My first time here and my first time having a steak cooked using the salt block method. I'm a ribeye girl, and because this cut only came in a 20oz cut, I was in for quite the surprise... prayerfully for the good. I trusted the waitress' recommendation to order my steak at least two temperature degrees less than how I would normally order it to allow for contd cooking that would take place on the 600 degree salt block cooking method on my table before my eyes. I trusted the explained process and boy was I glad. My steak was perfect! I don't eat steak that is still obviously red (only medium well) so having the steak come out at this lower than accustomed temperature was the experience that included using provided tongs to turn your steak and position it for desired cooking temperature (visually). (The steak is brought out already cut in strips for the contd cooking process. ) Don't miss out on this experience of having the BEST steak ever! This trip was supposed to celebrate my husband's birthday and allow us to spend time with local friends in Jackson. Instead, it became a case study in operational dysfunction, disengaged staff and astonishingly poor judgment. The rooms are very poorly soundproofed. Every movement from the room above us sounded like a large farm animal pacing overhead. Sleep was consistently interrupted. The design choices throughout the suite also prioritized appearance over practicality. The shower, for example, is designed in such a way that you effectively have to step inside before turning the water on unless you want to soak your sleeve trying to reach the controls. The TV remote also controlled televisions in different rooms, meaning turning one on activated them both... Service issues were constant: * Breakfast was not set up on time despite supposedly beginning at 7 a.m. At 7:30 one morning, food remained locked away, nobody was at the front desk and the only available coffee was left over from the previous day. * The gym bathroom went three consecutive days without hand towels. * We had to ask for housekeeping three separate times despite submitting requests both digitally and directly with staff. When we followed up, staff were clearly annoyed that we interrupted their TikToks or whatever. * The QR code for room service did not work, which ended up feeling fairly symbolic of the broader experience: lots of branding around convenience and modernity, very little actual operational follow-through. The most disappointing part, however, was the staff attitude. One front desk employee, Abby, responded to basic guest requests with visible irritation and complete indifference. The defining moment came after I became violently ill during the stay and my husband attempted to cancel a massage appointment for me. Rather than responding with basic common sense or concern for either me or the massage therapist who would have been exposed to someone actively sick, the focus became rigid enforcement of a cancellation fee. To be clear: I understand cancellation policies exist. But context matters. When guests are already dealing with repeated service failures across the property, digging in aggressively over a couple hundred dollars while someone is actively vomiting simply comes across as deeply tone-deaf. With that said, the determination and self-importance with which Abby clung to this cancellation fee was genuinely impressive. One got the distinct impression that opportunities to exert control over another person's day may not arise especially often, and she seemed intent on making the absolute most of this one. There was something oddly performative about her demeanor -- as though enforcing a comparatively trivial fee against a sick guest allowed her, briefly, to experience herself as the immovable guardian of hotel policy rather than a low-paid front desk employee at an ailing boutique property. It was a staggering amount of self-seriousness attached to a couple hundred dollars, particularly given the number of much larger operational failures unfolding throughout the hotel at the exact same time. Anyway, I emailed the operations manager, Bryan, twice regarding our overall experience at the hotel and received no response whatsoever. Seems the culture starts at the top! Ironically, Booking.com ultimately refunded me $360+ anyway after I escalated the situation, which suggests they demonstrated more practical judgment and customer awareness than the hotel itself. I travel extensively throughout the world and stay in hotels constantly. This was easily one of the most underwhelming and poorly managed "luxury" hotel experiences I have had in recent memory. White Buffalo Club seems far more interested in projecting an image of luxury than actually delivering one. Avoid. read more

Rock solid happy hour. It's going from 5-6 and limited to 8 seats exclusively downstairs at the bar. My wingman and I decided to brave the cold and explore the man drag while the sun was still up. The MC Bruce was very personable and the service provided by Nellow was expert and courteous. The deal here is a double cheeseburger, handcuffed fries (or sub for a salad) and a domestic beer or soda. Price? $20 out the door. We went for the local cold snack brew and it was a perfect pairing to the burger. Great portions, great grilled onions and melted white cheddar cheese with - perfectly toasted - brioche buns. I'm sorry but that was the worst hotel stay we've ever experienced. Not only were amenities they listed online as open (restaurant and bar) closed, but when we asked the staff if they could recommend somewhere she barely glanced up from her scrolling with a leg propped up on the desk no less to tell us she couldn't think of anywhere that was open. There was a lot open and it would've helped to get some pointers considering amenities we booked for weren't available. Front staff on their phones remained a theme, though we did encounter better staff through our stay. The first two mornings the alleyway next to our room had trucks unloading at 6am with one driver dragging his metal ramp down the alleyway to the next hotel. Finally the beds are rock hard and the pillows much the same. Not a deal breaker if the other issues above were addressed. Also we asked twice to speak to management. Day one we were told"he" would be in the next day and approximate hours we could see him. The next we gave our number because we never saw "him". And we were never called. Sorry but for similar pricing there's much better in town. Good news is despite the terrible lodging and lack of response from staff we loved Jackson. So mini honeymoon not completely ruined. Stay anywhere else in Jackson. Proximity to town was nice but that's it. Jackson itself is dreamy and everything you could imagine it to be! Go visit just not here! read more

