Before meeting Coriana, I had long since given up on giving my hard earned money to some mall "nail…read moreprofessional" that made me feel horrible about the state of my nails, AND gave me a full set of 100% crap acrylic nails that fell off in less than a week. Not only did they look horrible but let's be honest, I was too embarrassed with myself to go back. Since meeting Coriana, I've gone from nubbins, to BEAUTIFUL hand sculpted gel nails. From a square shape, to almond, back to square again. Then I decided to try just polish. Turns out habits are called that for a reason, they are hard to break. After I bit all of my nails off again, instead of being embarrassed to go back, I got ahold of her right away. Not only did she understand, she made a last minute appointment for me!!! Long story (not so short), Coriana's lovely in-home salon makes you feel like you're just that; AT HOME. It's clean, professional, and her prices are to die for. She makes it clear that she values her loyal clients and does whatever she can to help them. She is understanding and educated, and she will teach you more about nails than you ever thought you could know! And for those of you that don't read reviews and skip to the bottom, GO TO SEE CORIANA AT BLACK CHERRY NAILS!! YOUR NAILS WILL THANK YOU!!!

I have never left disappointed in the service she provides. Do not let the home salon fool you...she is more sterile than any other nail shop I've been to, which is plenty and some hospitals without losing its wonderful retro charm. She educates and will keep you informed of your nail and health and got my feet looking all smooth for the first time in years. After years of bad chop shop pedi's, Coriana was able to correct the damage done by these shops where well, hygiene is not the first priority. As far as I'm concerned, Black Cherry Nails is where its at. Never again will I ever set one of my perfectly pedicured feet into a local chop shop. My gel nails never looked better too!! Go see her!!

She cut my finger in filing. Surprise charging for nails is so disappointing and really unprofessional. Charging for length and chrome should've been discussed before I even got to the till. I paid for it but the lack of pricing transparency is down right ridiculous. So do not reccommend. Even when I asked why it was this amount but couldn't understand her and she said something about tipping. Tipping is for excellent service not for someone else to decide in pricing. The towels for the hand washing station were old and crusted and some had dried acrylic definitely needs to be thrown out and replaced. I've gotten blinged out sets at downtown minoko nails for the price I paid here. This set was not worth 94.50.

They also have the plexi-glass barriers up. The man who did my nails (I believe he was the owner as he took the calls when the phone would ring, greet customers, etc.) was super friendly and he helped me pick out colours for my nails based off the photo I showed him, he wasn't annoyed or anything (I wanted a different colour for each nail). He did take his time on my nails which I appreciated, I rather someone that takes longer to do nails than rush it and they don't look as good. Overall the place was really clean and the staff there were super friendly and welcoming, the pricing was pretty fair too. I'll definitely be coming back to get my nails filled here!

I happened to be going to Guildford Mall and decided to get my nails done beforehand. Yelp reviewers were right about this place -- clean, nice job, friendly staff, and prices were very comparable to other nail salons! The owner, Lana, was there and was super friendly. I had to wait about 10 minutes (as I did not have an appointment), but I didn't mind as I was not in a rush and it gave me time to look for my nail polish colour. She also offered me some tea or water while waiting, which I declined since I wasn't thirsty at the time. The girl who did my manicure, Noewa, did an excellent job and didn't rush at all. During my manicure, Lana came back to ask if I wanted tea or water this time, and I happily took a cup of tea, which was so nice! Just before my nails were done, I overheard Lana ask Noewa (in a motherly way) if she had taken a break and to get something to eat. If you ask me, that's a nice boss to have, making sure her staff gets the proper treatment! I'm not sure if these 2 ladies were related, but it was still a nice thing for Lana to do. To top it off, they have a stamp/loyalty card, which gives you $5 off after your 5th and 10th visit. This is the only nail salon I've been to that has a stamp card on top of their usual discounts/deals during the week. I will definitely be coming back!!
