After a spicy dinner we needed a cool down--whispers gelato was the perfect end to a perfect Chicago day. We both got the coconut and it was wonderful. Such an adorable server as well.

Stopped by here for a fresh juice and it was delicious. $10 for 16 oz is of course expensive but that's what people charge for juice nowadays. I was able to build my own and did celery, pineapple, green apple, and lemon. The cashier was super friendly and helped me choose a good drink! We didn't sit but there were some chairs and little tables available.

Have always enjoyed myself here even during the limited time you can hang out places during the pandemic. A piece of chicago and americana... in the area near tavern on rush that we call the viagra triangle ( you can figure that out yourself). The family that runs this are nice to all their Gold Coast neighbors Many luminaries and famous people will come here in the summer...hopefully we will be allowed to congregate here in the summer without random people saying there looks like there are too many people . I love the gelato and when you see it you're like " summer has arrived.

Saw some other reviews saying the coffee wasn't the best. I disagree, I got a blended chocolate/caramel which was amazing. Also got a pistachio muffin that was good as well. Definitely a must try when it's a nice day as it's almost a small brick park in the middle of the city. Don't need to get anything if you're not hungry/thirsty to enjoy the view!

Amazing gelato tried the mint chip and strawberry cheesecake flavors and both were excellent. The cheesecake pieces and creamy texture of the cheesecake gelato were spot on along with the flavor. My husband got a mango strawberry smoothie and didn't care for it but gelato was amazing!

I wouldn't consider this a lakeside venue. However it's a welcome place to stop and grab some coffee or a healthy juice beverage. It has a park like setting with mature trees that can help provide shade while you take that little break touring around Chicago.

A quiet oasis in the middle of the urban jungle. Great cappuccino and smoothies. Quick and efficient service. They have a small selection pastries that looked delicious. Prices are standard for the area. What makes this so nice is there is a ton of tables and benches right next to the cafe where you can relax under a canopy of trees and enjoy a cool breeze and just people watch. Lots of pups out with owners which always makes me smile. Deducted one star because there was loose trash and no one clearing and cleaning tables. Kind of a self serve in that department. Greta early morning stop to just enjoy the city.

Cute little coffee shop located in between State Street, Bellevue Place, Rush Street, and Cedar Street. The building itself was built in the 1870s and has a connection to Frank Lloyd Wright. It is very small and there's only room for two the cashiers. But, they serve coffee, fresh fruit smoothies, pastries, and has a cart next to the building that has the gelato. I have only tried the swiss chocolate gelato, but it's so good and creamy. A perfect snack to cool off or to end your night.

You definitely pay for the ambiance. Also location - your in front of Carmine's and the plaza is as European as you can get in Chicago. In addition your getting gelato (not ice cream) next to a cafe - yes it feels very nice. The ice cream is of the finest quality. The banana praline, strawberry cheese cake and pistachio tasted great, light and not too sweet. The mixed fruit was good. Is it worth the $10 for 2 borderline petite scoops? NO. I will however enjoy my time here because it's like being in glossy magazine add only I'm in it.

Love the fresh juice, although a little pricey, this is great area to have a coffee and plan the days agenda.

Love this cafe but its isn't open winter. You can sit in the best park in the Gold Coast having gelato and coffee.

Had an almond milk latte on three separate occasions during my stay and each were delicious. THANK YOU for using Califia brand. The staff is nice and friendly, and bring the drinks/food to your table. Well, I didn't order any food, the items also looked really good I've seen popular as many people ordered food. Note, there is no public restroom available at this location -not at the hotel or office building, which is super lame. The coffee shop is also limited to seating on the two long tables nearest their coffee shop only. The rest of the seating areas are off-limits. *eye roll* and the closest bathroom is across the street at the Yolk restaurant. But don't skip out on trying Mojo, just know the facts ahead of time!

I had a latte with their Maple Cinnamon syrup, and it was delicious. The chocolate croissant was also nice and flaky, though I wish they offered the option to heat it up. When visiting Chicago last week I was looking for coffee spots within walking distance of Grant Park and I found fairgrounds. I'm so glad I chose to stop in! The indoor seating area is small with one larger table, a single seat & table, and some bar like seats. I was able to snag the single seat with a small round table to myself. It was so cute inside and while I wish there was more indoor seating there was a lots of space to sit outside which I also enjoyed after finishing my food. I got the tahini caramel latte, the staff was very kind in helping me decide on a drink, I made a substitution to have it made with almond milk and it was delicious! So rich in flavor and a great coffee taste without being too sweet. Also you have to get the breakfast burrito with an extra side of salsa. I've never had a breakfast burrito and salsa like the one I ate at Fairgrounds and I'm still dreaming of it! The burrito was piping hot, had so many different bright flavors and the salsa on the side was very bright and fresh. Absolute 10/10
