I was in trouble, we had a power outage and when the power came back on there was a power surge that blew my refrigerator, it was dead. Not something you can do without, so I started searching online to get some ideas about what to get as a replacement, and I needed it quick. I called Whitco and spoke to the owner Bill, I gave him the brand and model number for what I was looking for. he told me he had one in stock. My wife and I drove out to buy it. We were desperate, everything from our freezer was outside as it was below freezing out, ant the fridge contents we put in the cellar etc. to try to keep as cool as possible. I'm a diabetic and keeping my very expensive insulin is a must, I told Bill about that. I bought the new fridge just before Noon, and by 3:30 that same day the new fridge was delivered, hooked up, and the old one removed. How could anyone ask for more than that. Our freezer died shortly after the Covid19 crisis began and our freezer was full of food we intended to live on in the coming months. We had no idea that there had been a run on freezers due to the virus and were astonished to find there were no freezers in stock in any stores in Massacusetts or online. We reverted to trying to find someone to fix the 24 year old freezer which likely had a freon leak and learned that nobody really did that kind of work anymore. A very kind repairman in Rutland suggested calling Whitco Sales and we couldn't believe it when Al told us he had one freezer left and could deliver it the next day! The guys who came to deliver it were terrific, they had masks and gloves and took great care in taking out the old freezer and installing the new one. We went to Whitco to purchase a new flat screen tv. They had great prices and a decent selection. The employees were great in answering our questions. We decided on a 50 inch LED TV. We brought it home and found out that was too big for the space we wanted to put it (our own fault for not checking). Whitco exchanged the TV to a smaller one with no questions asked and no charges. When we brought our second TV home, it was noticed that there was red molding around the outside of the TV that we hadn't seen in the store (didn't have a display model out) and we didn't like the look with the red trim. So back to Whitco we went. Again no questions asked for an exchange. We are now very happy with our TV. We have done all of our appliance shopping here. This is always our last place to shop because their prices are always cheaper even without haggling. Don't let the appearance of this place fool you, they are great. read more

My husband I bought a washing machine from them on Veterans Day, we saved $200 and not to mention the prices are lower than anywhere else to begin with!! We also bought a Roomba and saved a good amount on that as well!! they have alot of things one might not expect! They have appliances, televisions, speakers, pots and pan sets, small appliances, bikes, toys lots of toys ones you dont see anymore as well as newer ones! a large assortment of Legos! literally they have a better toy department than other larger stores! we will be going back for a freezer! the staff is pleasant and knowledgeable about everything in the store we couldn't be happier!!! I love Whitco and have purchased several items from them in the past (air conditioners, tv's, dishwashers etc). I recently (last week) purchased a refrigerator at a GREAT PRICE! I always check prices and value at Whitco then i search on line other stores. Not mentioning any names but when I was looking at LG Refrig (didn't buy LG) the SAME MODEL # was at a large Worcester store for 250+ more than the price at Whitco... I debated between LG and GE Profile, and thanks to Bill's help and advice I opted for the GE Profile--which had much better reviews than the LG... I plan on getting a grill there in a few months as well. Give Whitco a try and you won't be disappointed. The place is cluttered but who cares--less overhead, better prices.... read more

We were in the market for a new washing machine. After researching we found all the big box stores had limited models in stock. Availability was extremely limited. We found our way to Whitco, Main St. Spencer MA through an on line search and very happy we did. We were not positive as what would be the best model for us. Al, (Sales Manager) was extremely helpful in explaining the different models, front and top loading machines. Our first choice was a GE top loader and unlike any other store, they had this model in stock. In the end, Whitco beat the lowest price we found. Al was excellent to deal with. Very accommodating. This company is deliberately non-handicap friendly. From the grills on the sidewalks to the obstructions in the aisles. The owners look down on people and give misleading information. A woman in town bought a player from them which she could not connect to her T.V so she returned and they told her the kind of wire she wanted did not exist and sold her a new tv for $300 (her's was fine). We were later able to find the exact wire that Mr. White (the owner) said did not exist at Walmart for $14 read more

We bought all of our appliances from them for a home we are building. The store is a bit tight when walking through but the salesmen were super knowledgeable and helpful with getting us the best deal possible. I especially appreciated that they were not really actively trying to sell us, they simply told us what they thought would be best based on what we were looking for.