The hotel is very centrally located just a short walk from the town square, which was great to be able to walk everywhere in town. We had a very spacious corner fireplace room in the main building on the second floor. It had a terrace but it was pretty much an indoor terrace, obviously designed for the cold weather temperatures. However, in the summer it felt a little claustrophobic and we didn't use it much and of course didn't use the fireplace itself. Still, they were nice touches. Here's what was not: the bathroom was the most poorly designed I have ever seen. The counter space from the edge to the sink was probably a foot long whereas most are a few inches. Therefore, I could not see in the mirror to put in my contact lenses-- or even comfortably lean over the sink to rinse them off, brush my teeth, wash my face - you know the drill. As in pretty much every other hotel I've ever stayed in there was no side mirror or pullout magnifying and regular mirror. There was also no bar soap. There were attached liquid soap and lotion containers on the wall which you couldn't reach easily from the sink. And if you were in the bathtub, you would have to stand up and squirt some in your hand. How uncomfortable - and how stupid. Upon asking for a mirror and bar soap we were greeted with an argument by the front desk person Arizona. I said that it was untenable for me to use the bathroom without being able to put in my contact lenses comfortably and that I wanted a mirror brought to the room. Again this became a hostile argument and she finally said to call her manager, Bryan Bridges. This was the morning after we checked in and I said I wanted this in the room by the time we returned at about 2pm. For $500+ a night I expect some bar soap like pretty much every hotel has as well as a makeup mirror which pretty much every hotel has - not an argument about it. However, he apparently realized this was a serious matter and a stand mirror and some bar soap were provided. Hooray! We were only there for three nights so did not really need housekeeping as plenty of towels were supplied in the bathroom. Plus, I don't like cleaning people going through all my toiletries and putting them in different places so that was fine although I noticed other guests have complained about this, there is a sign saying that if you want housekeeping to arrange it with the front desk. So I never did. I wanted to warn other guests about their airport transportation situation. If they arrange it for you it is through a company called Airport Taxi which charges $55 plus a mandatory 20% tip. I asked how long the drive from the airport was and was told about 15 minutes. Hello? Really not up for paying close to $70 for a 15 minute ride so upon arrival at.JAC an Uber was there promptly and the fare was $28 (plus tip). Quite a difference - I'd say about half the cost. Airport Taxi also charged a $55 fare to go from the town of Jackson to Teton Village. Plus of course that mandatory 20% tip. Whereas Uber again was about 28 or $30. read more

We had a wonderful time at the white buffalo club. We stayed in a miller park room and it was very clean with everything we would possibly need in the room. Heather and Savannah at the front desk were helpful and pleasant and the housekeeping crew always greeted us with a smile. The location was perfect for lots of restaurants in the square- all walking distance but we did also enjoy having parking at the hotel. In the morning it was very nice to grab a muffin or bagel before we headed to Grand Teton. It was a wonderful trip! read more

This is a really awesome place to stay in Jackson. The staff is so warm and welcoming. It is very cozy and really very comfortable. They have fruit filled water in the lobby throughout the day and coffee in the morning. They have a restaurant on property and Spa and also an extensive gym. We stayed on the third floor which is the top floor and had great views of the mountains and some fancy Townhomes across the street. I do wish the blinds would open all the way. The picture I showed is as far as the blinds open. So you can never get a full view which is kind of annoying. Also, the faucet in the bathroom was loose. One handle was kind of loose. We could have said something but it wasn't a big deal just a bit annoying. There was a washer and dryer in the room which we did not use but it is nice to know it was there. The room has a very long hallway after you walk in to get to the actual room. I don't think I took a picture but it feels like a lot of wasted space. Overall, the room was great. The Heat and the air worked seamlessly and quickly. There are only maybe 20 rooms are so at this hotel. It feels like you are staying at someone's house. I would recommend staying here if you are in the area. read more

