This is a very cute cafe at the viagra triangle in Gold Coast. They have great baked goods, gelato and yummy healthy juices. The prices are slightly steep (we paid around $12 for a glass of OJ). The location is perfect, they have a small fountain nearby and lots of benches to sit on. It's surrounded by many great restaurants and people come to this triangle to just sit and people watch. Overall, the location of this small cafe gives a very European vibe. The service is fast. Do swing by this place for Togo orders and sit around the fountain for your little escape to Europe. read more

I got the mocha latte and it was alright to be honest not the best I've tasted but I look forward to coming again and trying something new. I should've tried one of their fruity drinks! The service was so friendly and welcoming. My lovely boyfriend and I spent a while talking and drinking by the water fountain next to other people and enjoying the vibes. The sound of the water was so calming, this was around 10pm-11pm and there was still so many people around walking and just enjoying themselves. Whispers is in the middle of a number of restaurants in the River North area and serves coffee, juice, pastries, and gelato. We opted to get some coffees, a banana nut muffin and a single scoop gelato. They're open late which is great cos my bf is always looking for coffee later in the day. Have always enjoyed myself here even during the limited time you can hang out places during the pandemic. A piece of chicago and americana... in the area near tavern on rush that we call the viagra triangle ( you can figure that out yourself). The family that runs this are nice to all their Gold Coast neighbors Many luminaries and famous people will come here in the summer...hopefully we will be allowed to congregate here in the summer without random people saying there looks like there are too many people . Stopped by here for a fresh juice and it was delicious. $10 for 16 oz is of course expensive but that's what people charge for juice nowadays. I was able to build my own and did celery, pineapple, green apple, and lemon. The cashier was super friendly and helped me choose a good drink! They basically charge you $12 and change for a single cup if there's two flavors and then they call it two portions but it's a single scoop container. Cute little coffee shop located in between State Street, Bellevue Place, Rush Street, and Cedar Street. The building itself was built in the 1870s and has a connection to Frank Lloyd Wright. It is very small and there's only room for two the cashiers. But, they serve coffee, fresh fruit smoothies, pastries, and has a cart next to the building that has the gelato. I have only tried the swiss chocolate gelato, but it's so good and creamy. A perfect snack to cool off or to end your night. read more

The banana praline, strawberry cheese cake and pistachio tasted great, light and not too sweet. The mixed fruit was good. Is it worth the $10 for 2 borderline petite scoops? NO. Whispers Cafe is the perfect place to stop for a drink during the nice Chicago summer weather. We stopped here after visiting the Surgical Science Museum and it was excellent. I ordered the iced tea which was perfectly brewed and served ice cold. We managed to snag a seat by the fountain which was a picture perfect backdrop for our drink break. It was really busy that weekend, so we were lucky to snag some chairs! The pavilion is shaded nicely with trees and it had really lovely ambience. Also, the other muffins aren't really great either, but again, ambiance. It's a nice watering hole for this area where you can sit under the shade of lush trees in the summer, people watch, or read a book if you can ignore the street traffic. A cellist even comes on most weekends! However, this rating is a knock on their gelato and price. Pretty average tasting (I got the pistachio) for the price, around $6. Good stop on the hottest day of the year. Gelato is pretty good. (Andy's Frozen Custard is better.) I won't buy gas on weekends because they jack up the price, but I paid six bucks for 1 scoop of gelato. Plus tip. Don't be an asshole: Tip these kids. I came here on a warm afternoon in Chicago. They have a large variety of flavors here. They also offer smoothies I believe. I got the mango sorbet as I wanted more of a fresh and light ice cream. It was decent but nothing special. My sister got the coconut ice cream with a cone but sadly they didn't have any left. It was fairly busy here but it is in the middle of a bustling area. Whispers Cafe itself is a little booth / gelato store in the middle of the park. The staff here is super friendly, and prices are very reasonable! They sell espresso and a wide selection of baked goods, as well as a really respectable selection of juices from their juicer. Came across this little spot after walking through the shops in Gold Coast. We walked up to a window and I ordered a "Ging-N-Juice". The Ging-N-Juice was fresh and I could definitely taste the ginger. However, the carrot taste in the juice was very overwhelming, so I could not really taste the apples or oranges. Next time I come I would probably order another drink. My boyfriend ordered a lemonade. He was not a huge fan of it either. He said it was way too sweet. We were able to find a table and just enjoy the city and the people all around us. Lots of people out here with their kids, dogs, significant others. A lot of restaurants and bars nearby as well.
