I like garlic. Thankfully my husband does to. We should get along very well after eating here. If you also like or love garlic try the French bread appetizer. It's garlic balsamic and oil heaven. My souvlaki (lamb kabobs) were so yummy and tender. The were cooked to a perfect medium. The garlic green beans were tender and delicious. They had a nice snap to them. Husband had a gyro which he enjoyed immensely. He'd prefer a little less red onion. He'll ask for less next time. It may have been overload since he asked to sub the Shepherd Salad for the fries. Went here for take out first and then went to dine in. I got the mixed plate, which included some amazing sea bass and my husband got the salmon al foreigner. Both were so good we surprised ourselves by eating almost the entire meal! I would not recommend the baklava (it was too dry, needed more honey) but everything else, from the service to the food to the atmosphere was fantastic- and not overpriced! Another trip to visit family in Spokane means another trip to the Whitehouse Grill just across the border in Post Falls. As per usual the place was packed, couple that with the fact that we were a party of eight, our server Maddy had her hands full. She did a remarkable job of attending to us, keeping our drinks filled and delivering our orders. All with a bright smile and cheery attitude. A huge Kudos to Maddy! Thursdays at the Whitehouse is $2.50 pint night! Yes please and thank you! (Just thought I'd throw that out there!) All eight of us really enjoyed our meals. I had the Lamb Burger. I've been here twice and twice I've had the Lamb Burger. They've changed it a bit. It now boasts a big ol' slab of mozzarella on top of it. Excellent addition! The lemon-garlic mayo is awesome too! Fries or pasta salad are the side dish choices. Maddy offered me 1/2 and 1/2. I rarely eat pasta, but just had to try the Whitehouse version. As with every dish they serve, it was deliciously garlicky! The best pasta salad I've had, ever. We recently visited Post Falls for a few days and on our last night decided to try this place. WOW yummy. We ordered a to go order and the service was fabulous. I ordered a Tera Caesar salad with Lamb added and a side of the potato. It was so delicious. The lamb was melting tender, salad fresh and crisp and the potato were so delicious I want the recipe. My husband had the Buftek" the steak marinated and he loved it. When they say "If you love garlic we love you" on the side of their building they're not kidding. Wife and I just left this place after sitting over an hour+ watching those seated well after us finishing their meals. The server forgot our order (didn't write anything down). When she realized it she said it'll be 4 or 5 minutes, then heard her yelling to the cooks shortly after about how long it would be for two gyro's to come out? 10 minutes later we left $20 for two beers and told her we didn't have any more time to wait. She obviously forgot and lied about it then offered a $20 gift card as we were walking out. They were obviously understaffed with 3 servers for a full restaurant and more people waiting to be seated. In cases like this some honesty would have gone a long way. Love Greek and it's limited here but I'm doubting we'll ever be back after this experience. read more

