Waited in the restaurant for over an hour before food arrived. When it finally showed up the order was completely wrong. I ordered grilled (rare) mahi dinner with baked potato and veg medley. I got an overcooked grilled mahi sandwich, no veg and baked potato that was not really hot. Brianna the server was awesome though and should be commended for handling herself professionally. Not fancy, but good value, good service, and cool location We rolled in on a Tuesday night and the special was an all-you-can eat shrimp boil. I'm not a huge fan of shrimp, but went with the flow and ordered it anyway. Had an Old Fashioned from the bar that was delish too. The food was of course plentiful, the shrimp and sausage were great, a few veggies thrown in and some corn on the cob. You do have to peel the shrimp, so be prepared for the extra work, worth it since the shrimp was good. Our server was very prompt, the all-you-can-eat specials took some time to make it to the table, so I can only assume the kitchen was busy. The decor is classic bar...with the bonus of some autographed guitars from Lynrd Skynrd (how the hell do you spell that?) and Molly Hatchet. Locals. We ordered through Uber Eats and the order was not what we ordered. We did not get the side salad and the whole catfish was strips. Trying to get any help through Uber Eats with response through their questionnaire is worthless. As far as the food quality, most of it was not good. Okay so let me start with the positive.... The ambiance looks fantastic, the space is big and has a lot to offer visually.... That said I can't rate much else, because the service was non-existent! I arrived almost an hour before the kitchen closed, which is apparently when the staff checks out. After sitting for a while, and all of the wait staff passing by and ignoring us, we asked the bar, which told us the kitchen closed in 5 min and we were outta luck. Would have been great to know that we needed to order from the bar or whatever. The music, atmosphere and dance floor were great. Unfortunately I was so hungry I forgot to take photos, thinking I would when I got my order in. Maybe eat somewhere else, and come here for drinks and dancing, because the service and hospitality stops at the entrance unfortunately. Ultimately I'm more disappointed about having to write a less than stellar review, because I was actually excited to promote this lovely looking long time establishment. So perhaps your luck, and other reviews will shed a better light on this place, unfortunately I can not at this time, as I had to drive to Mellow Mushroom to get food & then went to Cheers for drinks and dancing, both of which had fantastic service! If management reads this, I'm not opposed to an edit, since I want to like this place, but perhaps rethink your service strategy, and at least make customers informed/have a management/host of some sort when people arrive, so that costumers can have a better experience. Awesome dockside eatery in Middleburg. Great food and drinks + a lovely view and live music. Since it's so popular, the kitchen can get overwhelmed, but! They do have a TON of seating so while you might have to wait an hour for your entrees on a Saturday night you can at least get seated, enjoy the atmosphere, grab an app like their giant pretzel (so good! ) and some beers. I tried their salmon bowl with brown rice and wasabi cole slaw and enjoyed this. My man enjoyed his shrimp tacos. When I tried three of the raw oysters there seemed to be grit like sand or a broken shell in each one. Personally would not order those from here again. My friend raved about the cilantro butter cream sauce on the mahi mahi. Hush puppies were on point! Sweet potato fries were also great while the mac and cheese could have been better. For a city surrounded by water the places to grab a bite or drink on a boat are few and far between. So, if you're going to go to one of the few places, Whitey's is a great place to go! There were 5 of us so we ordered a few different appetizers. The gator tail and the mahi fish nuggets were excellent! Once we placed our order we returned to the boat and waited for a phone call to pick up our food. It was a gorgeous day to sit on our boat and enjoy our food. This is a good seafood restaurant with views of the beautiful river. We even spotted an alligator lollygagging near the pier. This place has been on my to go list for awhile. My dinner companions ordered fish and chips and the fish tacos. I ordered the shrimp basket with cheese grits. Everything was hot and delicious. My Rhode Island friend had never tried a hush puppy or seen rice in the salt shaker!! We do take things like that for granted here in the wonderful south. We've been to Whiteys fish camp a few times in the past. We like hanging out watching the boats dock or listening to live music. Drinks were fine as always the atmosphere and view are great. Today's visit was disappointing. We had a late lunch on the enclosed outside patio. I had the fish and chip dinner which was better. They forgot both our coleslaw sides and our waitress disappeared. A food runner served us lunch and was gone. My wife had the Fish of the Day. It was grouper. She had it blackened and it was definitely not fresh. Even with the blackened spices, grouper should never taste strong. The market price for that small piece of grouper was $32.99. Too much for a less