What trip to New Jersey is complete without going to The Castle. To my surprise the customer service was excellent and we are in Newark!!! Service was quick. Read the reviews about the taste and what it does to your stomach..... It's a .96 cent fast food slider....what do you expect?! And it does a number on everyone's stomach, it's fast food, that's what happens. Just don't eat it everyday. Only suggestion it to have a covering at the drive thru window. The inside of my car got pretty wet with the heavy rain that day..

This White Castle never closes. Due this White Castle's admittedly-shady location and lack of seating (they only have counter seating, and little of it), I suggest daytime visits. Unless you're a vegetarian, there's no reason you shouldn't come here. You're here for their sliders, and all their self-contained goodness. For the first time, I tried one of the slider variants - the cheeseburger slider - which unfortunately wasn't very good, as the cheese overpowers the meat. Also for the first time, I had their onion rings, which weren't bad at all. Like a Thai hooker, White Castle is cheap yet alluring depending on what you're on. At Newark on a layover? Take a cab to this White Castle, and use that drive-thru!

If this is what White Castle is all about, I never want it again. My trip to this WC was my first ever. Being from the south where there are no WC's, I was looking forward to my visit here. After waiting in line for 20-30 min, I finally got my food. I only ordered a few classic sliders and onion rings but everything was disgusting. For starters, there was no trace of an onion in the onion rings. It was just onion tasting dough. Secondly, the classic burger sliders they're known for taste like a knock-off greasy version of a McDonald's burger. Their burger was so greasy that the bread was hella soggy. I couldn't finish the food and threw it away. I may try a White Castle at a different location but I definitely don't recommend this one.

I happen to be passing by and I had this craving for White Castle burgers. You see I grew up on them. Having a White Castle down the street from my old house. It's been many, many years since I had (aka nickname a rat burger.) I say this with lots of love. My favorite is the original burger no cheese on them, onion rings and an orange soda. For some strange reason I still can't eat a lot of these things. From my 1st bite it brought back so many fond memories.White Castle burgers are very tasty. You see they are steamed with onions, and the buns are on top of the burgers. These burgers are slider size, but pack a big punch especially if you down a lot of them. They are also know for making good fresh coffee. Now I see they sell keurig k-cups. The staff is very friendly. I ate there and found the place to be very clean and neat. If u choose to eat in there is a free parking lot. WC has a drive thru window which is open late. Some WC's are open 24 hours. The menu has changed over the years with many new and interesting items added like a srirache chicken sandwich and Waffle chicken sandwich w/ bacon, and a breakfast menu. It was great sampling the burgers from my childhood. ( I also have a recipe for stuffing made from these burgers.....It's very unique.) I would definitely recommend trying this place at least once.

***I have not been to a White Castle in a long time, but I do not remember them being this bad; the sliders were really greasy and thus kind of disgusting (I personally feel the quality and preparation here is noticeably worse the ones you can prepare yourself from your grocery store's freezer aisle); the crinkle cut fries were not that hot, very limp and translucent from all the grease; this store is located in a rather rundown area of Newark and features two negatives that you might not experience at most other White Castle locations (the restaurant's dining room reeked of cigarette smoke and panhandling occurs inside the restaurant); service was pleasant though I felt like it was hard to communicate with the employees through the thick and potentially needed security glass separating the cashiers/kitchen from guests in the dining area*** Like almost all standalone fast food restaurants, this White Castle has its own free parking lot and it is easy finding an open space.

Food good, location not so great! Service is what it is. I just looked for the nearest location from my hotel.

First time at a WC, I actually enjoy the White Castle burgers you microwave better than the ones in the restaurant.

If you're flying out of EWR early in the morning, you quickly realize there aren't a ton of dining…read moreoptions. That led me to give Shake Shack a try, and I'm glad I did. I'd never had the bacon cheese fries before, and they definitely didn't disappoint. The fries were hot, perfectly crispy, and paired beautifully with the rich, creamy melted cheese and smoky bacon. They were easily the highlight of the meal. The staff was also incredibly friendly, which always makes the experience better when you're traveling. Next time, I'll definitely be back to try one of their burgers alongside another order of those fantastic bacon cheese fries. A great stop if you're looking for a satisfying meal before your flight.

Got hungry while waiting for a flight, so I decided to grab a burger and fries from Shake Shack in…read morethe airport. From past bad experiences with burgers and product quality issues in many different airport restaurants, I normally don't order burgers because they are always cold, dry, tasteless, and downright horrible. But this burger from Shake Shack was surprisingly very good. I ordered from the self-serving kiosk and the wait time for my order was about 5 minutes. The entire restaurant including the counter area, dining area, and even the condiments station was all very clean and inviting. I ordered the Double Shack Burger made with two smashed angus beef patties, American cheese, and topped with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, and Shack Sauce on a toasted potato bun, an order of fries and a 20 oz bottled drink for $24.79. A little step, but of course, all menu items are à la carte, and this is airport dining. The bun was fresh soft, and lightly toasted. The burger patties were nicely smashed, hot, juicy, the cheese melted and all the condiments were fresh, cool, and bright. This burger was prepared with care and assembled beautifully to create the perfect burger. The crinkle cut fries were perfectly cooked, lightly salted, and golden brown. This was by far the BEST airport burger and fries I have ever eaten. Date of Visit: Saturday 05-03-26 Shake Shack | Newark Liberty International Airport | Terminal A
