My first & possibly only time getting to go here since I'm moving and after looking for a new place…read moresince Bob's closed, this place did not disappoint! Joseph Rufiange and his team-personable, professional & likable I have met in a long time! Not gun snobs or know-it-all's like I've experienced with other places that shall remain nameless! The facility is quite spacious and very clean and the atmosphere is great! Up-to-date lanes and plenty of room to just enjoy yourself! Hope to get there again some other day in the future! Joe and team - don't ever change!!!

Tense, hostile and rude environment. We get it : guns go bang bang and dangerous. And You're busy…read more But you literally feel more welcome checking in to a prison. Thats how it feels here. Ever watched Seinfeld's "Soup Nazi"? Well if he was this shops Asian American manager and rangemaster vs an Armenian American, that's how you are made to feel. I was literally thrown out of the shop by this guy after CALMY telling him to be PATIENT as I was looking for my drivers license and FFL info while making an $800+ purchase and spent $200 at the range. I'm 55 and have NEVER been thrown out of ANYWHERE in my life. The customers around me were frankly as shocked and stunned as I was. I never raised my voice. The manager himself let him get run away angry for my suggesting he needs to calm down. This place is ESPECIALLY hostile if you are from out of state. How many times was I barked at for my license to carry and had to explain - again - that I'm out of state and looking to do a purchase and FFL transfer. Guys, if you don't want out of state buyers in your store, just Say so on your website or put a sign out on the front door. Because that's the message you're Staff is giving. You're not special. Anyone can click to buy on your website or 1000 other websites. We come to your store, it's because we want to see the products in person and I made the effort to come there for that reason. If you do not want that business to say so in advance, don't waste our collective time. Contrast all of this was my experience just the day before at the Sig Sauer Experience Center in New Hampshire. Extremely friendly and informative. Actively encouraged me to purchase at local gun shops. Which I tried to do here in gratitude for being allowed to test 2 firearms which I was then prepared to buy. But then tossed out of the store for having the temerity to politely ask for patience and respect from the manager! I was respectful of all their many rules and requirements. I was not treated reciprocally. Lastly, I allowed almost a week after sending a calm and considerate Email to the store owner detailing my experience and receiving no response. I'm not the kind of guy who just runs to Google or Yelp to leave one star reviews. They've had full opportunity to at least acknowledge receipt, which they have not I'm a small business owner and manager. If a shop has a problem like this, it all stems from on high. Because the owner establishes the tone of the store or condones bad behavior. Joe : you have a problem here. You need to step up and address it. Everyone can appreciate that Firearms can be dangerous and lethal. However, that does not condone Creating a tense And unwelcoming environment. Because that's what you feel when you come into this place. You can see it on everybody's face who's a client in there as well, Especially those people in line waiting to either check in or check out of the range. Of the five of your employees I dealt with, only one seemed to have any sense of warmth towards clients. Given your inability to even respond to constructive criticism, You also need to take a moment To consider how you are enabling this behavior.

Domenic M is correct about the inaccurate statements concerning range safety by reviewer Vanessa…read moreV. Her claims that you enter the club and/or club range(s) from the downrange position are 100% wrong. The paper signs she refers to state you are entering an active shooting facility. It is a safety measure/warning. It doesn't mean you are being shot at. When shooting on the club range(s) you are firing away from the clubhouse and entrance road NOT at them as she claims. Safety is of paramount importance to the club and it is stressed to every member and every guest. I am not sure what she was thinking but what she has posted is not accurate in the least. As Domenic M stated it is a membership based club. It is not a public range facility where you can just show up and buy ammo, rent guns, be provided with hearing and eye protection, and then shoot away. You need to be a member or the guest of a member to use their facilities. However, they do offer public shooting events and firearms training programs all the time that are open to the public and at those functions they do provide those items if needed. The club is very family and community oriented. Check out their website to see all they offer. And do not be afraid or have any safety concerns. Vanessa V's review could not be more wrong re: her comments on the direction of shooting.

I was looking up the location because they were talking about getting together soon. I would rather shoot my bow that shoot my pistol. I'm not comfortable with having the pistol range "Down Range' of the rifle range. There is so much land there. Why don't they have just a rifle range and just a pistol range. Why combine the two? I am sure the club has rules, but so much can go wrong with the way those ranges are setup. Otherwise, I didn't go into the club house so I can't speak of it. I did like that water along the side and one thing I will do with my buddies is to do some fishing there.

