My husband and I never get the chance to spend time or do anything without our baby. We found a sitter tonight and we're excited to go shooting. We walked in at 705 started doing the intake form. we were never told a thing when we walked in and started the forms. Until after my husband started walking away from the intake kiosk we were suddenly told "we're not taking any more shooters tonight because we'll be closing down the range in about 20 mins." If it says it's open til 8, then stay open til 8. If not- SPECIFY THAT ITS 730. You don't understand how important little breaks of freedom are to new parents. Went with my sister in law a couple months ago. It was my 2nd time ever shooting, just recently took the class (elsewhere) to get my license. The man at front, possibly Chris, was extremely helpful. He even came in the range with me and helped, knowing I was quite intimidated. Very thankful for his knowledge and assistance. I have since gone 4 more times and purchased my first gun from there...with lots of advice. Every time I go, I leave having learned something. The range person does nOt hover but if he knows your open to advice and critiquing, he will advise you. I tried a different range a couple weeks ago. A range that came highly recommended. This is a shooting range. The staff is super polite and explains you everything. This is super helpful for the first time visitors. Pat is a wonderful instructor. He was very sincere and explained us everything we need to understand before we start shooting. Pat was there all the time to guide us so we can have a good experience. Great spot, it does get busy and it is a little pricey but the staff is great, the range is well lit and the shop is great, nice selection of all things shooting- Except do to no fault of thier own -AMMO- plenty of 9mm and rifle cal- good rentals 3 of us shot for about an hour and a half - rented an AR15 plus shot our own grabbed several targets eye protection cost us 340.00$$ I recommend, but bring your wallet this place is not a 401c read more

Made me feel very comfortable in the range my first time handling a pistol. The fact that he doesn't leave you hanging after class and provides his email for any follow up questions is great! My son and I took the NRA Firearms Safety Course at On Target. Our Instructor was Mr. James DeCecca, and he did an excellent job. The class was interesting and perfect for anyone new to firearms handling, even if they have zero experience. The course covers a lot of material thoroughly with plenty of time set aside to answer questions. In addition to the class the facility has an excellent firing range and a great selection of guns for sale or rental. One of the best places in MA to get introduced to the sport. read more

I first came here to use the range and try out various handguns to see which one fit me. The $20/caliber rental was perfect for this. I was able to try out a few different 9mm to find a fit. Everyone behind the counter was very attentive and helpful as this was my first time at a shooting range. The range safety officer was very helpful with both safety tips as well as shooting tips. A couple weeks later I ordered a handgun off their website to pickup. I went to go pickup the firearm two days after purchasing online, and at that time the firearm had gone on sale. I asked the gentleman assisting me if he could help me out with the price, and was given an extra magazine and a box of defense ammo to make up the price difference. They didn't have to do this, but they gained a loyal customer. I plan on coming here for all my future firearm purchases and look forward to using the range again! read more

This is a great group of people. The website says friendliest gun shop and I can say that is very accurate. I've been here a few times now for the range and purchasing firearms. The staff is more than helpful and willing to tell you anything you'd want to know about anything in the shop. In addition I was in the range while listening to the staff teach a group of individuals about firearms/ firearms safety, they were clearly new and I felt safe the entire time listening to how they walked them through the steps of everything. I brought my boyfriend as a fun date night activity but the experience was anything but fun. I called ahead to inquire what the protocol would be for beginners (since we both had zero experience) and was reassured safety is a number one priority and we would be shown how to operate the firearm. INSTEAD when we came in we got a 30 second (if that) demonstration on how to load, hold, and fire the gun. We immediately were given 50 rounds of ammo and a gun and sent on our way. It was TERRIFYING to say the least. And after struggling to load the gun...it jammed a few times and received very little help. We decided to just leave instead of further tampering with a deadly weapon with no experience. Definitely disappointed and worried for any other people coming in with little to no experience! read more

This was the first time me and my boyfriend shot a gun & this place was sooo accommodating. The guys were really nice and knowledgeable. They made us feel very comfortable. Someone showed up step by step about loading the gun, holding a gun properly and safely. And it's was very affordable compared to other indoor gun ranges. This place really gets ammo right! A year ago I bought 100 round of 223 for $160 bucks. Today I got 500 rounds of high velocity .22lr for $42 bucks! (Feb 2021) Nice range, wish they would add sticky floor pads to grab the lead. But it's a good place to go. read more

