    Bag of 10 cheese sliders.
    Dan T.

I was on a business trip in the Hopkins MN area. Being from the Des Moines IA metro the closest WC is hours away. After my time in the military and being stationed in the South and on both coasts WC (or Krystal's) is my guilty pleasure. Lobby hours had been cut back to 500 pm so I hit the drive through for a bag of 10 cheese sliders... I could tell by the smell in the car something wasn't quite right. I'm not sure how to verbalize it other than something was "off". WC's is kind of like sex... None of its bad. Just some is better than others. Except for prison sex. Prison sex is mostly bad...at least that's my guess. Lol Five of my sliders were fresh and good. Five had been sitting under a warmer or something and were various degrees of dried out. I get it. They're cheap. You're probably short staffed. We're lucky you're still open. But c'mon! Steaming those burgers can't take that long. Next time give me a heads up and I'll wait for fresh sliders. Still enjoyed them, but fresh would have gotten you five stars...

    Worms!! I seen them MOVING

please stay away!! I threw up twice and there were WORMS in my throw up!!! very disgustin!! I've never seen nothing like this, and I was VERY sick!!!

This team has been working through thick and thin through Covid and continues to deliver. White Castle has been a generational family-favorite for decades. This team really represents the chain well. Always friendly and get things right through both the drive through and over the counter. My motorcycle broke down today a half mile away. I walked down the highway and got a Number 1 Combo (my go to) and had a side of the road picnic while waiting for the tow. Thanks team White Castle Hopkins for making my day a little better :)

Actually pleasantly surprised with the menu. The ambiance needs an upgrade or a through cleaning AND patrons needs to be cleaner too IMHO. I saw a guy drop something and left it there as trash on the floor :( but service was quick food was good with excellent value. Parking is easy. I'll start going to try a few more things. I had their crabcakes sliders and they were excellent.

I hear White Castle, I think of finding Harold & Kumar. I saw that movie ages ago, but have never made it out to the fast food chain, as I never really saw the need to experience this classy joint... until last week. Apparently, for the past 20 years, White Castle has gone all out for Valentine's Day. I heard about it through one of my co-workers who has gone yearly with his wife (and now children and grandparents) for the past handful of years; he loves the novelty of it, as well as being able to treat his family to a fun event for cheap. Since I already dine out at fancy restaurants pretty often, I felt that a typical restaurant reservation for this year's Vday was simply too... mundane. So, for this year, we decided to spice it up! First off, in all seriousness, and in no laughing matter, you HAVE to make a reservation. Chad and I made our reservation two weeks earlier and got the very last table - a table for 2 at 8pm at the Hopkin's location. Serious. Next, dress code: anything goes. I was in business casual as I went from work, but there were folks in sweat pants as well as dresses! We pull up and first thing you notice is that it's dark inside - yup, mood lighting. The drive-through is closed and the restaurant is only open to those with reservations. One day only, White Castle has waitstaff. They have a make shift hostess stand by throwing a heart-decked table cloth over a huge trash can. You're taken to your candle-lite, table-clothed table where there's a special Valentine's Day menu, candies on the table, carnation in plastic vases center pieces and red helium mylar heart-shaped balloons! You're asked for your drink order (soft drinks, ice tea, chocolate shake, milk, or coffee) and then you decide what to get. As this was our first time there, we pretty much tried every item: a white castle hamburger (.65), Jalapeno cheeseburger (1.58), Bacon cheeseburger (1.09), A1 Slyder (1.59), Fish w/Cheese (1.29), Pulled pork slider (.99), and chicken ring w/cheese (1.29). For sides, we also tried the fish nibbler (2.79 small, 6.99 sack), onion chips (1.99 or 3.19), and cheese sticks (1.99-4.99). My favorite side were the onion chips - essentially like onion rings, but less onion and more fried goodness. Favorite sandwich was a toss-up between the bacon or jalapeno. We weren't sure how big these were, so we only got a few at first.. then tried a few more. In the end, our bill came to $18 and we were stuffed. It was definitely the most classy, romantic dinner ever... HAH. Completely out of my style, but very novel, and very much fun. Chad and I probably will not be doing this again next year, but it is definitely a must-do at some point. As we had the last call-times, we were able to take home some of the decorations - so kudos for the free carnations and helium balloons. =D

