I think it's my second time here, and hopefully, they also remodel this library like La Mirada and Whittier. I did sign up for an e-library card a while ago, to access the music apps. It took only a couple of minutes to sign up--literally the fastest process ever. The librarians at the front desk were so friendly and welcoming. They let me choose from 2 different designs, but I went with the older one. This is a small building, but it feels cozy inside. The bookstore only takes cash or check since there isn't a way for them to take card payments, and they have so many cute postcards! I like how they have them on a rack because most places I've been to, they're just in a box. Anyway, they have so many resources here, despite the size. I was happy to discover magazines and major newspapers like the LA Times, Orange County Register, NY Times, and even a Korean one. I was also given a paper of all the locations within the county where the card is applicable. read more

Willy Wonka lives here? Several ways to view libraries, La Habra has a charming historic brick library. Come here to pick up a children's book for .10, pick up or return books, read a recent newspaper or study after class or go online, its up to you. Designed by architecture firm of Anthony and Langford in 1982 (original library given graciously by John & Anna Launer) it used to be their home 1898 to 1962. Shelves are warm wood and organically inviting. Notice cute little corners filled with books, art and even a section dedicated to author Ronald Dahl---wrote Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory. Children's section comes alive with bright colored geometric rug and red couches fit for a little Prince or Princess. The air conditioning made an interesting humming sound in this otherwise silent sanctuary. Challenge given to me was find a library open late on a Sunday. Jill Patterson (at the desk) was quick on the computer keys and before the result came she remarked OC Law Library. A mutual search revealed Ayala Science Library or Leatherby law library open until 10:00 pm. Got a peek into the used book store and set aside selections. Local Art is for sale on the wall---not Picasso---yet the lighting on canvas was similar to Vermeer. Small, charming little find in La Habra and a comfortable respite to bathe in the works of Roald Dahl or author of your choice. 3.5 stars is my rating. My third visit here was nothing to regret. read more

Nice public library. I have come here a couple times back in the days. Very small library between Orange County and Los Angeles County. Right near Sheriffs stations. Not very many books here and magazines. Small staff and computers. Nice community library i enjoy stopping bu when in the neighborhood. read more

We are new to the area. So we had to try this one. This library is ok... we use it for my 6 year old. He is not a huge fan. He can not find the level books he needs because the books are not filed by reading level. Our experience was just ok. My son loves libraries and this one did not do it for him. Also please tell the young lady that reads to the kids to stop following them and asking... it's creepy. Also maybe the city can get better funding to update this library read more

Free WiFi. No need library card number. Very old looking. Tables are old and so are the outlets. Barely any outlets for people to plug their electronics. I would say 'maybe' 2-4 outlets. The outlets are scattered at different corners too.... but it's prob will be taken by the time you come unless you come when it opens. Cuz those people prob stay for a long time. I haven't gone when kids are out of school but it was quiet when there weren't much kids in the summer. There is a private parking lot. I think they definitely need an upgrade/renovation Big time!! read more

It's a small library with a so-so inventory of books. Staff is meh. Definitely not super friendly but I've never had any issues with them. Due to such a small space, the noises carry throughout the building. Furnishings need either a deep clean or a complete renovation. A lot of chairs have mystery stains on them. The restrooms are not terrible. The little bookstore inside the library is worth a browse. Every once in awhile there's some good books in there for dirt cheap. read more

The lady answering the phone is not nice. Called right now at 1:00 pm and she was not friendly nor said bye. I asked if they process passports and she said, no and hung up without saying bye. Very rude. This library needs to have their employees take customer service classes. read more

