I paid $150.00 for delivery of two ocotillos and one is missing 1/2 the dirt. I called the office and the girl did not care and was not interested in hearing about my concerns, or offering any hints/tips for ensuring the plant will survive. She said "ocotillo can survive almost anything and are sold barefoot sometimes". This is so very disappointing to be treated this way after spending over $300 on two plants and delivery. I liked the healthiness of your plants at the nursery and wanted them professionally delivered, but that was not what happened. I will never use your nursery and completely regret using your delivery service. I will make sure everyone I know hears about this experience and I will post this on YELP and Google so that other prospective customers realize they cannot trust the quality of your delivery service and there is no customer care after the sale. read more

The first time I stopped by, I was on my way home because I was planning to buy my string of pearls from another nursery the following weekend, but thought it wouldn't hurt to check Whitfill Nursery out since they are closer to me than my regular plant spot. Wife and I, with a wish list of Spring landscaping items came here for the first time Saturday. Found almost everything we wanted, beautiful, healthy, quality green stuff. Friendly and helpful, experienced staff member helped us select the best of each type. He then did a great job of helping me load it into the SUV. Prices are fair, selection good, staff efficient. Liked everything so much, came back with buddy today to pick up the 2 pomegranate trees in his pickup, and bought 2 more shrubs. We'll be returning, I'm sure! read more

I really like Whitfield nursery, it inspires me to plant and grow things. It's like an un manicured yard with wild chickens running around while you shop. The people that work there know their plants and can help you choose what will best fit your shady or sunny spot. It might be pricier than Home Depot but I prefer paying a bit more for the knowledge and love of all things gardening. read more

I went to Whitfill nursery someday around Dec 7th, 2020. This place is RIDICULOUSLY gorgeous!!!!! On this particular trip, I had been to one other local nursery prior to stopping here and I will definitely come back HERE next time I need something. I walked around for a short time before a man (wearing a mask, thank you) greeted me and asked if I was looking for anything specific. He helped me find what I was there to pick up and I was in/out in minutes. The best part for me as an animal lover was that as I was talking to him, I spotted two TURKEYS walking around! I would give it a ZERO if that rating were allowed. Since the Covid Pandemic it seems that their staff is in a nasty mood. I was greeted rudely from the beginning. I wanted to exchange a $17 glazed pot for a $32 pot. The clerk wasnt able to do the math, so I when told him the amount I would owe him, he became even nastier and told me to "just take the pot. Go on, get out of here." I was willing to pay the difference. I've never been treated so rudely. read more

I can't give enough praise for this company! They are amazing in knowledge and customer service. We recently built a house and had it fully landscaped. Whitfill Nursery went above and beyond to take care of us throughout the entire process. Gabe, our salesman has been there for 30 years and is so kind and helpful. Jennifer the manager, also very knowledgeable and so helpful to take care of us. Joy the designer, although very busy took the time to come out and help us out on some design questions. She was super friendly. Pancho and his crew were over the top amazing! They worked so hard and were so accommodating in the heat. When our large trees were being delivered we discovered the initial space for one of the trees was not going to work. Needless to say I was a little stressed, Pancho took control, offered a solution and eased my mind. We were even offered to go to their tree farm south of town to find the perfect trees. Dale who works there took us through the nursery in the heat without hesitation with a great sense of humor. He made it fun. After we closed on our house we hired many companies for various projects, some we would hire again, some NOT, but Whitfill Nursery is at the top of our list for awesome everything. They also have great prices. I shopped many nurseries and they beat their competitors. If you are shopping for your yard please give them a shot, you won't be disappointed! Buyer Beware - Over charged my debit card (not credit card) by $700 and no customer service or common courtesy. The day after my visit to whitfill, I noticed a charge on my debit card for $754. I checked my receipt and confirmed that my purchase was only $75.42. I called in around 0845 and spoke to a gentleman who was actually quite courteous. He apologized and stated that the manager, Jennifer would be in around 1100 and that he would have her call me. He took my name and number. He said I might need to come in with the receipt. I thought no problem, I'll just wait to hear from the manager. By 1345, I still had no call back from the manager. So I called in. The girl who answered the phone was very short with me and after a brief hold she said that I would have to bring the receipt in. I guess the manger was too busy to get on the phone. So I drove the 20 minutes to Whitfills with my receipt showing I was overcharged. At this point, I was annoyed that they overcharged me (their mistake) and then couldn't even be bothered to call me back. Upon arrival, I asked for the manager and spoke to Jennifer. I asked if she was aware that I was overcharged. She said that she was. I then asked her if she got my number and she said that she got a note but didn't know that she was supposed to call me back. Still not even a simple apology for my inconvenience. After about a 15 minute wait, she returned and refunded the amount they overcharged. Unfortunately, she still couldn't bring herself to say "sorry for the inconvenience" or anything that showed a concern for her customer when Whitfills made the mistake and were clearly in the wrong. To be clear, I was not annoyed about being overcharged. I know things happen and I knew I would get my money back. What I had a problem with was the complete lack of empathy or common courtesy from the manager. There was zero accountability from the manager for not calling me back and she couldn't even apologize for her employees mistake. If you go here, double check your account afterwards and don't expect any courtesy. read more

The entire staff was super friendly and helpful!! There were so many beautiful and healthy plants to choose from. They definitely went above and beyond. They are actually enforcing masks unlike some other businesses in Arizona right now. As someone who's at risk, I felt safe and was able to enjoy myself while there. They were also super helpful when a customer became upset after refusing to wear a mask. He was yelling at everyone, which obviously just isn't sanitary right now. They made sure to keep us safe and away from him. They apologized profusely even though it wasn't their fault. If you are looking for a safe place to get plants this is your spot! read more

My overall experience here is always pleasant. They have a wide variety of plants and veggies to choose from and the people who work here are more than happy to answer questions and share any tips or tricks when it comes to the plants they offer. The owner herself is often on the premises and is very knowledgeable and happy to help with any questions and will even help direct you towards similar plants or plants that are best suited for you (such as being a new gardener or dealing with the seasons of arizona and what fits best during the times.) The pricing is reasonable and they cover most issues with plants (especially the larger ones they sell.) My only downside to my visits here is sometimes the staff doesn't know where specific plants are and it can turn into a going back and fourth looking for said plant. read more

I had a great experience with people who work there, Gabriel gave me great recommendations as far as tree choices for my house and plants. I purchased 4 trees and they are doing ok. The only thing I wish they could of told me is to give shade my fruit trees at least for the first summer they didn't say anything so I came back and told me it would be a good idea. They deliver the trees on the day of delivery with no problems and great service. Don't come on the weekend because they are extremely busy, especially on not summer days. My family and I came here on a weekend afternoon to browse since we haven't seen many nurseries around since moving to the area. We weren't sure what to expect but we have been excited to start planting and wanted to get some ideas. I'm so happy we came by. This was a great find. The nursery is fairly large and has everything from trees, to ground cover, to hanging baskets, and succulents. The pottery selection is pretty nice as well and decently priced. We are always checking out tomato and pepper plants, and the selection was a good size and looked good. I didn't see any certified organic plants, but they do have seeds in the chemical area. I didn't see any herb plants on the day that we went, and those that they did have looked like they got too much sun, but just vegetables, they have a lot of herb seeds as well. I'm excited to go back to pick up some plants and flowers, and my kids will be excited to go back and gawk at the birds. read more
