I belong to, where people know me. Nobody knows me at Granite State. It was so nice not to have a man hover over me, putting his two cents in, before I even pull the trigger. I was offered help to reach the target stand (which I was grateful for since there were no stools). Other than that, I was left alone, which I was very grateful for. Note, I went on a Saturday afternoon and the place was slammed. Make a reservation before you go. Very safe and family friendly

I was told yes. Then was told to call back an hour before coming up so they could reserve a lane for me. I did. Got there, and was told I needed to have a friend with me. I was not aware of this and he told me that he "always says that on the phone". I chose not to argue, but I know for a fact I was not told that over the phone. I would have questioned as to why I needed someone with me because I thought it was odd. If someone is that determined, they could go to an LTC class and just do it anyways so that policy just seems redundant. Idk that's just my opinion, but I did not appreciate driving up here expecting to shoot on a Saturday night then having to go home.

My 8 year old son fired a .22 caliber rifle for the first time today. I consider myself an avid shooter and responsible EDC person but have always kept my activities separate from my son. I wanted him to be introduced to firearms use by adults other than myself who share my passion. My thanks goes out to all the staff and members of Sunset Mountain who provided this program today! It's a much larger range than I'm used to, which could get really dangerous, but they have a system of lights and intercoms that seems to keep everyone safe. We just shot at the far end-- intended for short-distance pistol firing. The targets are unlike those I've ever seen... you actually have to pick up a 10ft plank of wood and drag it on to the range to your desired distance. I was really glad I had two men with me to help out... I would probably still be there trying to get them to fit into the little wooden slots. There is an indoor range too, which is a nice touch, but I didn't manage to get in there. Note on bathrooms... use the ones you have at home. Outhouse doesn't even begin to describe them.

Great sales, range, and member staff! A wonderful building on top of that…read more Wow, I really want to have a review giving kudos to a single person, but I'd have to list everybody that I have worked with. If I have to exclude everybody else, fine, John is awesome! He makes amazing coffee. But if I was going to be realistic, I would have a list of their entire staff in this review. My biggest complaint may be the AC in the sales section, it tends to get way too warm during the hot days, which is disappointing. The range experience is great, when I ask for something exciting to try, they always have an honest answer and something new to try out. Additionally, their RSOs are awesome when on the range, always offering their time and suggestions. It's great having an expert provide solicited advice. The club is also great, they are really making the best out of their space and offering. I do wish that they would hold non-club special events in the event space rather than the lounge, but to be honest, most members are hanging out in the range rather than upstairs in the lounge, so it spends a lot of its time with low occupancy, which is great for members that want to get some work done between range visits. I look forward to trying out their outdoor ranges, they just opened up to members and I hope to try them out soon!
