Disgusting "burger".
Rick L.

Had to try the famous White Castle while traveling in the east. Trust me, I wasn't expecting much. One word....disgusting! I can't see how this place has been around all of these years. And people continue to come here. It makes McDonalds look like a fine burger establishment. I was shocked at how small the burger patty actually was. It was like a single piece of lunch meat. And the cheese onion rings were terrible.

Soggy. Yuck.

A jury would convict the Beastie Boys of drug use, based on their line "I like White Castle, 'cuz it's the best". What The Hell? My first visit ranks among the top 10 disappointments of my life. That nasty, soggy, holes-punched-in-the-patty-to-cut-costs "burger" is officially the worst I've ever had.

The only thing moist here is my mustard!

I got "The Crave." Usually I satisfy this by buying the frozen ones and then steaming them but I haven't seen them at the grocery for awhile. So I ordered from Door Dash and they chose the Brownsburg store to send to Danville. In order to get $12 of food and avoid fees, I ordered a 1921 slider, 4 doubles and a sack of onion chips. Well, the food temperature is what one expects being delivered from several miles. The quality of all the sliders was POOR! They had obviously ALL been sitting on the grill until they were dry and nasty. They should NOT have been served in the first place. The onion chips had been fresh and a quick blast in the air fryer brought them back. I saved 3 of the sliders in a ziplock bag and will steam them tomorrow for lunch. FYI - don't nuke the frozen sliders from the grocery. Use a steamer basket and line with parchment paper sprayed with a little cooking oil. Put the sliders in top bun side down, cover, then steam them for about 10 minutes. These come out steamy and just like the first served off the grill.

Westbound and down across western Indiana on Interstate 74 (I-74) west this afternoon - I'd missed breakfast due to some unforeseen delays - and now it was past lunch time - I knew I'd be pulling into some small, forsaken burg for lunch at some point. Then I saw it - the Interstate signs that depict which food joints are at the next exit - all of the usual fast food suspects were listed - but also - White Castle!! I knew that I must visit the Castle! I exited I-74 into a small town named "Brownsburg." It was just after 3:00 pm when I walked in - a couple of other folks were in line in front of me. I ordered one double bacon cheeseburger, one double jalapeno burger, and one fish w/ cheese and an order of Onion chips, and a caffeine-free Diet Coke. When I got my food, I was a little disappointed, the sandwiches - all three of them were lukewarm - like they had been sitting out. I was expecting something hotter and fresher tasting. The Onion chips were fresh and hot - and nice and crisp. The Coke was icy and refreshing. Somewhat disappointing given that I don't get to experience White Castle that often - when I do - I want it to be a phenomenal fast food experience!

Only fast food in Brownsburg to NEVER mess up my order. Food is solid, people are nice, sometimes a wait but always fresh and good.

However, I've been making regular visits out to my family in Putnam County and this has allowed me to drive by the Avon location of Raising Cane's. Today, I finally got a chance to check it out. Raising Cane's is a growing chain that specializes in chicken fingers (or tenders). That's it. That's their gig. When founder Todd Graves proposed the idea in a business class, he received one of the lowest grades because his professor said it wouldn't work. Graves persevered. Named after his labrador (literally named Raising Cane), this chain is growing with three Central Indiana locations currently (Avon, Carmel, Noblesville). As noted, Raising Cane's is based around chicken tenders/fingers in a handful of different combos. They have multiple sides, serve Coke products, and have both sweet and unsweetened iced tea. They have a two-sided drive-thru, though only one side was open at my time of arrival. You can dine inside, however, on this visit I did not. I could tell the curb cuts were appropriate, however, I won't speak to accessibility on the inside. The employees I met were friendly and helpful. I was able to upsize my drink, always a plus, and my order was accurate. I tend to prefer barbecue sauce with my tenders, however, I opted to try their Raising Cane sauce. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Raising Cane's is community minded with six areas of focus - education, feeding the hungry, active lifestyles, pet welfare, entrepreneurship, and "other" (meaning they enjoy supporting community organizations and will consider "other" ideas). While I'm not quite ready to go 5 stars here, I enjoyed the tenders quite a bit and I enjoyed the small order of crinkle-cut fries. The food quality was good and the quantity was a solid meal. Employees were great, the drive-thru went pretty darn quickly, and I have no issues with calling this a solid 4-star experience. I'll definitely be back.

I got chicken tenders and fries and a soda. The chicken was great and the sauce was YUMMY. The line moved fairly quickly and the man helping us out was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely visit again sometime.

I highly recommend the chicken egg and cheese sandwich. The fries are phenomenal as well as their Ghirardelli shake. A nice upgrade from fast food. Jaggers is a giant step up from a fast food lunch…read more Jaggers features unique menu items like the Sunrise Burger, which is topped with a fried egg. The black bean burger is delicious, and you can customize the toppings and cheese on any burger or chicken sandwich. Sides include edamame, tater tots, fries, fruit, and a side salad. The sauces, like the salad dressing, are made fresh in house. Sauces include country gravy, buffalo, sweet heat, ranch, and honey mustard. I always order a sauce or two for dipping g my tater tots or fries. The salads are much better than the usual fast food or fast casual restaurant. Always fresh ingredients and the dressing is made daily, in house. Several varieties of salad and they are all excellent. Shakes are excellent! Very thick so you will need the extra large straw. The employees are very friendly and service is fast. The dining room is always clean and the booths are solid and comfortable.
