Such a rewarding experience to deal with Whidbeytronics! I've gone there several times over the past year, and each time I come away glad that that is where I went. I am NOT a techie, I do not know much about the devices I use. And yet, most amazlingly, not only do they help me get the most out of the machines, I come away having learned something and not feeling stupid. One thing I espcecially appreciate is how they explain what is wrong, showing me the actual file with the specific informationi about the problem. I am writing this post on the computer, a reconditioned one, that I bought yesterday and into which they managaed to transfer all of my data, including the priceless pictures of our grandchildren and our dog, and all of the many many files that are the makings of a book in progress. I was stupid enough to believe them when they said that the problem with the fan on my hp laptop was caused by broken pieces from the hinges. An hour's labor later, $125, I realize I've been nothing short of ripped off. I know other people have submitted bad reviews for Whidbeytronics, and they've been deleted. Whidbeytronics guy(s) is GREAT. As an older, non-techy person, I have relied on them for years to assist me with all my computer tproblems. They transfer all my programs and data every time I get a new computer, answer and show me solutions to all the hassles and problems that Windows creates for me, suggest but NEVER push additional equipment IF I ask about things. When I asked if I could make an appt for a 1-on-1 technical consult, they told me that I should just come in when it was convenient for ME and they would make time for me, as their time was no more valuable than mine is. It went from weeks to months and they were always available to diagnose and re-diagnose until finally the company recognized an obvious fault and yesterday I received a new computer!! I took an older dell desktop here to deal with the fan working overtime. Long story short, the fellow only charged me 40 dollars to deal with it, but he did nothing to fix it. Also his information is totally wrong. I don't think he has a clue. read more

I'm amazed these guys are still in business. I took my HP laptop to this business because it was intermittently making a grinding noise. The guys there said it was the fan. Cost estimate to fix, one hour labor, plus cost of the fan, which they did not have on hand. guy behind counter suggested that I leave it with them for a couple hours, they might be able to fix it by cleaning up the insides. When I came back, the guy showed me "broken off pieces" that he claimed had been inside the computer that broke off from the hinges, and caused the grinding noise. I am firmly of the opinion that that is impossible, the hinges are not connected to the internal compartment. They are clearly on the exterior of the computer. The computer did not make noise at the time. I was charged $120. Plus tax The noise started up again when I got it home. Called next day, they told me all sales are final,(due to covid, they say!) They offered to work on it further at additional cost. I don't want these guys touching my computer. I feel strongly that this is not a legitimate business. read more
