Artesia Library is such a gem in the area. The library is new, modern, and very clean! It has a lot of programs for kids, teen, and adults. Their book collection is a bit smaller than other libraries. How ever, you can place a hold/check out books from other libraries and pick up here. They also have a book selection in other languages and they have manga & comic books here! Lots of study places here. You need to get access from the staff for bathroom. There is also printing options library card holders.

This is one small library and the staff were very friendly. If you need to use the restroom you have to get buzzed in. Since this library is located in Little India they have a big collection of books in their native language.

The sound of the water and the dolphin family sculpture is so tranquil, and because I really connect with dolphins, it honestly felt like the perfect welcome. Right when you walk inside, the artwork in the glass displays pulls you in. It's creative, organized, and just visually nice to take in. As you wander further in, the large aquarium connected to the children's section is another standout -- it adds this calm, magical feel to the space. I grabbed a magazine and found a quiet window seat, and those 30 minutes of zero calls, zero texts, zero noise? Pure heaven. I didn't realize how much I missed just sitting and reading without a single interruption. Before heading out, I checked out the psychology and cooking sections, and it reminded me how much I've always loved libraries and bookstores. The whole visit made me want to get a library card and come back once a month just to enjoy that peaceful moment. I could've spent hours just checking out each section. If you want a quiet, beautiful place to escape for a bit, this library is it.

The library itself smells a bit moldy and it did trigger my allergies. The WiFi access wasn't available for me to use since I am not a Cerritos resident or a library card holder. What a bummer. The seeds library is nice and the 80s movie theater themed architecture interesting. I wouldn't mind visiting again if I am in the vicinity.

The library still feels a little on the old school side (the computers could be better updated) Outdoor: Parking is ample. It's right next to a park. It's also right by a major street (Del Amo) so you gotta keep an eye on your little ones when outside. Staff: The staff is fantastic, friendly, welcoming, and they remember you! This makes a difference. Children's area: The library is small but the kids area is nice and big for how small the library is. There are open ended toys and a little floor area to read. There's a sizable kids Spanish books area, which is what we normally go for. Programs: My daughter is in preschool 3x a week so it's hard to make it to the toddler reading times. However, we participated during the summer and it was great. She also participated in the reading program where she could get prizes and she loved that! The reading time usually includes reading, music/dancing, and a craft/art time. The app is super useful and really easy to use. If I forget our library card, I can just use the app. Did I mention how friendly the staff is?!

I've waited outside and have seen a woman come out and clean the glass doors. I can appreciate someone taking pride in their work place which makes it look presentable. The staff seemed friendly and welcoming. CON: The one thing I didn't like was... every time I've come there's a woman who unlocks the door from the inside and just walks away afterward. I think it would be a nice gesture or maybe common courtesy to actually open the door, say "We're open" and hold the door as people come in... I don't know. Maybe I'm asking too much but I just think of it as if there's someone waiting to come inside... I would also take the extra step to not just unlock the door but to say we're open and extend the door open for the patrons waiting. PROS: I like that it's welcoming and calm. They have space with tables where you can do quick meetups. WiFi does not lag and friendly staff. WOULD I RECOMMEND? WOULD I RETURN? I would recommend to anyone needing to use space and wanting to visit a quiet, cute little library to do so. Not to mention the books (lol). Very kid friendly - for all ages! (:

I actually am sitting in my car in the parking lot after briefly walking into to help the kids with homework. As soon as I got back to the car, I checked Yelp to see if they enabled no/half star ratings. The library is overflowing with homeless people. They are now all over the Children's areas and the smell and condition of the library is unbearable. It's clear that the city is enjoying their apportionment of homeless funding in exchange for helping them get into public spaces for shelter. As a result of this, the library, which ironically shares a parking lot with the police station and another gov building, is unusable for its intended purpose. Its smell is so putrid and heavy, my kids commented as soon as the door opened to enter. We searched for a place to sit that wasn't so rank or close to the homeless, but there was nowhere to sit. The other students in the building were also commenting, so it's a feeling shared by others -- not just myself. Looks like this library has been ruined.

As usual, I am surprised that I had not dropped a review for this bookstore, and I am here at least once a month, at the very least. Great big parking lot that is free but it is shared among many businesses at the Long Beach town center. Great experience each time. You could potentially get away from buying books and just open them up and read them there at the store. The staff is friendly and are knowledgeable so they can recommend you a book! They also have this... $40 Yearly Barnes and Nobles Subscription that knocks off 10% (20% at rare occasions within the year) for every purchase as well as a free cafe drink upgrade if the bookstore has a cafe (NOT A STARBUCKS, THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT STATBUCKS GIFT CARDS), and a free annual tote bag (you cannot double dip for a second bag until you renew it). Unless you're planning on spending $400+ for the next 12 months or you're a regular cafe go'er, I wouldn't say this is for you. The seating for the cafe is fine, but can fill up real easily with most customers that intend to stay more than an hour.