This is a condo complex in central "downtown" Jackson Hole. We rented a 2 bedroom condo. This is a strangely arranged condo. There are two bedrooms, one of which has a bathroom with tub, the other has two adjoining bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a tub. There is a large, but awkward, horseshoe shaped kitchen that looks like a bar, but the unit has no living room or common area! There are four flat screen TV's in the unit! There is no hot tub in the condo complex which is unexpected for a major ski resort. We were told in advance they do not serve breakfast, but they actually do have muffins, coffee, juice and buns available every morning, but after the morning hour they lock up the small refrigerators containing the cold items which seems really bush if you want something later in the day. The above mentioned kitchen is really under supplied. When we arrived there was no salt or pepper and only one knife for cutting things other than the usual utensils. There also was no soap for the dishwasher. All but an extra knife was supplied when asked. The young staff is very nice and tries to help. You must reserve in advance a ride to the ski resort on their condo supplied transportation. Their vehicle is not big enough for everyone at the condo who wants a ride, reserve right away. Downstairs in the basement is a very good steakhouse serving prime beef. I heartily recommend it. That gets 5 stars. read more

My daughter and her husband have stayed here several times and love the steakhouse downstairs, including the salt block which cooks your steak. But back to the hotel. We had an issue with our room. We talked to Sean(manager at the time) and he came to our room and discussed the situation. He said he would get back to us. He did just that. When we came back to the hotel from being out skiing he had arranged for us to move to another room. It was quite an upgrade(for no increase in rate). Savannah who was serving guests at the front desk, was super sweet and nice, taking time to walk us over to the new room and ask, "Would this be acceptable to you?" I was with my three older kids and we each had our own room. There was a kitchen and piano and movie room. We stayed there for the rest of our stay. I just want to say that Sean went back after our initial discussion and rather than just put us off, he went to work to make sure our stay was the way it should be. Savannah was super nice in taking the time necessary to make sure we were happy. I would say the White Buffalo Club has a fine team in the two of them. We left the hotel after our trip looking back and saying how nice it was, confirming my daughters decision to stay there. On top of this, the shuttle driver Brendan was super nice and a slow smooth driver making sure all the guests skis did not fall on each other and he gave us some really good dinner choices off campus which we tried and they were both super tasty. Their fitness center is great. A variety of different equipment, and other offerings such as yoga and massage therapy. It's easy to walk to from most hotels in downtown Jackson. They offer many membership options or day/week passes for visitors. I was staying at another hotel and came to this fitness center during the week. They open daily from 7am-11pm. Would have been great if they opened a hour earlier, but we made it work. read more

This was a perfect location in Jackson - only a couple of blocks from everything but quiet. It was a comfortable suite and the kitchen was well appointed. There was no maid service, and we had to proactively ask for more coffee pods, towels, etc. One of the maintenance employees was most helpful in bringing us supplies. Otherwise, it would have been nice to have someone at least empty the trash and take the old towels away. Maintenance is a little lacking, a few things didn't work right. My stay here was really nice. I enjoyed the comfortable accommodations. The view was phenomenal. It was so peaceful and serene. The location of this hotel is ideal to go downtown. It is a 5 minute walk. They also have a fine dining restaurant in the basement. I also got a couple of massages. They were each one hour and Andrea was a great masseuse. She really took the time and effort to give great massages. The spa section is pretty small. It is a reception desk and right behind there is a door. Behind the door is the room for the massage. It is a pretty large room. This is much different than what I'm used to but the main thing is that Andrea gave a great massage. They add on a 20% tip which is fine. They also offer facials. This is a very nice, clean and comfortable place to stay while you are in Jackson. They also offer some nice outdoor places to sit with fireplaces. It is very cozy. read more

We stayed here during a corporate trip with rover 100 others. The rooms were excellent and beautiful. The only downside to the room was we couldn't control the heat and had to keep a window open during the night. They supplied a free continental breakfast (not hot) which was more than enough. Booked this Hotel was not Disappointed very large room with all the amenities from home. Slept well. I did not eat in their restaurant but have heard good and bad from it. I do have some tiny criticisms which I'm not going to affect the rating it's more like stuff to look out for and to prepare yourselves for it. 1 Coffee and coffee maker in room but no cream you have to go downstairs and grab it 2. no paper cups in room look personally I don't know where those cups have been and when last time they have been washed. 3. The Tv in the bedroom is only connected to Roku I had no idea how to watch tv so i would have to go to bar area drag chair watch tv that had a volume button that wouldn't work. these were small annoying things that i was only there for 2 days if it had been more it would have been addressed properly. read more

