    New Ahi Tuna App

The new food items are good! Service they are still working out the kinks, but good job changing the menu up at Whiteys! The Ahi Tuna App was fresh and the buffalo shrimp was lightly fried and full of flavor. Well done!

Not the same whiteys.down graded looks like the new cracker barrel inside and the food was like expensive fast food. Not good at all wasted $120.00 it is bad when you go out to eat in a place that cooks food and they can't even cook .

Stopped by for happy hour and dessert. We got a pound of peel and eat a shrimp (not included on happy hour) and the fried mushroom (half off). Was disappointed they no longer have their bread pudding, but we got the lava cake instead and it was delicious. Our server was great. She checked on us a lot and everyone else they're working was so polite. I got caught up, looking at all the critters hanging from the ceiling and almost bumped into one of them and we had a good laugh. This place has critters and decor all over the place which makes it very interesting to just look around. I thought the alligator fish was hilarious. He sat on the back patio and even though it was February, it was still very nice not too cold.

I met my future daughter-in-law! Brooklyn is an absolute sweetheart that we had the privilege of having as our lunch server on Saturday. This was my first-ever dining experience in Jacksonville, Florida, and it couldn't have made a better impression. The service was warm, friendly, and genuinely top-tier. From the host, to Brooklyn, to her mom Amy (yes, I got to meet my future in-laws), to even the random staff who rescued me when I got lost looking for the bathroom -- every single person we met was welcoming and kind. The Gilligan's Island-style atmosphere, complete with a gas pump on the outdoor deck, was new for me. I'm a Boston city guy now living in LA, so this kind of "Florida coastal dive-chic" was a first -- and I loved every bit of it. Food-wise? Phenomenal. The shrimp bisque was a revelation -- my first time trying it, since I've always been a lobster bisque loyalist. But this one? Creamy, buttery, and left an aftertaste so good it felt like the bisque kissed you back. The white wine cream pasta was so incredible I demolished it too fast, then kept picking at everyone else's food. I didn't realize how full I was until hours later... and even now, three days later back home in LA, I'm still craving it enough to plan another trip to Jacksonville before the year's out. I can't wait to come back. ... And Brooklyn (and Amy), I'll be sure to bring my sons (you can take your pick!).

Under new ownership and recently renovated, we decided to go with neighbors and give it a try again. The duality had deteriorated for several of the past few years. The new menu incorporates some of Harry's Cajun dishes and the fried food was reduced. New flooring and decor but true to the original fish camp vibe. A children's area has been added for young families and the pool room removed. Less of a bar scene atmosphere now. Service staff was retained from previous staff. With a visit of you have not gone in awhile. Wishing the new owners the best of luck!

Atmosphere is good, location is good, parking is an absolute nightmare, particularly on the weekend evenings. People are parking half a mile down the road and walking. Parking is so willy-nilly. The music is nice, the atmosphere is cool, the food is OK, it's not great, it's not terrible, it's just OK. They're selling the atmosphere not the food. We come here, maybe once every six months to listen to some music and hang out with some friends. I'm sure we'll continue to do so although after the last Parking debacle Ware, it took me 25 minutes to find a parking space driving in circles, I'm seriously rethinking it.

    Lots of empty glasses...

Wanted to try the new menu so gave it a try on Monday night. Service was incredibly slow, including getting food from the kitchen. Definitely not a good experience tonight.

    Low Country Pasta

This was my first visit, since Whitey's was purchased. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff is fabulous. The food...while very good, I wish there were some specialty dishes that aren't spicy, or at least optional on the spice. The grits are no longer savory. They're sweet grits, with a bit of spice. I will not order them again. The fish dip, crab cakes, and low country pasta were delicious. They definitely need larger glasses for beverages, especially in Florida heat, and with the addition of so many spicy dishes. I believe they had to refill my glass about 6 times! That's ridiculous for customers and the wait staff.

Fried seafood can be hit or miss, but they nailed it. Light and fluffy breading, no oiliness, perfect seasoning. My fish sandwich was perfect. Very friendly waitress and quick service. I was surprised how fast our food was delivered. The location is the absolute best part. It's on a creek with docks and boats. The decorating inside is super cool. I really loved the ambiance. It's too bad my dad is moving away, because I'd come here every time I was in town. Based on my experience, I'm genuinely surprised they have 3.6 stars. Usually minting less than 4 is garbage, so that rating is not deserved. I reckon the low rating might be because they get really busy on weekends.

Calamari was tender, gator tail done perfectly, huge mushrooms and just the right seasoning on the pickles.

The had an entire wall of specialty drinks but then in the end, I couldn't decide and went with a Long Island Ice Tea. The bartender was friendly and the drinks were served promptly. We ordered from the menu, which is mostly standard bar fare. Fried mushrooms and the fried pickles were delicious. Our pretzels were overcooked and that was disappointing. The food does take quite a while to come out so be prepared. They also had a number of pool tables. I would visit again.

Didn't take long to get my order or drinks. The vibe is definitely my style. Decided to take my wife as she loves these kinda bars as well and to try the food. It did not disappoint! Took a little while to get the food, but we'll worth it. Chicken wings were great. BBQ Moon Burger was so big I couldn't finish it. Tasted so good I tried. Once again the staff was great and attentive. Drinks were cold and fast. Pool tables, dart board and TouchTunes. Ample seating inside and out. I overheard them talking about some interior updates. Can't wait to check that out within my next visits. If cold drinks, good food, and great service is what you look for in a bar & grill, then definitely check out the Mercury Moon.