Well, it's not a big library, it doesn't have the bells and whistles like that of fast internet or a salt fish tank but it's a COMMUNITY library. By that, I mean it's a library that stood the tales of time. You can see the entrance used to be on the other side of the building so there were efforts that they moved over to the larger parking lot. Upon entrance, you can also see a small selection of books for sale. But what I really love here is the staff , they are great . Super helpful and friendly. Since summer time is here, it's time for the summer reading program. Not only do they have the ones for the kids, they also have one for the adults. Yes, I signed up and so should more people. The perk of signing up will get you $1 off any book for sale here and a free Chipotle coupon. They are great with activities and events, make sure you check out their homepage. I was fortunate enough to come here this past weekend when Roy Choi was here for a booksigning. Since Roy is such a humble guy when he speaks, he loves to speak for small places like these which represents the small people. Of course, Kogi truck was on hand as well and their stuff doesn't suck. Even though I don't live nearby, I use OCPL.org all the time and love that my library card is good through the familie of Orange County libraries. If you have a bad time, just come here or any of the other libraries in OC, it'll definitely perk you up. read more

This library is so much fun! I have a 2-year old, and we love coming here regularly. The library staff is so friendly and approachable. One woman got us all set up for their 1,000 books before kindergarten program. The library is clean, organized and comfortable to spend time in. I was glad to find a library open on Sunday. However, when I arrived, I quickly discovered that none of the study tables have a plug for a computer charger. There are 2 single person desks near a plug, both occupied. I tried to sit in the magazine section near a wall plug, trying to balance my laptop, textbook and paper on my lap. I love this little library so much. It's not a big library but I prefer it from all other branches. The staff here are so friendly and helpful! You can tell they love reading! I had so many questions about the elibrary process and they were so quick to help me thru the process. I'm going to move to diamond bar soon but I may still keep coming back here. Most libraries value a quiet environment. Not this library. On several occasions over the past few months, I've noticed that even the staff doesn't speak in softer voices. I realize this is a small library and therefore sound tends to carry; however, this is all the more reason for the staff to 'make their rounds' to keep the noisy patrons in check. I will be looking for a more peaceful place to study for my exams. My headphones are normally very sufficient in blocking out sound. If i could give this 0 stars I would. There's this certain librarian with white hairs that's very rude. You can't ask her questions because she will treat you like you are STUPID. She doesn't take you seriously, she thinks that everyone in the library wether new or experienced user knows as much as she does. If someone asks a simple question about how to print something, she should explain as if she's handling customer service. Not as if she's talking to a mentally challenged person. It makes me want throw up for such horrible service. She should be fired. She made my day hell. read more

The La Habra Library is a small library. The computers are outdated. If you are looking for a quiet library, the La Habra Library is not the place for you. The best thing about the La Habra Library is the used bookstore that is located inside the library. Books inside the used bookstore sell for 50 cents each. Children's books sell for 25 cents. Lovely little place. This library may be small, but they sure work well with what they have. They often have activities and events for children, which is fantastic for families, especially during the holidays. I liked the meeting room they have as well. It's very spacious and is an excellent spot to listen to lectures and talks by a variety of authors. I went to one yesterday where Marty Brounstein spoke about his book "Two Among the Righteous Few." Excellent talk! Very interesting! The staff there did a fine job preparing everything and making all guests feel comfortable. My only complaint about this place is that there's not enough parking. I usually don't have an issue since I mostly go on days where there aren't really major events going on, but when there are, I imagine it can be a bit of a pain to get parking. read more

This happens to be the Loudest Library I've had the Displeasure to visit. There is a So-Called Quiet Zone that isn't even close to quiet as people converse or talk on their phones! It is posted as such but folks just ignore the fact that some of us follow the Library rules & would prefer to be undosturbed by this NONSENSE!!! I remember coming to this library when I was in jr. high and reading all of the teen magazines while I waited for my mother to pick me up after school, I have good memories of this place. I volunteered here while I was unemployed too. Staff here is beyond nice, they're great. I still go here looking for books, using their Internet, and just to say hi to the manager Kathi. La Habra Library is where I do a lot of movie rentals all for free, and I can come over to get on the computer and get special instruction on any programs I don't know. I come over about 4 or 5 times a week; Library is open seven days a week. I really love the courtesy the Customer Service Representatives pay to the people who come in here. They have a lot of patience and seem to be very knowledgeable; I hardly go anywhere else. The computers are up to date and have numerous programs you can educate yourself on. Why, then, am I adding another quarter star? * The Friends of the La Habra Public Library's used book shop is surprisingly large and well stocked. In fact, it's one of the best library used-book stores in north Orange County and neighboring communities. * Finally, I have good memories of coming here for summer book clubs during elementary school. Don't know if the current crew here is as welcoming and helpful as the staff from the late '60s through the early '80s, but the folks working here back then were great. I don't know what's up with this library. As soon as I got in, there were couple of people looking high on weed or something. Then, people were on the phone/consistently talking to each other and kids were running around/shouting. It felt like about a half of the people were being loud. This was sooooo weird and such a shocking experience. If you prefer loud libraries, this is the place to go. Not for me tho. read more