First time customer of On Target Firearms today and it was a great experience. I called first to check if they ammo and they were polite and patient. I can't imagine the volume of calls they must be getting these days which has to be frustrating. However, the man I spoke to was courteous and patient. When I got to the store, I was greeted immediately upon entering. The store was bright and clean and well stocked. The guys behind the counter could not have been more helpful. I even used their range while I was there and had a great time. The prices were outstanding! Way better than I could find locally and online. This was a really great first experience shooting! The employee who helped us was amazing, even when it got busy. He was incredibly patient with our questions, showed us how to be safe and came in when we needed his help, and generally seemed very knowledgeable. I appreciated the culture there as well as it seemed friendly, but also it seemed like it was important to others that whatever we were doing was safe as we were a group of novices. Going here since they opened, not anymore. The owner and one other worker are nice and helpful. Other than that the employees would rather not talk to you. One recent time I walked in the store just looking at holsters and stuff and one employee came up to me and said "I'm gonna need to see some ID" before I had even asked to see anything or said one word to him. Good selection of range guns I guess but not worth the price or dealing with employees. Ammo is literally the most expensive here than anywhere in the country. Just go to NH to shoot seriously. read more

Absolutely love this place!! Me and my wife just got our LTC's a couple months ago, so we are pretty new to the world of firearms. Despite having taken the MA required safety course (elsewhere) for the LTC, we still were not comfortable shooting on our own right away, so we paid for two additional training sessions with their instructors, mostly to watch over us, give us some pointers and make sure we didn't do anything stupid. The first session was with Tyler and the second with Fitzy. Both guys were awesome. They immediately put us at ease and gave us great advice that got us shooting better (and safer) almost right away. After the second session we felt comfortable enough to go in on our own, so we decided to become members and have been going a couple times a week ever since. We've probably spent a small fortune there due to the insane cost of ammo right now...but that is obviously out of On-Target's control and it was still worth it to us. As far as we're concerned, you can't put a price on feeling safe with your firearm and that is exactly what the staff at On-Target and the routine practice has helped us accomplish. Their website claims that they are the friendliest range and despite this being the only one we've been to so far, I'm inclined to believe it. Can't recommend this place highly enough!! Give em' a try. Pretty sure you won't regret it. read more

He gave us a lot of senario examples and made the lesson understandable by breaking down the material and training. I really enjoyed the class and loved that we were able to put our training to the test and we were watched attentively to make sure everyone was being safe! The blame falls on me. But if you do not know anything about guns and or are old. DO NOT COME HERE. A knowledge salesman that does not care about customers or the store's reputation, sold me an impossible, for me, to clean hand gun. I can't fire the gun because I can't clean it. I do not know anything about guns and am 74 years old. Went to On Target Firearms to buy a hand gun that was easy to clean. Older gentleman that is younger than I am, waited on me first. I told him I was looking for a small hand gun that is easy to clean. There were two to choose from, neither had a price tag on them. He told me lots about the gun and that it was easy to clean. While handling it I tried to release the lever with my thumb to slide the thing forward to close it , only one out of three attempts was successful. I tried to eject the clip, several attempts before success. I asked him to show me how easy it was to clean. He took it apart quickly, but after many attempts was unable to put it together. His shift was ending. Another gentleman much stronger and taller made a couple of failed attempts. He had to get the spring compressed he had to bend over to get his maximum strength, to compress the spring then held compressed then pull the bar out the end of the barrel hold and quickly assemble it into the gun. This gentleman also saw my failures to press the levers to close the top of the gun and release the clip. I know I am no match for a salesman. When I started I was sure I the older gentleman was an honest man that would not take advantage, of an old weak minded man. A few years ago my wife wanted to look at a red car at a dealership, 3 1/2 hours later I bought that car. I had to sell my other car. I am no match for a salesman that does not care about customers or the store's reputation. If only my wife were here she would go back and demand a return. I miss my wife she was the strong one of the two of us. read more