If I have to exclude everybody else, fine, John is awesome! He makes amazing coffee. But if I was going to be realistic, I would have a list of their entire staff in this review. My biggest complaint may be the AC in the sales section, it tends to get way too warm during the hot days, which is disappointing. The range experience is great, when I ask for something exciting to try, they always have an honest answer and something new to try out. Additionally, their RSOs are awesome when on the range, always offering their time and suggestions. It's great having an expert provide solicited advice. The club is also great, they are really making the best out of their space and offering. I do wish that they would hold non-club special events in the event space rather than the lounge, but to be honest, most members are hanging out in the range rather than upstairs in the lounge, so it spends a lot of its time with low occupancy, which is great for members that want to get some work done between range visits. I look forward to trying out their outdoor ranges, they just opened up to members and I hope to try them out soon!

I was told yes. Then was told to call back an hour before coming up so they could reserve a lane for me. I did. Got there, and was told I needed to have a friend with me. I was not aware of this and he told me that he "always says that on the phone". I chose not to argue, but I know for a fact I was not told that over the phone. I would have questioned as to why I needed someone with me because I thought it was odd. If someone is that determined, they could go to an LTC class and just do it anyways so that policy just seems redundant. Idk that's just my opinion, but I did not appreciate driving up here expecting to shoot on a Saturday night then having to go home.

WORTH THE MONEY, GREAT EDUCATION! I bought a Groupon for 1/2 off the H-1 and H-2 Handgun courses…read more.. so far I've only attended H-1 and it was awesome. I went into it knowing almost nothing about handguns (a little about rifles, very little) and left with the comfort of understanding how they work. I can easily walk into a range now and try out different guns without fear or confusion. THESE COURSES NRA CERTIFIED (at least all the levels 1&2). It does say that on the website, but I don't think it's very obvious.. We left with an official NRA instruction book, certificate, patch (yes, like girl- or boy-scouts), and several other pamphlets. We also shot about 25 rounds which is not required for the NRA courses, but as our instructor pointed out, it is much different to try it with real bullets than with blanks and fake-practicing. Well worth it, even on a cold January day. Tedd, the owner and instructor, is a vet with tons of experience. He is direct, helpful, and is not afraid to offer his opinions.. which are interesting to hear. He was patient with an older couple that never touched their gun (but owned it for two years??) and offered tricks and tips for maneuvering switches for my friend because our hands aren't really strong (especially the de-cocker and the slide lock **keywords I learned!) So, if you're unsure, don't know a thing, want revenge on the politicians trying to take away our rights, or simply curious - this is the place to start! I think everyone should take at least the H-1 course before they can say a THING about guns. It really changes your perception when you're in control. Don't be afraid, get educated! ... I'll update after H-2 in March but I imagine it'll be even better and more fun than H-1!

It's a much larger range than I'm used to, which could get really dangerous, but they have a system of lights and intercoms that seems to keep everyone safe. We just shot at the far end-- intended for short-distance pistol firing. I was really glad I had two men with me to help out... I would probably still be there trying to get them to fit into the little wooden slots. There is an indoor range too, which is a nice touch, but I didn't manage to get in there. Note on bathrooms... use the ones you have at home. Outhouse doesn't even begin to describe them.

Also, when you arrive they cook you a great breakfast complete with coffee that will get you through the morning. For anyone interested in getting any sort of gun license, or in learning more about gun handling, safety, or recreational shooting, Andover Sportsmen Club is the way to go. Do make sure you don't need to refill your car with gas on your way out of North Andover late on a Sunday evening, however, or else you might find yourself at the mercy of your misguided GPS driving through a residential neighborhood, and then rescued by a British couple (bless their hearts) who drive in front of you to guide you back to civilization and, lo and behold, a gas station that, unlike many of the others you've driven by, happens to be open.

Customer service, helpfulness, and the feeling that you matter are important. I don't expect to get treated like King SH, in fact I don't "expect" anything - it's up to the other to demonstrate whether they deserve my business, my loyalty, and Next Level gets that done every time. It's been my store since day one. Day one I found the atmosphere friendly and respectful. I especially like that they have a computer set up for customers to do the back ground check form. No messy paper work to mess with! Everything rolls and they get you done fast - love it! They stand behind their products, stand behind you 110% and you'll never feel like a red headed step child calling back with questions or for help. Perhaps that's because, like myself, they're veterans. I don't know but you feel it right away. I just purchased my third firearm from them, a Walther PPQ .45.