than fresh piece of fish. Unfortunately, our waitress was away from the area for a good 15 minutes. We knew she was gone, because we had to ask another server for our waitress and when she returned she was putting on her apron. I understand sh*t happens, it might have been a personal emergency but there was no apology for her absence and it was too late to take the fish back. We arrived via jet skis which are pretty easy to dock, but they have a dock master who did point us in the direction of where to park and helped several pretty large boats come in and leave. Our server, Brooklyn, was amazing!! Despite being busy at lunch time on a beautiful Saturday, she was so attentive and thoughtful!! You know how sometimes you'll ask for a water or extra dressing and the server forgets because it's kind of a small request - she never did! When we ordered, we asked for ranch with our fries which came, but she also brought the dip the gator tail came with because she knew we really enjoyed it! As far as food goes, we split two apps and a sandwich. The gator tail was very good!! The fish dip wasn't bad, but not the best I've had. My husband enjoyed the Whitey's Fish Sandwich after he "doctored" it up with toppings and condiments, I thought it kind of lacked flavor (forgot to take a picture). Oh my, Florida brings the rain storms and this is the place to be during one. You get a protected table right on the water. It is a beautiful view. The food is good. The portions big. This Restaurant not only has Amazing food but its lots of fun! I went on a Friday night when they have Deck Music from 5pm-9pm, then starting at 9pm they have a featured Live Band, this particular night "Boogie Freaks" was featured, making for an amazing fun filled night! The décor resembles a large Tiki Bar, with lots of outdoor seating overlooking the water. They also have a large docking pier, for boaters, making it easy to access via waterways. You can chose to sit inside "Dining Room" or in the outside "Bar" area. The inside dining room closes at 10:30pm on Friday and Saturday nights while the outside bar stays open until "close", but please keep in mind that after 10:30pm the outside bar area doesn't permit individuals under 21 to enter. Inside the restaurant you will find Arcade games, Pool Billiards, and the stage for Live Bands, while outside you can enjoy Deck music and "Ring-On-A-String" game, so whether you're inside or outside you are sure to have a great time! Came here for an early Mother's Day lunch. Ordered the Whiteys Fried fish sandwich, gator basket, shrimp tacos, salads and hush puppies. Our waiter Enrique was off the chain AWESOME. Sadly, lunch took almost an hour to come out and it was all cold. Enrique sent it right back and had it remade. He made the experience worth it. We sat outside by the boat area and enjoyed the view of the water and boats. We come here often and this is the only time we had a not so wonderful experience. So I would recommend Whitey's. Been here a few times. A Go-To place when up in the Middleburg or Blanding area. I always defer to a seafood entree and of course some oysters, gator bites, a/o hush puppies. Food is always on point. Great and fun place to be. This is a very popular for those who live close by. I live in old Arlington and it was more than forty miles from my home. I knew Ben Robinson, who I personally know, since he was a kid. He is now a Guitarist, in the Preacher Stone Band. So, this is why I was willing to travel the distance to hear them perform. The stage was big, but there was a pole right in the middle of the front of the stage. I could not see the lead singer very well. I bought two tickets early Friday morning. It was my old time friend, Tammy's birthday weekend. We both ordered a drink and then we split the mahi mahi dinner with two sides, we chose salads. Upon my Yelp check-in, free hush puppies, so they honored that as well. We had the best table/seats in the house, right in front of the band. I don't know how we managed to get such great seats, but we did. The drink was good and the salad was good and fresh, the mah mahi was blackened-but was very dry. I could not eat my half. I failed to walk out to the outdoor bar area, but through the windows, it looked nice. The indoor bar looked huge and the dining areas were choppy and different levels. Now, on the parking area, very tight spots. They employ a nice and helpful young man to help you find a spot. I thought that was nice and helpful. Upon leaving, for safety sake, you can only turn right, go over the bridge and do a u turn at the light. This road is very busy, well traveled and the cars fly down this road. This is my 2nd time coming here. The parking lot was for me just a tad confusing as for where to park but I finally found a spot. Upon entering, you will quickly hear music pumping, a bit rowdy & it kind of feels a bit messy. We followed the narrow hallway till we hit the hostess. It's a little confusing walking on in, but it's not complicated. They sat us down very quickly, but our waiter took super long. By the time he arrived, we were ready to order. Our server was very nice but not very attentive. We had to request napkins, straws and ask for cocktail sauce twice. These are things that I feel I shouldn't have to ask for. They have a beautiful view of the water and their food is very delicious. You can choose eat in or out.
