Nice cool vibe and the menu had happy hour specials. We had the Baja style fish tacos $14 which was battered and fried fish and slaw. The fish was nicely done. The shrimp Louie $22.50 had nice amount of bay shrimp, egg and avocado. The chicken Milanese sandwich $16 was a bit disappointing though. The battered chicken fingers were a bit dry and the pieces were on the small size, as was the fried chicken fingers $12. The deviled eggs $8.50 was creamy. Could've done without the pickled jalapeño-made it bit bitter. We all loved the griddled sourdough $5 ! I'd come back to check out more of the small bites menu.

We walked in and liked the spot immediately it gave the both of us like a very Oceanside spot, not entirely sure on how to describe it to be honest. Our waitress was super friendly and great in serving us throughout our meal. Both of our favorite things that we ate was actually their $5 happy hour fish tacos. We were so surprised and loved the fact we ate that last. The only thing I was taken aback was that the oysters were not chucked entirely properly and there was one that was pretty bad that I couldn't order more oysters like I wanted to, I think it wasn't as fresh. If I could give a 3.5 I would because of that bad oyster I ate. But overall good spot! And I would highly recommend the fish tacos!

The Tom Yum Wings had great flavor and the Mac and Cheese was so creamy. I would definitely come back to try the Tom Yum Mac and Cheese and more of the cocktails! We sat upstairs, and it was a little warm, but the atmosphere made up for it. There are TVs around if you want to catch the game, and plenty of plants everywhere, which gives it a little jungle feel in the middle of the city. I started with the Cocopina margarita, which tasted like a piña colada and was delicious. Easy to drink, so be careful. We shared the garlic and herb fries, the sausage pizza with confit garlic, mozzarella, arugula, and pecorino, the calamari, and the roasted cauliflower. The pizza was my favorite, with great flavor in every bite. The fries and calamari were solid too. The roasted cauliflower was the letdown for me. It didn't taste like much on its own, but it also had a lot of different spices going on, and the combination just wasn't for me. Service was fine. Nothing to complain about, and nothing that stood out either. Good drinks, a few standout dishes, and a fun space. I'd come back for the pizza and another margarita.

We started off with the beet salad and warm focaccia with olive oil, garlic, and balsamic vinegar. The combination of hot bread with sweet, cool beets was a perfect contrast. The beets were perfectly cooked and came with crunchy, candied pecans over a light bed of whipped ricotta. I could not get enough, especially of the candied pecans. The focaccia was perfectly cooked and super light and fluffy. You can tell that the olive oil and balsamic vinegar are of the highest quality and the dip paired so well with the bread. For our mains, my husband got the rigatoni while I got the gnocchi carbonara (at the waiter's suggestion). Both of us were extremely happy with our choices. I'm used to getting gnocchi dishes that are super dense and doughy but in this dish, it was melting in your mouth. The infusion of the duck flavors really came through in the sauce and you had crispy meat sprinkled on top as well to give a contrasting texture to the rest of the dish. The rigatoni came with a couple of meatballs and sausages that you can tell are freshly made in house as they were tender and flavorful. The marinara sauce had a hint of sweetness with the tartness of the tomato sauce to balance it out. The pasta might have been a hair undercooked but it didn't make the dish any less delicious. For dessert, we ended with a chocolate tiramisu - a bed of moist, chocolate cake with a layer of coffee cream and cream on top, it was a delicious twist on the classic dish. We both agreed that we can't wait for our next visit back to Ofena!

(There's a outdoor pirate themed play area across the street which my kids enjoyed before dinner). The inside is modern but sparse, with three cozy dining dining rooms with a lovely full bar in the center room. Service was wonderful and the manager warmly greeted us with champagne for having happened to be there on their 2 year anniversary. It's not often these days that I find everything on the menu intriguing but we definitely had trouble deciding on what to pick from. What I ended up loving the most were the "sides" which were main dishes in and of themselves in terms of how much flavor was packed into them! For example, the Gigante Beans were so delicious that we tried to replicate them at home the following week. I loved how colorful and tasty the Squash Cabonata side was. Also loved the Pea and Asparagus salad which was beautifully plated, well-textured dish-- I liked that they were small bite sized cuts of crispy asparagus, and sprinkled with some pea shoots. The Gnocchi Carbonara, Saffron Risotto dish, and the polenta side were all very tasty, but I think it was an error to order all three since they were all a bit creamy/heavy. Overall a wonderful spot for dinner!
