My baby rec'd 3 shots for $27. We arrived first thing in the morning, since the clinic was from 9am-12pm on May 2nd. Four Muddy Paws is housed in a strip mall with plenty of parking and there was a bank next door that looked to be closed on Saturday so that accommodated for additional parking. The clinic was held outside in the grassy area, they had a table set up, so it was first come, first serve. The paperwork was simple and they accepted cash or card payments. The wait time wasn't bad, it took us an hour from start to finish and the staff was really nice and loving to the babies and were ready for all types...meaning if your fur-baby was scared or frightened. We rec'd a free cookie from Treats Unleashed for the fur-babies and a $5 gift card. You select the one you want, an associate programs the machine and loads your new tag. Then you take over the keyboard by selecting how many lines you want. The next step is typing what you want on the tag and selecting a font. Final step is proofing and hitting the engrave button. When it's done engraving, you've got a fashionable tag for your new family member. The other item I needed was a coupler. I needed it for the seatbelt restraint. Instead of securing one dog, I now needed to make sure two dogs were safe while riding shotgun. Yesterday Petco had a flood and no customer was allowed in the store…read more I know this because I went to the store to buy a baby ferret and they said no customer was allowed in due to the flood They told me the baby ferret was still in there, and I could come back tomorrow So today I woke up and I got to Petco 10 minutes before they opened so I can be the first one in the store so I can buy this baby ferret Since no customer was allowed in the store yesterday an employee bought the ferret, and it was the same employee who told me to come back the next day to buy the ferret If customers can't come in and buy the animals, I don't think the employees should because I was at Petco yesterday way before the employee even bought the ferret and I was ready to buy the ferret and they told me I couldn't come in due to flooding, but the employee bought the ferret because she was allowed in the store because she was a worker

The front desk staff, the techs, and Dr. Trickel were all amazing and compassionate and treated my bunnies with the utmost care. One of my quad needed a molar trim. If I absolutely had to say one negative thing is that the wait time was a little long But that said it is a hospital and they take emergency patients so I can say if I have an emergency I would want them to take my baby right away. Despite the urgency of the situation, this clinic repeatedly delayed filling critical, life-sustaining prescriptions, leaving us waiting for days just to get a response to our refill requests. When you are watching a sick animal suffer, every hour counts, yet our pleas for updates went ignored. ​ When I requested immediate answers and attempted to hold them accountable for these dangerous administrative failures, the staff chose to deflect blame rather than fix their mistake. They accused me of being "verbally abusive" simply because I was being firm, urgent, and demanding transparency regarding my dying dog's medication. ​Advocating fiercely for a terminally ill pet who cannot speak for themselves is not abuse--it is a response to severe negligence. Medical delays and massive counting errors (when they finally filled one of the medications, they shorted us an entire 25 days' worth of pills) are entirely unacceptable when dealing with end-of-life care. I cannot trust a clinic that handles critical prescriptions so carelessly and treats grieving, desperate pet owners with such defensiveness.

I liked her when I brought Sophia, so when they asked me if I wanted the same vet for Princess, I immediately said, yes. I like the personalized services that Heartland provides. First you're called into the consulting room and a vet tech ask all the prep questions. When they exit the room, they report to the vet so when she comes in, she already is well informed about your pet and what the visit is about. Dr. Kristen entered the room and congratulated me on the new adoption. She briefly asked me a few more questions, before exiting with Princess to the exam room. When she returned, she praised Princess's good behavior and gave her a good health report. Being a Chihuahua, her only issue was some tartar on her teeth. She recommended OraVet as a treat to help clean up and keep the tartar away. I'm picky about the veterinarian who cares for my fur-babies and Heartland checks all the boxes. For someone who has always had one to three dogs at a time for the last thirty years, it was like going through withdrawal. Once I rescued/adopted a new fur-baby, her new vet recommended a couple of different brands of food. She did not recommend the one that the rescue group had been feeding her. Since her new vet is in Edwardsville and I had good luck here with Sprites food, I came back. I checked out all three of the brands that the new vet recommended and went with, Royal Canin. I liked the smaller bag, since Sophia is a small dog. That way the food will stay fresh and I can just buy more frequently. Plus, the price point is very affordable. The store is well organized and for a store that allows pets, it always smells clean.
