We came here on a summer Friday, and the backyard was surprisingly empty. Maybe we were here too early? In any case, food was generally very good, although I think authenticity varied based on the order. We started with the Kathmandu poppers - basically a mirchi pakoda, but served with a chipotle mayo. A somewhat unmemorable dish for me, but maybe I'm just mad that it burned my mouth. Next we had the jhol momo, served in a well-spiced soupy sauce. The momos were tasty, although I can't imagine broccoli is part of the traditional filling in Nepal. We finished with the khana set, basically a thali, and my favorite part of the meal. Best restaurant in Ridgewood. Not kidding. I've tried almost all of them in a few months. Never heard one person talk bad about this place. I've brought restaurant people here and they're like "oh damn." Food takes time so keep that in mind. Best items to me are: Momos. (Dumplings) Must get. Any of them. My fav is the pork ones. Shrimp and veggie ones are all stellar too. Best veggie dish is the Aloo Gobi Paratha. A mix of the best veggies sides with an awesome stuffed naan. Their skewered chicken is amazing. It's either as a platter or as a side. Get the side. I don't care for the sides as much with the platter. Make sure it's the skewered chicken. Perfectly charred and oh so juicy. My go-to's are the Not A Taco (used to be a much bigger portion), Cheesy Nan Bread (last two times I ordered had much less cheese than in the past), Spicy Masala Wings (OMG spicy!), Pork Momos (the momos and broth are so flavorful), and of course the Alfredo (add chicken and take half home for leftovers) which is such a creamy, abundant treat! Such a great Nepali spot in Queens. If you usually end up choosing Indian food for lunch or dinner this is such a great alternative. Being able to experience a different cuisine was such a great experience. I felt like this was the closest I could travel to Nepal. Highly recommend this delicious restaurant! We'd been wanting to try this for quite a while and finally did--we had high expectations based on other reviews and they far surpassed what we hoped for. The staff were welcoming, kind and knowledgeable, very happy to share recommendations and checking-in to see if we needed anything. All of the food was really superb with a lot flavor! Since it was our first time I'm glad we tried the chicken khaja platter (the chicken was so tender and full of flavor!) but we'd probably stick to the smaller dishes next time as they're perfect for sharing and you can have more variety. I can recommend this spot enough! Every time I eat here, I'm surprised by how delicious and fresh the food is. My favorites are the chicken and veggie steamed momo, the masala wings and the Not a Taco chicken roti. The momo are served with this amazing sauce and it must contain pink or sichuan peppercorns because the sauce causes a tingly mouth buzz. The wings are super crispy and so so flavorful and the roti was perfectly seasoned. Everything is affordable and full of flavor, and the service is always on point. I love this place. I wish I was familiar with more things on the menu but it's so hard for me not to order the chicken roti "tacos" and/or masala fries because they're so freaking good. The momo is also great and clearly a staple. I imagine it's one of those places where you can't go wrong because the flavors are so interesting and delicious. If you don't walk out of here absolutely stuffed, you're doing it wrong. We tried way too many things and they were all excellent. On the drinks side, the chai is amazing - spicy and warm and perfect. (I think I actually flagged it because it was on some "best chai in NYC" list.) Our favorite foods were the bara (lentil pancake) with egg, which was flavorful and came with delicious cumin potatoes, and the momos (they came doused in an amazing spicy curry sauce that was divine). The choila roti was sort of like a delicious giant roasted chicken taco and was enough to be a small meal by itself. The Kathmandu poppers were fine - spicy and flavorful but not nearly as exciting as the rest of the food. They've recently introduced a bunch of delicious looking goat dishes that I definitely hope to be back to try those. read more

Been coming to this place since I moved to Ridgewood a year ago! Such delicious food, great for vegetarians like me. Definitely get the veggie dumplings for a starter. Hummus and naan are insanely good although I wish they served a larger scoop of hummus, but I guess that makes you appreciate the flavor even more.
