Andover Sportsmen Club taught me most of what I know about guns and shooting. Three friends and I…read morespent approximately ten hours here one Sunday taking the NRA safety certification course required by MA for gun licensing, and somehow the instructors made it (and by "it" I don't mean just the hands-on shooting range stuff, because of course that part of it isn't dull) something other than dull. Also, when you arrive they cook you a great breakfast complete with coffee that will get you through the morning. For anyone interested in getting any sort of gun license, or in learning more about gun handling, safety, or recreational shooting, Andover Sportsmen Club is the way to go. Do make sure you don't need to refill your car with gas on your way out of North Andover late on a Sunday evening, however, or else you might find yourself at the mercy of your misguided GPS driving through a residential neighborhood, and then rescued by a British couple (bless their hearts) who drive in front of you to guide you back to civilization and, lo and behold, a gas station that, unlike many of the others you've driven by, happens to be open.

i have been a member hear for 4 months now and i believe it is the best sportsman club hands down…read more If your into shooting guns they have a great outdoor shooting range that goes from 25 yds for hand guns to a 50-100 yard range for shot guns and rifles. There is also a great skeet range as well. oh and i almost forgot about the 24 hour indoor range for all members. there is also an archery range and a 3d archery course that goes into the woods. great staff and the property is very well kept. if your are looking for a club to join and enjoy, i highly recommend Andover Sportsmen Club.

We had a really great time here. The facility is really clean and the staff was very nice/good at…read moreexplaining. $30/person for 75 minutes, it's plenty of time, lots of axe throwing We did the axes and there are several games to play like connect 4, zombies, etc. The games show up as a projector and you use a keyboard to change games and keep score. The lanes are shorter than typical axe throwing places, it was only about ~10ft maybe. If you check in, you get free popcorn! This is a great date place, definitely check it out!

Back on April 3rd, I reserved a spot for May 15th. It was for my birthday weekend and I was…read moreexcited, as I had never done archery before and had always wanted to try it. I put down a $40 deposit for the time spot for me and three guests to go. I live over an hour away from Axes and Archery, so I even went as far as researching other things we could do in the area once we were done that day. I received an email today (May 12th) saying that my event was coming up and to please have guests fill-out the safety/registration form online (copied and pasted from email: "Your Archery event is coming soon. We are "Axcited" to provide an excellent time for your group. Let our "Axperts" know if anything has changed concerning your reservation, and we can make sure your time here is one to remember. Don't forget to wear closed-toed shoes and sign the waiver for each Axe thrower/Archery Shooter.") Later in, my friend pointed out to me that on their website, it said that the Archery lanes were being upgraded (copied and pasted: "We are upgrading our Archery lanes, and in order to do so, all lanes will be temporarily closed. We expect to reopen them on June 1st. Thank you!"). I told her that no one had reached out to me all month to tell me about it and that I just received an email from them today saying my event was coming up, and that it made no mention of it being canceled. But still, I was skeptical and sent them a Facebook message explaining that I had an event coming up on Sunday and asked if everything was good to go, and that I just needed 2 of the others in my group to sign the waivers if everything was still in place. I received the reply "Perfect. You're all set then!". I even asked them about the BYOB policies and continued conversing afterward. Later that day, I had a gut feeling that I should make absolutely sure everything was good for us to drive over there for May 15th. I called and the gentleman who answered said that Archery was temporarily closed, that he was sorry, and that we could do Axe throwing if we wanted to instead. Not only am I finding this out three days before our planned day trip, received an email reminder (literally today) for our time spot and waivers, was told through Facebook messenger that I was all set...I had to find out the cancelation myself through getting ahold of them, because no one called/emailed/texted during the entire month that I had this planned. The only nice thing I could say was that the guy I spoke to on the phone at the end was apologetic and issued me a refund immediately. I'm extremely disappointed at the lack of communication. If I didn't triple check the website, we would have had zero idea that our plans were canceled and drove over there. I'm so upset that the day plans I made for other things to do in the Salem, NH area are also out the window, because they were centered around our Archery time slot. My friends and I didn't make any back-up plans or come up with any other ideas either, because we were blissfully unaware that no one would notify us if something happened.

Best shop I've had the pleasure to work with!!!…read more I've been out of the archery scene for awhile due to life changes, injury, etc. Decided I wanted to dip back into things and needed the bow tuned along with some new arrows etc. I'm a target archer...not a hunter....and decidedly out of practice. It's a touch embarrissing to walk into a busy shop with so many capable archers and be so shaky at full draw. (My fundamentals are okay but I need some conditioning.) The new owner Jon (and, it must be said, his supporting staff) have simply been fantastic!!! Zero judgement!! Didn't make me feel small for not arriving with a camo painted 80lb hunting bow that I could hold at full draw for 10 minutes LOL (despite it being the start of hunting season when they're undoubtedly buried with work from that market segment.) His staff was welcoming & friendly to a person and he himself took a direct interest in my target gear, my target focused setup, and he spent more time than I should have expected talking setup, next steps, making recommendations, offering choices, and discussing with genuine interest, my goals and objectives on the indoor range. I'm a fan! If you are into archery, have thought about it, or just need something for your setup....these guys (and ladies) are the real deal matter what your focus might be! One encounters such good service so infrequently these days that I'm looking for more to "support my local sheriff! Gratitude to Jon and his staff!

New Ownership within last 2 years…read more I could not be happier with my crossbow and the service I received going in to East Coast Archery. Jon sat me down and showed me the options and compared the different models showing me the differences, pros and cons. They have a huge selection of crossbows and compound bows. He had me shoot the final 3 crossbows I was trying to decide on. He again sat with me to make sure I understood how to properly use it and then we the used a Chronograph and dialed in the cross bow. Prices are excellent and service is second to none. If you're looking for a great shop East Coast Archery is the place for you.
