Travelled to NJ for a concert and this is the nearest Jollibee by our hotel. The staffs were friendly and welcoming. Inside was clean. Food was fresh & hot but they don't have palabok which I'm craving for. I wish they carry more of the menu items like the other locations have. Same fantastic fried chicken as any other Jollibee! I'll say it here and I'll say it again, it's the BEST FRIED CHICKEN anywhere. As a Popeyes lover, it's hard to put any other fried chicken against it, but, IMO, Jollibee is a slight notch above it. Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion and I completely understand Popeyes or KFC lovers sticking with their guns on this debate. Basically, you can't go wrong with any of them, but you know where I stand on Jollibee. As for this location, it's relatively new as of June 2025 and only opened a few months prior across the street from the University Hospital. Honestly, it seems like a bit of an interesting area to open up because it's not the nicest surrounding area in Newark, but when we dined in on an early June Saturday evening, there was a very steady stream of customers taking out. Also, I assume it's wildly popular amongst the hospital staff (with a lot of the nursing community being of Filipino descent) and hospital visitors. Speaking of the crowd that patronizes this Jollibee, I do have to admit it didn't feel like the safest Jollibee to be in, but we still dined in relatively comfortably because most of the customers were just taking out. However, there were DEFINITELY some sketchy folks coming in and out, so my "dad-lookout" antennas were sky up and running. The service was a tad slow though and it look a while to get anything, like extra plates or condiments, but they were friendly. Oddly, the floor was supppper duper slippery inside and I'm not sure if it's like that all of the time, but beware. Also, since it was a hot, summer day, the A/C was on, but it was strangely somehow associated with the door opening, so every time the doors opened, the A/C would turn on, then would immediately turn off. I ordered the Original Chicken Sandwich and I liked it. The crust was solid and a good color and it had adequate crunch. The meat itself was tender and juicy. The seasoning was fine - more like they season with it in a neutral way so that the customer can adjust the flavoring to what suits them. The service was good. The chicken patty came out hot, so it may have been made to order or I came at a time they were dropping a new batch for sale. Either way, it was good and the wait was not long at all. The site itself is clean and the doors do this nifty trick where the fans activate upon entering and exiting the premises vi the door. It was a much appreciated surprise after coming out from the hot sunlight. If I'm in the area again and I'm hungry, I'm fine with stopping here for a sandwich. On a road trip, this was the nearest Jollibee I could find. I placed an order online and was so disappointed that they had no palabok or burger steak. So I ordered the chicken instead and an aloha burger for my BF. It was so busy when I got there and had to wait an extra 20 minutes for the order. It was short of chaotic; the staff were inundated with orders, and customers kept coming in. They never updated the tracking of the order to notify customers it's ready. So my order sat at the counter for an extra 10 minutes until I had to ask the staff I've been waiting for a while. Jollibee is quite consistent when it comes to their food. But I would avoid this location at all costs. They also have security at the door, so that pretty much tells you everything you need to know about neighborhood safety. Absolutely the best fried chicken chain now. Better than Popeyes, KFC, etc. Had the Jollibee at American dream for the first time and this new location is great because it's not too far from Prudential center. About ten mins in and they had an armed security guard which made it feel more safe. Food? Outstanding. The chicken is super juicy and flavorful. The spaghetti is a great side and I love the gravy they give with the chicken. Overall, great spot for chicken and not too crazy expensive in my opinion. We traveled to New Jersey for the Thanksgiving holiday It was my first time to New Jersey and my first time to a Jollibee and it definitely will not be my last! I had been aching to eat at a Jollibee for years but there are no restaurants in my state or any state near me so I was very excited to give them a try. I was greeted with a smile and when I told the girl at the register it was my first time to a Jollibee she was overjoyed and told me about each side I was thinking about picking. The chicken was cooked to perfection. The chicken was crispy and juicy and it was seasoned perfectly. They give you brown gravy for dipping but you don't need it. From what I'm told brown gravy as a dipping sauce is a staple in Filipino culture. I ordered the adobo rice and spaghetti for my side dishes. The rice was great the spaghetti will have to grow on me. The sauce was different and it had slices of hot dogs or some type of sausage in it. It wasn't offensive, it was just different. I restaurant was very clean and the walls held stories and photos of how Jolly Bee started and had plaques with awards the restaurant had won. The food far exceeded my expectations. So I really hate to give bad reviews especially at Jollibee's because we like the food, but the tables and soda fountain machine looks like they were wiped down with dirty rags the floors looked looked like it hadn't been mopped in days black spill marks on the floor! No indication it was a Women's restroom and men were walking into an unmarked k d women's bathroom my wife screamed when I guy walked in on her! I'm really not into drinking Pepsi products Wish they would carry Diet Dr Pepper or Dr Pepper Zero. This place is dismal. Granted- it's Newark. But, service is sad. The soda machine was busted. Tables are dirty. Garbage at the self service soda counter. This place is a no for me. Jollibee is finally open in Newark! Being right across from a major hospital, Jollibee will continue to serve it's Filipino goodness to the community. I went in today, and of course it was very busy. The location is not as big as it's Jersey City location; similar to that of Edison. The menu is also not at it's full capacity; staples like the Fiesta Noodles, Ube Pies, and Burger Steaks were missing, but I spoke to management about this and it will be placed on the menu soon. Good to hear! I ordered the 1 piece spicy chicken with spaghetti and a pineapple refresher. Chicken is always crispy and juicy, spaghetti had the right amount of sweetness, and the drink was super tasty. Customer service at Jollibee never fails. Tons of parking out front and their drive thru is also available. If you're in the area, definitely try Jollibee! read more

