Let me first start out by saying, my husband and I initially went to a place called Momax in Merrillville with awful response service. We had to call numerous times, despite visiting them a second time since no email or calls were being replied to even after they said they would reach out. We finally gave up and searched for another local countertop company. [we have connects in Illinois, but wanted to keep it local] So glad we did and found Prestige!!! The second I walked in to Prestige Custom Stone, The front door staff were very friendly and helpful ...even their beautiful lab was friendly!! Debbie came out to the showroom & approached me asking what I was looking to do, once I explained what I was trying to acquire, she asked if I'd give her a lil time to do a search and she'd be back. Within about 15 minutes she came out with an elaborate hand written list of the quartz products that she felt would match my requests. She literally took the time to hand write these items!!! In addition, she gave me a list of vendors which carried the product & where I could visit to touch, see and choose the exact quartz. Soon as we walked out the door we were approached by a gentleman asking if we found everything we were looking for; I actually did have another question. He then directed me to another guy [the owner] who graciously answered my question & some, even with us interrupting his lunch. Thankfully it was noted the one item I had a sample of would not work in the area I was looking to have done. Hubs and I took a ride out to the vendors, found the PERFECT quartz and the deal was made. The fella who was measuring everything couldn't have been nicer and more precise in all his accuracy and suggestions. Super nice guy! The guys fabricating did an AMAAAAAAZING job on the counter matching all the veins perfectly with our requested mitered edges. Just awesome!! The crew installing the counters were exceptionally fun, nice, professional, clean, placing tarps everywhere and vacuuming and wiping every imaginable area that may have been affected. They did everything right even asking 'hows this, you good with this?" We then thought to ask if they were able to take our old counter pieces and fabricate the [2 pieces] accordingly to fit our newer laundry room cabinet tops. For a small fee, they 'Made The Old Counters Work' for this space!! We were so excited!! What would have otherwise been tossed out was wonderfully repurposed by these amazing people! Estimate/Quote: Compared to their competition, Kusiak could do a better job in detailing the work to be done, exactly what would be covered in a nice and detailed package. While this isn't a deal breaker, it certainly does place the homeowner at ease when spending $$$ thousands on a new roof. Price: Very competitive. As I mentioned, I contacted other companies and found a disturbing $5,000 swing between lowest and highest. Kusiak was among the most competitive in their pricing. Craftsmanship: Very pleased with their attention to detail. While they just completed the job this morning, everything appears to be in order and the work appears to be very professional. In addition to their competitive pricing, one of the main reasons I chose Kusiak is their application of a 6' ice & water protection. This is twice what others quoted as most only apply 3'. Warranty: This is what set them apart in my opinion. A 10 year warranty on labor is no laughing matter. Again, almost double the time frame what other companies quoted. Pros: Crew was very diligent in scanning for nails as we have a large GSD. Cons: They could have done a slightly better job of keeping me in the loop when crews were coming/not coming. They arrived promptly at 8:30 AM, and communicated their plans thoughtfully. I thought for sure they would have to come back on a different day to complete the job-- but indeed they underpromised and overdelivered. They did an exceptional job taking care of our home. They protected wall corners and the bar to avoid damage. No seams can be visible anywhere! They left the place in immaculate condition. Very professional and went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with the job. Special thanks to Autumn, the sales rep who advised us on the carpet choices and pricing options.
