This makes sense given how humid Honolulu is. We flew with AC and we landed quite late but even at that time of hour, the airport was busy but not too busy. The baggage area is not big but was easy to find. People are quite nice here. We met a local who works at the airport and because we were both going to the bus station, we walked together and had a good chat. Overall, I really enjoyed the trip and the airport visit.

Much easier and don't have to walk or hunt for a restroom as much as before. In Terminal 1, it is nice that got more comfortable furniture to sit on after getting my coffee from the Starbucks. I really do wish there was a better indicator which security checkpoints are open. Especially in the early hours at Terminal 2. Walk one direction, only to find that it is closed, so sometimes have to backtrack to find one that is open. I totally get that at some hours, it may not make sense to staff all the checkpoints if the demand is lower, but it sure would be nice to look at something and it tells me which one I should go to. For the signs on the ground floor that directs people to the ride share and other places, it references the baggage claim numbers. It might be easier if the signs point people the column numbers, as those are highly visible and don't have to hunt for the baggage claim number signs from the street/curb area.

I have seen on later flights the complimentary golf cart but this early in the morning forget it. It's still has the remodeled look after all these years and unlike airports like LAX, the restrooms work and don't smell. Plus outlet are all over the place. Overall five stars. There isn't too many food stands open at 5am, I'm taking to you Dunkin' Donuts but BK and Starbucks is available. Just take out a small loan :p M

I had dropped or left my wallet accidentally there, in search of the Uber pick-up spots which were located elsewhere. Needless to say the security in the downstairs arrivals areas weren't so helpful and they kept telling me to talk to and refer to another person inside and outside. Nobody actually assisted me with searching for my lost/ stolen wallet. Finally I talked with a Officer in the area, who took down the description of my lost item and gave me their "lost & found" number. Today (09/29/2026) I come to give a huge shout-out and my biggest gratitude and THANK YOU to the supervisor/ worker with the Hawaiian Airlines: Dani Dolan-Decker. She was persistent, determined, and genuine in ensuring that my wallet was returned to me. She said she noticed it at Gate A15 Terminal 1, somehow someone must've brought it upstairs. Dani called the USO and somehow got a hold of certain military personal based on my CAC and was able to get in contact through our tight-nit community to reach me and have me come to claim my wallet. I am forever blessed that Dani Dolan-Decker came to the rescue and ensured I was reunited with my wallet. ALL my cards were still there, my iD's, my CAC and my $173 were still inside my wallet when she handed it to me at the Airport.

Despite the lack of happenings here you can find some food and drink stops including Starbucks. Also for United club members there is a club. Luggage came out in a decent amount of time. Rental car garage is right across the street so no bus is needed! The car rental center looks new. Don't forget when you leave, you have to go through Agriculture security.

Honolulu Airport Transfer didn't charge per person, flat rate for us and our luggage. On time in both directions. Reasonable rate for a guaranteed pick-up. I might save $10 using Lyft or Uber, but I have had a few issues with drivers dropping the ride. I am not taking any chances when it's a flight. Using this service is a game changer!

I guess I haven't used this waiting area recently. I usually leave for the airport at the arrival time of the flight. By the time I get to the airport, the person has already collected their luggage at the carousel and is on the sidewalk. They just have to tell me the pillar number that's next to them. Note: currently, Terminal 1 is Hawaiian Airlines and Terminal 2 is basically everyone else except Mokulele Airlines. Also: For Terminal 1 Arrivals area, International flights are first and United Airlines is at the end - about pillar number 61. Welcome to the Aloha State!