The crew which of color, does not do their job well. One ex. Is that when Floor is way too slippery when mopped and the security guy even called the guy to do it well but did not listen, speaking of security , you would feel secure dining here as they have security guards on duty. It was pretty good but not something I need again. I've been watching to try this for a long time but one of the main reasons I would not eat it a lot is because too many calories for me. Extremely Disappointed - This Location Needs Serious Attention I've given this place five chances since it opened, and I can confidently say the service is consistently terrible. Every time, I've waited 30-45 minutes for food, with no communication or sense of urgency from the staff. It's like they just don't care. To make things worse, the drive-thru is often closed with no signage or heads-up. When it is open, the service inside is still chaotic and slow. The restaurant is unsanitary, and the environment is uncomfortable. There are always people loitering--some homeless, some clearly under the influence--and there's no management presence to address it. It feels unsafe and unprofessional. What's frustrating is that I've been to the American Dream Mall location in NJ, and the experience there is night and day--fast, clean, and friendly. The only highlights at this location are two employees: * Jay, a Spanish girl who showed urgency and professionalism inside the store. * Vanessa, who took my order twice at the drive-thru and gave excellent service both times. They are the only reasons I even gave this location more than one chance--but two good employees can't fix an entire operation that's failing. This location needs serious management intervention. after many months of construction jollibee is finally open! came opening day where they were filled with people (even extra people to take your order on tablets since the drive thru and counters were busy). they were doing give-aways but unfortunately i didn't "make it"- apparently the first 50 orders that met the $25 limit in person and drive thru would get a free item, my receipt said i was #20 but they said that the first 100 people were already met. sus. but whatever. i got the 3 piece with the mash potato side and pineapple drink. $15 felt a bit steep but it did fill me up (i do miss the KFC that was here where it was only $5 for the same amount). REGARDLESS. the chicken and gravy pairing is to die for and the mashed potato is my favorite side. the pineapple drink though was very sweet (reminds me of the juice from dole pineapple) - most likely won't get it again . if it was sparkling, that would be a different story but i feel like it didnt pair well with the chicken. regardless ,ill be back! definitely want to try out the spaghetti! read more

I believe this location just opened. I ordered the bucket of chicken which came with a container of gravy. I shared this with the group. The chicken was crispy but it was on the salty side. I was expecting better. I don't think I'll be back. KFC and Popey's are better. Objective quality control and then make the change please! read more

It is expensive. They didn't have regular chicken at 1 pm on a Sunday afternoon...they only had spicy. I do ok with a little spice and asked the girl if the chicken was really spice. She said it had a little kick and not too spicy. Also, they didnt have the peach pie only the ube pie. She said the ube pie was really good. I drove off and started to eat the chicken and it was really spicy hot and the ube pie was not good and I had to throw it away. The chicken was so spicy it left my mouth feeling a bit raw...it was too painful to even eat the sweet spaghetti. The fries were ehh. I was really not happy that I waisted $19 on fast food!!
