very well and were super friendly. Overall, if you enjoy books and libraries, this one is worth checking out!

Lots of activities and clubs too over here such as Lego club or Chess club. Just gotta pay attention to the many flyers being displayed around. The hours here are pretty good and the Wifi speed is pretty handy. I don't really pay attention to how loud or quiet it is in here since I usually just keep headphones/earphones on.

There are multiple tables and work areas to use and almost every table will have an outlet attached or within reach. They do not allow any food in the library but drinks are okay- I bring in coffee or matcha without any problems. Reserved rooms are for 2 hours but the wait can be a while so sign up early! The remaining areas are pretty quiet to work in but it does get louder than library noise from 3-5pm on weekdays when the students from the nearby school come in. Bathrooms are clean and it feels pretty safe. Definitely would recommend anyone who needs a place to get their work done.

He's in conversation with same lady and I walk up smiling waiting to be acknowledged. I ask my question and his response "it's not that easy" well no sh*t that's why I'm asking.... The books are not organized by A.R points, grade or age. Its sections with categories/subjects... 1st grade books are mixed with 5th grade even 6th. I have a 3rd grader. He's not going to search one by one to find a book. I usually put him in the 3rd/4th grade section and let him browse. I like that it has paper towels coz I prefer it over the hand driers. It might be better for the environment but not for my health (unless I know that they actually disinfect those regularly, otherwise it harbors bacteria). The lady at the front was nice. The quiet library is open & airy, perfect for studying or simply perusing books. It has a large children's section with newer computers. It's conducive to learning & broadening our minds. I was probably one of the few kids in junior high (did I just age myself?) & high school who regularly visited the library to borrow books. I was a regularly at the Ivar (Hollywood Branch) Public Library & know that when the Mac desk top first came out-Cerritos Library had a roomful of them (Cerritos tax dollars at work, courtesy of the Cerritos Auto Square & the Cerritos mall). In this area (City Hall), there's an Olympic sized pool by the Senior Center (I think there are a total of 3, one of which has water slides ($25 entrance fee, unless it has changed) Dang, I should move to La Mirada! I had to print out some documents, and I noticed this library lets you start the process online…read more The printing/copy station is tucked away in the corner just past the help desk and computers. Once you upload the files you want printed and enter your e-mail address, you input it on the computer and pay. One of the employees that came out to help me told me that it'll charge the card $10 at first then correct itself. But on my bank account statement, I didn't see any payments go through initially, and a couple of days later, I was charged the right amount. It is 15 cents per page, convenient, and cheaper than Staples/FedEx. There is also a shelf near the front where they sell books and media for around $1-2 or less. The parking lot is a bit small and was already full a little past noon. It's kind of set up like the La Mirada library, right next to city hall.

The library counter is nearby in case you need a librarian to assist you. Free copies (maximum of 10 per day) are also available for library members. There is a small fee for each additional copy. You can also log on to a desktop for a maximum of one hour. Ask the librarian to open the bathroom for you because it's locked. Maybe that's why it's so clean!
