I have been coming to White Birch Armory for many years, and it has stayed one of the most dependable firearm businesses in the area. I visit mainly for my own range time and to shop in the ProShop, and the experience has always been consistently positive. As a firearms instructor, I often have students asking where they should go after completing their basic training. WBA is one of the first places I mention. I do not receive anything for sending people here. I recommend it because it has been solid every single time I've walked through the door. The retail side is one of the strongest parts of this business. The ProShop is spacious, clean, and well organized with a good flow into the ammunition room. I had not shot a gun in more than 2 decades. I also would target shoot outside back then. So, my first visit to an indoor range with a new gun had me a little on edge. Upon entry, I found it to be clean, organized and has lots of space. The process to get to the range can take a little bit of time on your first visit due to the need for reading disclosures, signatures, etc., but not too long. They are thorough. Good process and security with walking through the doors to the range. It is incredibly warm in the range due to warmer weather and the number of people shooting their guns. I will probably focus more on fall and winter visits in the future. Having an instructor in the range provided great peace of mind due to the number of people in the one room. There is ample space for each party along with a good amount of shelving at each section. read more

First time ordering and will most likely be my last. They don't answer the phone for questions and information on the status of your order is difficult to get. They have FFL's listed and already on file, but only state you have to have the FFL mail in their license yet again in the fine print away from the checkout page. Ordered a couple of guns and even though both were listed in stock, they didn't actually have a pistol I ordered so I'll see how things shake out from here. Drove an hour to get here was told to wait 30 minutes for a lane to open and they wrote down my name and said they would hold a lane for me so I waited and came back right on time and they said all the lanes were closed and I was told to wait another 30 minutes. That is ridiculous why even tell me your going to hold a lane and then tell me there's nothing you can do and tell me wait again?? How do I even know you would hold it a second time?? Sales staff is friendly and helpful. Phone customer service not so much. I purchased a firearm and was told the background checks were taking 2-3 days. I called after 5 days thinking they may have tried but failed to reach me. When I asked if they had heard on the check, I was asked if I had received a call in not the friendliest manner. When I inquired about the wait time, I was pretty much told tuff S***. No Pleases, thank you, sorry for the long wait time, etc. I would have given a 1 or 2 star because of this but the counter service I experienced was good. I ordered ammo from them online and they obviously sold my email address because of the explosion of spam immediately afterwards. No question it was them. We know that unscrupulous vendors like White Birch sell our email addresses, but never in my life has spam exploded like it did after I did business with them. I get about 50/day because of them. So what happens if something important accidentally goes to my spam folder and I don't catch it because of the zillions of emails in the folder? This is the thanks they give you for your business. They probably make a nickle for each email address. ***Update*** Shortly after I wrote this review someone fraudulently used my credit card about 800 miles from here. Now I can't say it was WBA but they are the only questionable company I have done business with since Dack outdoors, and I had the same thing happen after doing business with them. Maybe the in store operation is smooth but the online business is disappointing. It takes a week to get a shipping label made, and who knows how long before it gets picked up by the shipping service. In 2018 with many retailers offering free 2 day delivery, 7 days handling time is completely unacceptable. NOT female friendly. The first time I went was over the summer where I scoured their website for information and all it said was "acceptable footwear". it being summer I changed my flip flops for a pair of ballet flats. I go through their lengthy check in process and start to head in to the range where I am stopped and told that my shoes were "not safe". I asked them why as they are closed toe and nothing was said on their website as to what was acceptable. they asked me to change my shoes. I had to go all the way home two towns away to change my shoes and come back as my rental time ran as I was told they were unable to stop it or reset it. I had a choice to lose part of my money or all of my money. I had not gone back until yesterday as I received a new gun for my birthday and wanted to try it out. This was the closest range so I made sure I wore a pair of boots to be sure I would not get any grief over my choice of footwear. A friend who is an instructor and ex military came with me. The public range was closed so we were sent over to a different range this time. I am 5'2" tall with shoes shooting a brand new gun. The gun was amazing and is my new favorite. However the 'attendant" came up to me telling me I am shooting the ceiling and asked that I only aim at the bottom of the target. (I was good with my shots on the target but with short girl trajectory I guess was hitting the ceiling) I moved the target out further and was spoken to again. So we pulled in the target and tried to attach a new one on lower but the carboard it attached to was too chewed up to be able to do that. Meanwhile while I was shooting my friend was watching the other four males shooting up the ceiling without being spoken to. I want to note here that I was taking aim then shooting. I was not rapid firing willy nilly. Once I finished the next clip i was told that if I hit the ceiling one more time I would be asked to leave. I stood there for a minute and watched a guy hit the ceiling four times with nothing being said (and he had nowhere near the trajectory issues I faced) I left and have no plans on ever returning. read more

I have called them a few times asking about in stock items and they always answer the phone and are more than helpful answering my questions. If the item isn't on the shelf but in stock online they will have it delivered to the store for pickup at no extra charge which is great. Great local gun shop that carries firearms and anything you'd need for them including ammo. They don't have a huge inventory in store there but are always helpful in getting you what you need/want. I did find out that they have an expansive website where you'll find everything else that they may not carry in store including cleaning kits and parts.