They don't have the greatest selection, like some other libraries, but I find that to be a plus. I always end up picking up a great book I never would have heard of otherwise. The staff, from my experience, has been nothing but friendly. It does tend to get a little noisy once in while, but it's so small I would be surprised if it didn't. They have a great program on certain new books that allows you to take them out for three weeks instead of seven days. It's definitely worth it! read more

This is a pretty decent library, though it can get a noisy in here if all the kids are there. It's a decent size so they actually have a good amount of books. The favorite part about this place is that there's a section just for fantasy books. They seemed to have every book in most of the major fantasy series which was really nice. read more

I come here to study because it is so close to home. This library is okay. It is very small, so if anyone makes noise, everyone hears it. On several occasions children have been very noisy (screaming, calling out for parents, etc) - the parent(s) nor librarian asked them to stop screaming! Sometimes people leave their cell phone volume on high and you can hear it ring no matter where you are in the library (because it is so small), and even answer the phone and talk in a normal or loud voice. What happened to libraries being QUIET? I see complaints about the wifi connection in other reviews but I haven't had any trouble with it. I haven't dealt with the staff personally but from what I see they are friendly to those asking for help. The library is clean. I just wish it were larger and that people visiting the library were more courteous. I do suggest they post signs reminding people to turn their cell phone volume off, and to talk quietly. There will always be people who will be jerks and do what they want anyway, but this MIGHT help at least just a little? P.S. Beautiful decorations for Day of The Dead! read more

Meh. The library is only OK. Kind of small. They used to be closed on Fridays!!! but have since changed that since they got more funding. In years past the librarians were SO depressed-looking - older ladies that seemed to hate their jobs and hated the patrons and were just grumpy and unfriendly overall. A couple are still there but they will act nice if you poke them with a happy stick. Plus there are more librarians now that are younger and more cheerful. read more

It's a modest library compared to others, but they do a great job with what they have. I'm glad they are open on the weekends and they have some nice events for kids such as the upcoming Dia de los Muertos celebration. They have a small play area for kids under 5. I love bringing my daughter here and she enjoys it as well. Her favorite part is buying books from the store. They have a pretty large collection if you have some time to dig around. At 25 cents for kids and 50 cents for regular books, it's well worth it. read more

I am overwhelmed by the stupidity, and the disconnect with what is going on in the world at this library. They have no order in which the books are arranged They have a book speaking of "Roe vs. Wade" and then not have "Won by Love" written specifically by Norma McCorvey, the "Jane Roe" of the case. They say her book is an autobiography, but the other book is informational...OK, so it's about her, but a book by her is not informational. They never have a book you want. I tried to order a book online called "Son of Hamas" I called and no one there knew what "Hamas" was...they thought it was a Spanish word Jamas that meant "nothing" not the Spanish word Jamas, which has more of a meaning of "hopeful" The librarians had no idea what Hamas, nor the Muslim Brotherhood were. I said, no, Hamas, the radical Islamic group?? I told them I tried to order the book online, and it wasn't working. After 4 times of asking about online ordering, she finally says..."Oh, so you have the computer on?"!! Way to get my Blood pressure going. I say, close this branch down, save some government money. There are enough libraries that are good then keeping this place opened and funded. No wonder this state is flat broke... read more