There were multiple types of tables and seats to choose from. We chose to order on the tablet rather than wait in line to order. The experience using Toast on the tablet was smooth. We got our order numbers and it was easy to keep an eye on the screen to see when the orders would be ready. We also received text notifications. This all happened very quickly! One thing we noticed was that when they called out order numbers, it was fairly loud for the amount of people there at the time. The burger (wagyu brisket jalapeño) and hot honey crispy chicken sandwich that we got were both delicious and just as expected! I loved the shoestring fries since that's my favorite kind of fry. I also thought the fry sauce was the best balance of sweet and tangy. We ordered dessert at the table using the provided QR code and again were able to track when our orders would be ready on the screen. The regular shake and small soft serve cup were the same size - the pictures made it seem like the shake would be bigger but that didn't bother us, just worth noting. I loved the fudge and Oreo crumble on the soft serve! Overall just a solid spot to hangout and have a good burger, fries, and dessert! I'll definitely be back.

I also like the layout, where you can order at one window, pickup at another (there is a board where you can keep track and even see how many minutes until your order is ready!), and yet another window for pop refills and dessert orders. Very well thought out. I thought the hamburger was very high quality: juicy, tasty, and a good char flavor. The fries were good too: shoestring, but well cooked: not greasy and not overcooked, which is easy to do with thin fries. The portion is huge and seems like it is made to split with another person, or even two. I did also get their soft serve ice cream and that was yummy too. A few quibbles: It's tricky to get to because you can SEE it off of Highway 7, but its off a frontage road. I recommend using a GPS the first time you go there, so you don't keep waiving to it from Highway 7. The second quibble is this: Why do they ask for a tip when it's self-service at the counter window (or even at a self-service kiosk, or online, you pick up the order from the window and you bus your own table. Exactly who is the tip for because there is no waitstaff? If it's for the people who cook the food, isn't that by definition what they are paid for? This tip thing in the US is way out of whack. Also, there is an upcharge if you use a credit card which is actually a third quibble. Those three quibbles equal a subtraction of one star.

There is plenty of street and private lot parking both in their attached small lot but also numerous spaces in the larger lot across the street. I would just use caution crossing the street as it is an uncontrolled intersection and crosswalk to get to it and it is a road that tends to invite speeding and a lack of attention looking for pedestrians. There is a full bar with several house inspired cocktails as well as a moderately large beer list available by UPC. The menu has good variety of items that lean towards churched up comfort pub food. Think Salads, Brisket Grilled Cheese and Broasted Chicken and you will be in the sweet spot genre. The chicken is outstanding! On Wednesday nights, they have Bingo with Chicken on special which was a surprise discovery for me. The gaming was really fun and the meal was awesome and cheaper than expected. That is a win-win in my book! The Block is definitely a solid spot for a casual tavern sort of pick with food and drink that is good and in some cases, borders on great (such as the chicken)! It is a really nice addition to the local dining scene in this area that does not have a lot of good, unique eateries. I recommend giving it a try and, like me, I think you will be back again and again.

The tots were stuffed with bacon, cheddar cheese and chive, and served with aioli. I had the Traditional Bone-in Wings ($16.50) with two sauces - sweet chili, and sticky garlic gochujang. Although both were flavorful, my personal preference was for the sweet chili. All of the wings were juicy and cooked well. I also upgraded to a very large portion of beer battered fries, which were shoe-strong fries. They were cooked well - not greasy or overcooked and very tasty. Overall, it was a very enjoyable meal.
