The lids are so tight on the jar that I have to break the glass off of the top of the jar to get at the yogurt. I'm a senior. I wish companies would test their products on older adults. Watery to the point of not able to classify as a milk solid. 180d from Greek Yogurt or Skyr. Couldn't even spoon it from the jar. It ... was ... liquid. Unreasonably high cholesterol, unreasonably high sodium. Well, this is what one might expect from a business startup that anticipated the high profits to be made from trendy "Yogurt" styles, but knows little about actually culturing yogurt. Tastes more like a sour cream and water mix. Bulgarian??? I think not. I am by no means a Vegan - Meatloaf and Brisket are my favorite foods. That said White Mountain is one of my favorite local healthy foods! I was first turned onto WM by Jake @ Mambo Berrie who used their super tart yogurt to make his FroYo and quickly became a fan of all their products. Their whole fat Bulgarian Yogurt is a staple in my kitchen "with 90 billion probiotics per serving it is great for supporting digestion and absorption of nutrients" (per website) I use it in recipes as a healthy sub for mayo and Buttermilk salad dressing and mixed with fruit makes for a great frozen pop or pupsicle. And speaking of Pups this amazing yogurt can treat puppy tummy upset better than meds! Dog Mom tip - after my dogs clean their raw femur bones I fill them with yogurt and freeze them for a healthy treat. They also make some amazing Greek Cheese and Tofu products but my very favorite is their Sweet Potato-Pecan Tamales - oh sooo tasty and only 150 calories per tamale! This products stands for it's name! I'm from Bulgaria and I'm big on my yogurt. I've been living in the states for more than 10 years and haven't been eating yogurt, cause nothing on the supermarket shelves tastes they way it should and stand behind the name yoghurt. Few years ago I discovered the organic white mountain Bulgarian youghurt and trust me - it tastes exactly the way my mother makes it. There's nothing better on the market. Few notes on the youghurt - always get the real deal = whole milk. Stop with this raw nonsense - if you live in the countryside and have your own cow - drink from it, but don't expect to have safe raw milk in the supermarkets. I eat almost a quart a day of this amazing yogurt. I buy it by the case and it is as authentic a yogurt as I can find. Some people don't like the tartness of it but for me it is excellent that way and authentic. I recently had surgery and they put me on a low fat diet so the Organic non-fat works perfect for me. I wrote to the company asking if they used cows that were fed Genetically Modified feed - since that would get into the milk they used for yogurt. Though I sent my email twice - I did not receive a reply - which makes me wonder why? In the past, when I contacted them, about HEB seeming to stop carrying their product they wrote back immediately and also contacted HEB. I have been buying this yogurt for my family - two bottles a week - for about a year. I am disappointed they did not reply to my concern about the healthy status of their product. They seem to pride themselves on providing healthy foods and GM feed would not be healthy. I know they do not claim to be organic but I am concerned about the feed. read more

While this site is for reviewing the product, I have to provide a review for the company as a whole. I will start by saying that, Yes I am an employee here, and I love the product. The products we produce has so much more than just ingredients, it has the teamwork, determination, and pride that comes from each of the employees. Never have I worked at another job where I call the people that work there not co-workers but friends. This local family run company has shown kindness, respect, and a willingness to help their employees with anything they need and that's why I am more than happy to make this a career not just a job. I love the yogurt we make, personally my favorite is the Organic Premium Whole Milk yogurt. Being able to pick up a pint of this, throw some honey in the jar and shake it up and have a breakfast that fast is awesome. The tamales are wonderful especially the Chipotle Mushroom, getting some real spice in each bite. While this might seem like a plug from an employee for this company it's not. I truly believe that this company deserves to receive a review from an inside prospective, that can say while the work is hard and demanding, it's all for the sake for the of the customer and providing the best product we can. read more

Eat their yummy food! The yogurt is delicious and easily used in recipes. I eat it at least once almost daily. Their sweet potato tamales are also amazing! I'm not even vegetarian or vegan, but the quality is superior. I do miss their dips and tofu salads though. read more

Born and rased in Bulgaria I have spent many summer breaks with my grandparents in their village.There is no house in Bulgaria without consuming yougurt and their house was no exeption.In other words I know what a real local yougurt and feta cheese taste like. White Mountain's yougurt is good but by no means real!How do I know? Well,I can tell you that a real yougurt cannot be good for a month as the cap is labeled.... It must have got some preservatives. I highly doubt there any Bulgarians involved in the proccess of manufacturing at the company.One example:"Chobani"(Choban means shepard in Turkish) Greek yougurt flooded the US market.It is own by a Turk.... It is like "Taco Cabana is authentic Mexican food" or "Outback,authentic Australian".... Bottom line: The yougurt is good but not real Bulgarian! read more

This yogurt is as close as it gets to the authentic type you can buy in any grocery store in Bulgaria. Thank you White Mountain for making it! The signature tart flavor and high bacteria concentration is not only refreshing, but healthy.
