Willy Wonka lives here? Several ways to view libraries, La Habra has a charming historic brick library. Come here to pick up a children's book for .10, pick up or return books, read a recent newspaper or study after class or go online, its up to you. Designed by architecture firm of Anthony and Langford in 1982 (original library given graciously by John & Anna Launer) it used to be their home 1898 to 1962. Shelves are warm wood and organically inviting. Notice cute little corners filled with books, art and even a section dedicated to author Ronald Dahl---wrote Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory. Children's section comes alive with bright colored geometric rug and red couches fit for a little Prince or Princess. The air conditioning made an interesting humming sound in this otherwise silent sanctuary. Challenge given to me was find a library open late on a Sunday. Jill Patterson (at the desk) was quick on the computer keys and before the result came she remarked OC Law Library. A mutual search revealed Ayala Science Library or Leatherby law library open until 10:00 pm. Got a peek into the used book store and set aside selections. Local Art is for sale on the wall---not Picasso---yet the lighting on canvas was similar to Vermeer. Small, charming little find in La Habra and a comfortable respite to bathe in the works of Roald Dahl or author of your choice. 3.5 stars is my rating. My third visit here was nothing to regret.

It's a small library with a so-so inventory of books. Staff is meh. Definitely not super friendly but I've never had any issues with them. Due to such a small space, the noises carry throughout the building. Furnishings need either a deep clean or a complete renovation. A lot of chairs have mystery stains on them. The restrooms are not terrible. The little bookstore inside the library is worth a browse. Every once in awhile there's some good books in there for dirt cheap.

The La Habra Library is a small library. The computers are outdated. If you are looking for a quiet library, the La Habra Library is not the place for you. The best thing about the La Habra Library is the used bookstore that is located inside the library. Books inside the used bookstore sell for 50 cents each. Children's books sell for 25 cents. Every item located in the hallway sells for 10 cents each. Every Thursday, the used bookstore sells homemade cookies for 50 cents each

I use it but they let people talk on their Cell phone while in the library. I guess I am just old school and prefer a library to be quiet.

Well, it's not a big library, it doesn't have the bells and whistles like that of fast internet or a salt fish tank but it's a COMMUNITY library.

I'm going to be honest, I stopped by on my way to the fmr mkt to use their facilities-very clean & well maintained, you'd have to be buzzed in to enter. I like that it has paper towels coz I prefer it over the hand driers. It might be better for the environment but not for my health (unless I know that they actually disinfect those regularly, otherwise it harbors bacteria). The lady at the front was nice. The quiet library is open & airy, perfect for studying or simply perusing books. It has a large children's section with newer computers. It's conducive to learning & broadening our minds. I was probably one of the few kids in junior high (did I just age myself?) & high school who regularly visited the library to borrow books. I was a regularly at the Ivar (Hollywood Branch) Public Library & know that when the Mac desk top first came out-Cerritos Library had a roomful of them (Cerritos tax dollars at work, courtesy of the Cerritos Auto Square & the Cerritos mall). In this area (City Hall), there's an Olympic sized pool by the Senior Center (I think there are a total of 3, one of which has water slides ($25 entrance fee, unless it has changed) Dang, I should move to La Mirada! Another place to consider -ing out!!

I usually go to the city library but I'm very close to county so occasionally I like to go. I've had a few visits here and staff is not approachable. It seems like they try to avoid you or just me. Lol The librarian is also not helpful. 1 years after my first bad experience with him. I approach his desk and just like the first time. He's in conversation with same lady and I walk up smiling waiting to be acknowledged. I ask my question and his response "it's not that easy" well no sh*t that's why I'm asking.... The books are not organized by A.R points, grade or age. Its sections with categories/subjects... 1st grade books are mixed with 5th grade even 6th. I have a 3rd grader. He's not going to search one by one to find a book. I usually put him in the 3rd/4th grade section and let him browse. I spent 30 minutes going book by book checking grade level The city library has books by grade level. I'm willing to donate some volunteer time to get the county library the same. Yelp 2020 3/100