We were so excited about staying at the White Buffalo. My husband has splurged on the suite for our stay. Unfortunately, we were sadly disappointed. Their website sounded great "Our guest-centric service sets us apart from other Jackson Hole hotels and adds a level of service only found in the finest luxury properties." But we have had better experiences at 3 & 4 star hotels. Yes, the suite was impressive with the best layout of a kitchen that I have ever seen for a small space and the rooms were nice, but there was no living area untless you count the bar stools around the kitchen counter. Sure there were 4 oversized chairs bu were so far from each other and only 2 were in the kitchen area that it was hard to sit and just chat. The first night we had to call the front desk because the master bed was falling down on the top right side. They did come promptly to fix it. Definite not a good start. Later that evening my husband went to take a shower and was splashed with cold water coming out of the top of the shower head. There was no way to avoid it as it streamed straight out the shower door and into the bathroom area. Sigh. We let them know the next morning. They said someone would come look at it but when I went to shower the next evening I was greeted with the same cold shower as I turned the knob. Well it wasn't quite like that. The attention to detail was lacking. We had a better breakfast at Town point Suites than what they offered. They had an in suite washer and dryer which was sweet. But, when we started a load, the spin cycle was so loud that it sounded like the machine was going to take off like an airplane. We had to turn it off so we would not disturb the upstairs neighbors. The next morning we finished the wash and drying of our one load. We could also hear our neighbors up above walking all over the place. We could hear every time they turned on the water. I wasn't able to fall asleep until they finally stopped walking around and that was close to 11 pm. Additionally, the primary bedroom was right on a busy street known by the locals as the truck route. So, there was constant noise coming from the street all day and night. No sound proofing at all. Our room was on the first floor. We are investors and have stayed at many boutique hotels because they are one of the things we invest in. This one was extremely lacking. The sad thing is that it had potential to be good, but the service and attention to detail did not match what was advertised on their website. Horrible COVID-19 cancellation experience. Not sure how the hotel relates to the apartment rentals on Airbnb, but they seem to be one and the same, as the host name on the platform uses WBC. There are currently 10 listings for various apartments. We had one booked for travel in May. As things have transpired over the past few weeks - a cancellation was imminent. I let the host know and tried to have a conversation about it. I even stated I would be willing to take credit back, as I want to be in Jackson Hole and visit majestic Yellowstone in the future. Flat NO with zero empathy for the situation. If she had softened it or tried to request from another level of Management additional assistance, I wouldn't be here. In summary, I would not recommend WBC for their hospitality and they clearly have a lack of sensitivity for what is currently happening in our world. read more

This review is for the restaurant not the hotel. Lovely cozy restaurant on the lower level. Menu clearly indicates a steak house but other items as well. 3 of us had bison ragu pasta tonight. We've been in Jackson several days doing the foodie thing and decided we'd had enough meat thus the choice. Absolutely excellent. Menu attached. Several of us had little gem salad also excellent. Good wine selection which included many Italian and French wines as well as mostly California -- Started with cocktails which turned out to be very good. Jackson, for a town with 1ok people has many very good restaurants. Surprisingly better than many high end Bay Area locals. We started a bibb salad with radish, cherry tomatoes, and ranch dressing. Next we had the prime beef filet and the bison filet! The bison filet was amazing and melt in your mouth. Definitely you need try this. Our sides that we ordered were mashed potatoes and mushrooms. The potato portion was one scoop and was definitely was not worth the money. POORLY RUN! No hot water, broken elevator. They made my wife and baby very uncomfortable. When I reported my concerns to them, they said they would report me. Watch them respond to this review -- they will attempt to say that I did something wrong for asking for a partial refund given our poor experience. I heard 3 different people in the lobby complaining about their accommodations, getting weird knocks on their door in the middle of the night, and no hot water. CREEPY! The whole experience at the white Buffalo was fabulous! Our stay was easy, smooth, and clean. They had an excellent continental breakfast every morning with a wide variety of options- even for a vegan like myself. Their gym is OUTSTANDING, it had everything you needed to work out well on a daily basis. Staff is friendly, they always have extra waters and coffee/tea for you. They will get you anything you need for your stay, they were extremely informative about restaurants and activities in the area. The cleaning staff was so friendly and attentive. The shuttle can take you skiing, snow mobiling, and to the airport! The staff is sooo friendly, the place is in a perfect location where you can walk to everywhere on the main drag. Definitely 5 stars. I have nothing to complain about with my stay at the white Buffalo. read more

