Then the owner insisted on payment in advance and would not start the upload until the payment was received and cleared. This added a $50 credit card service fee to our bill. Bottom line: We were willing to pay all this extra cost to resolve the total headache the owner gave us for getting this job done. Some years back, I was being hounded by the owner, Nicole, about creating a website. She came out of nowhere and said she was successful at building websites for court reporters. She would contact me about once a week. I was a sole owner of a business without any support staff and crazy busy. Although I was interested in creating a site, she kept pushing relentlessly until she finally had me sign some sort of contract. She claims it contained payment terms, although I can't remember seeing any. Before I knew it, I had been charged $1600 for a website that had not been created, nor was I prepared to embark on the project. When I informed her that I unknowingly discovered the charges, she put some flunkie on my project who offered no help at all and of course Nicole was nowhere to be found. Stay far away from this company. They misrepresent what they do and the attention they will give you, push hard until they get your money, and don't deliver on services. I have since worked with another company whose process was seamless.

The folks at Green Banana asked for our proposed keywords - isn't this a significant component to SEO? Shouldn't the provider of an SEO service be telling me the client what we need to have as keywords? Anyway, after submitting our keywords we were told we would have content posted to our site in 7-10 days. Three MONTHS later and there was still nothing posted. After multiple email messages and telephone calls, the content was posted. Upon review of the content, which was NOT provided to anyone at our company for review or approval prior to posting, it was discovered that every single page of content has misspelled words, inaccurate information, and less than great grammar. This content was live on our website! Further, there was an entire page added to our site that was actually a page from/for one of our competitors in San Jose with all their contact information, etc. The only indication that it had anything whatsoever to do with out organization was a knock out quote in which our company name had been inserted in place of theirs. This error led me to run all of the content through copyscape. Guess what, every page's content failed to pass copyscape! When confronted with all of the above there was denial after denial.