Just had dinner at the WHG. BEST meal ever. Both my husband & I love lamb & they grilled it to PERFECTION. Our waiter was Hunter and his service was impeccable from recommending beers/wines, to appetizers, to each individual dish. We even indulged in Tiramisu for dessert which we generally never do. Will definitely be coming back to the White House again. It's a 3.5 hour drive for us but I'm already planing my birthday dinner for the White House & will be bringing friends with us. First of all, let me just say that I enjoyed most of the food I had, which was the sea bass special, with asparagus, mushrooms, risotto, and, according to the waitress, love. I love love, so that was cool. It was very good, and came close to being over the top with the garlic, but not quite. YMMV, I love garlic. BTW, the garlic bread that came with it was perfect. We also ordered hummus, no eggplant, and a gyro sandwich. They brought the hummus with eggplant hummus on the plate, too, which was... gross. :) The gyro was unremarkable. The hummus needed some tahini and I think, oil. The pita bread was perfect, though. All in all, thought, it seemed much more italian than mediterranean. I have a pretty big complaint, though. My back was really hurting (it always hurts, but today was really bad), and all of the chairs have hard backs. Ok, so I figure I can stand that, I was hungry. But we were under an AC vent. When she came to the table, she asked if we needed anything and I said a blanket. She suggested whiskey. There are two things wrong with this: 1. I'm a recovering alcoholic, so... yeah, no, please watch what you say 2. Why not suggest to move us? So, I was pissed, and when she came back, I asked her to move us and told her that I'm a recovering alcoholic, and she didn't even apologize. She moved us, we were ok, though the table wasn't very clean. I wont mention who it was, because I don't want to name and shame, I just want them to be a little more mindful. I'd give this place a 3.5 if I could give half stars. Over the years, I have dined at the Whitehouse grill many times. This current visit, I came for lunch: a gyro with pasta salad. The gyro was great. Fresh veggies and great sauce....all fine. Then the famous pasta salad was just bad. It was off....like it gave a kind of effervescent sense on my tongue. I feel like this is a local institution, and rightfully so.....but, don't rest on your laurels. It's been the little details each time that take it from a truly 5 star experience to something less worthy. My server was great and speedy and attentive. So good job there. Just follow the smell of gaahlic to the best Mediterranean restaurant in the INW. Great staff, wonderful bar to enjoy your favorite libation until your table is ready. My favorite is: start with Turkish cigars with feta and onions , then Onion soup, as an entree Lamb kabobs with garlic green beans and rice pilaf! Finish off baklava for dessert. This place is a blast. We had some cool named drinks. Mine was called the Vice President aka dirty martini. I had the mixed grill with sea bass and it was very tender. I didn't taste the garlic so much but I didn't finished my green beans which was covered in it. Our server, John, had great customer service, even talking to us older folk! Sweet mother of pearl, this place is amazing. Every time you drive by, your car fills up with the aroma of garlic. We have always loved the White House. We ordered take-out and it was ready on time and everything was perfect. We ended up taking our meals down to the park by the river and finding a table away from everyone else. We had a great meal, fantastic views and wine ! You cannot have a bad meal here. What it has going for it: - decent location (right off exit 5 on I-90) - servers are nice and attentive - even dishes that you wouldn't think had garlic...has garlic - pricing on par with similar establishments - plenty of parking when not busy - outside eating area - portion size is decent What it has going against it: - when busy, good luck finding parking - could use a renovation So this place is known for using garlic in their dishes, so if you love garlic this is your place. Our 2020 COVID-19 anniversary meal was takeaway Mixed Grill with some extra skewers and bread from White House Grill. We took it to a park nearby along the Spokane and what an awesome meal and great time. Chilean Sea Bass was amazing (recommend) and everything else was great. We may just do this on a future anniversary pandemic or no. We will definitely be back to WHG. read more

We came for the first time for our anniversary, and we couldn't have chosen a better restaurant. Literally every bite of every dish was delicious. The garlic potato soup was amazing, the sarmisak garlic dip with pita was mouth watering, and by the time the souvlaki and bahçe came out I really don't think there's a bad dish in the place because they were fantastic, and there was so much left over that we will have another meal when we get the late night munchies :) Thank you to our waitress who did a perfect job. Overall, this restaurant was just 'meh' in both service and food quality. We didn't get our water refilled much and the servers seemed way too busy to visit our table often. The food wasn't very memorable and some of the appetizers (e.g. the fried cheese) didn't have fresh ingredients. I can make better Greek food at home. I don't see myself returning. read more

I tried this place with my family about a month ago and was ok with the food. My wife and son loved it but I was not to impressed. I wish they would pay a little more attention to the flavor than just the Garlic. Haven't been here in years but was craving some garlic/Mediterranean food. I've been to Greece twice now so I had a better idea of more Greek food. I got the gyro (pronounced, euro) of course with the garlic salad pasta. And my wife got to curried chicken kababobs and the Turkish cigars and the calamari. Calamari was good, breading wasn't falling off like other places and the pepperoncini's and cloves of garlic were an amazing touch. The Turkish cigars were great as well, def a must get but I love philo dough anything. The entrees overall was good. Not mind blowing. I had to add salt to my pasta salad. The gyro was good but not like one from Greece sorry! And the chicken kebabs were actually really tender and moist with good flavor but not super powerful. Overall good and will go back. read more