The rooms are nice, for sure, but there are currently issues that are likely to ruin your stay. THE GOOD I was on the third floor, the top floor, in the building behind the main building. The room was extremely spacious with a couch/sit area to the left, a full kitchen to the right. The bedroom was ahead and there was a nice balcony overlooking the park. Everything was new, the location was great. THE BAD There is a lot of amazing things to see in Jackson so you should be able to come and go as you please, right? Not here (during the week). The main thing, which made me almost miss my flight, is that this hotel's parking is only accessible but this narrow alley that divides this building and a new one currently under construction. However, Monday-Friday, it's a FULL construction crew and they're in the alley blocking the entire parking lot. I'm talking, coned-off from both sides and if you're in, you're blocked all day. I was trying to get to my flight and there was a big flat bed blocking the exit and I asked the crew if they could move it. They shrugged and ignored me. I had to call the front desk since I had to get to my flight, she said, "Well, it might be like an hour or so." Then she wanted to hang-up and I'm like, "Whoa... no, I have to go!!!" I had to get to a shuttle by a certain time after returning my car. She said she would call the hotel manager to talk to the construction crew. After about 30 minutes, they finally moved it so I could get out but a number of other cars were still trapped. Nobody should have to worry about this. This is a MAJOR problem. You shouldn't have to worry if you can get in and out of the hotel, especially when there's no overnight street parking. Plus, this crew will not be done for months, they're not even close to finishing that building so that will be an issue until at least summer. Also, there are absolutely no perks other than a nice room. There's no breakfast. There's no hot tub. There's no pool. It's just a nice room. The various other hotels on the same block have amazing breakfasts but not here, not even a thing of bagels or something. Very friendly service. Small dining/bar area. Great focaccia bread. Fairly nice wine list. Dishes were thoughtful and deliciously prepared. Had to dock a star because two of their star dishes-- the duck and bison short rib were not available. If you're looking forward to these, call ahead of time and verify. This place is a complete horror show. Avoid at all costs. Never come here. Let me explain... The rooms: - As you will see in many reviews, the rooms you get are nothing like what is shown in the pictures. You get something completely different, which is much smaller and worse. - The carpet of my room was completely soaked and smelly. When I asked for another room, the staff would not accommodate. Disgusting. Great - i get to breathe mold all night. - The rooms are incredibly dirty. There were stains on the sheets, and visible dirt on the floor and carpets. The staff would not clean the room for us as they said they were too understaffed. - The walls are paper thin, making the room incredibly loud. I could hear everything from adjacent rooms and the rooms above. - Bad design and quality. The bathrooms have no privacy. Everything is from the 70s and outdated. The hardware in the room is falling apart with screws coming out in multiple places. Service: - Either rude or nonexistent. Whenever there was an issue, they just said we had to deal with it. When asking for a manager, i was hung up on. Restaurant: - Service is horrendous. 20 minutes to get to our table (with reservation). 15 minutes to get a server to come to our table. 30 minutes to get drinks. And the restaurant was super empty... - Absurdly priced food. Worst place in the world to find a $200 steak that's worse than something from your local grocery store. - The food is terrible, and our steaks were completely overcooked. (well done instead of medium rare). Inedible and they would not refund cost of steaks. Offered us a small discount on our next steak. WTF. - Atmosphere is horrendous. Everything spread apart. No barstools. Just an empty soulless place with terrible service. read more

The White Buffalo Club was a fascinating experience ladies and gentlemen! Elegant and upscale yet toned for the romantic settings of a Anniversary or Valentine's evening with your better half. Fun for groups or celebrations an all around phenomenal environment well staffed with tremendous hospitality to all! Menu selections were that of A-1 quality with varieties that would simply amaze you to the fullest extent. Our host for the evening was very hospitable elaborating in depth on specials for this evening. The wine and cocktail list were outstanding with enough variations to sooth whatever your occasion or mood may be. Indulging here will come easy in the least! Ordered the 777 Ranch Bison Filet 6 oz accompanied with baked Idaho potato Whipped butter / crème fraiche / chives for her and the Japanese Wagyu Sirloin Cap Steak burger for myself. Every mouth watering bite taken in both of our dishes left us absolutely speechless. Hitting every ounce of the palette to perfection. This was definitely a breathtaking experience and will blow your mind.
