We got off this at this terminal from the Princess cruise ship. The arrival process was easy but…read moreran into problems. We had two days of getting off the ship. The first day, all we had to do was scan our medallion and made sure we had our ID with us. The first night had no curfew because we were staying at night in Honolulu. Leaving the ship is no security check. But when you come back there is security check. You go through this big and spacious inside terminal where they have the history of Hawaii and momental Hawaii museum art in the terminal. It's definitely nice to take pictures and good to catch some AC to cool down since Hawaii is so humid. They have a 4 lane drop off and pick up area where people are working to direct the traffic. They also have strict rules of not allowing any fruits or dairy products onto the ship. We came back around 10pm. It was easy since no traffic. We have to scan your medallion and show ID to get back on the ship. Your bags are put through security and we got to be back on the ship. The second day we had only had a day and our curfew to be back on the ship was 4:30-5pm. It's the same process you exit and enter. Expect this time I was a little irritated that I was bringing back some Leonard's bakery Malasadas and the security was so strict about me not having food back on the ship. I was annoyed because they said no fruit or dairy. This was pastries. But the security guy accent was so thick I could not understand so he told I can throw it away or eat before I walk in. He also told me to hold my water bottle next time because it tipped over on the scanner. I ate some of baked pastries but I was getting too full so I had to toss the rest. So sad. I would have given this place 4-5 stars if they weren't so weird about the food since in the announcement they said nothing else about food just the other items mentioned earlier. But this was disappointing.

After our tour we felt confident to rent a car and go back to some of our fav spots from the tour. Everyone should do this on their first time in Oahu so you learn all of the unique hawaii spots and actually get to soak it all in because it is just you and your friends/family. We called to inquire about appointment times and the employee told us that the last tour leaves Waikiki at 4:30 p.m. They do not have their own designated parking lot so we opted to park at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, while planning to eat dinner at one of the restaurants after this bus tour. It was a short easy walk to meet the air conditioned tour bus along Royal Hawaiian Ave. near the former DFS Galleria. Basically, you pay in advance on their website and just show up at the bus that's waiting curbside. The host greeted us and checked Rod's ticket confirmation/receipt before he showed us to the best seats on the bus (bigger windows). When all the ticket holders arrived and boarded the bus, we were asked to fasten our seat belts. He then showed us how to adjust our Virtual Reality headsets to our comfort. Once the headsets were on, the host taught us how to take photos during the tour. With your right hand, you clench your fist, and that signals the headset to screen shot the Virtual Reality scene that is currently displayed. Take note, the best full screen Virtual imagery is towards the end of the bus tour. So if you are gung ho and snapping a bunch of pictures in the beginning, you may run out of memory space. The VR headset will stop taking pictures once you've reached the storage capacity. After leaving Royal Hawaiian Ave., the bus route includes driving by Kapiolani Park, Diamond Head, and back onto Ala Wai before pulling up to Royal Hawaiian Ave. The VR scenery changes from deep ocean with moving marine life, an erupting volcano, and a floral realm, to a paradise skyline complete with rainbows and fireworks. After the tour, you will receive an email with a link and password to download the images captured by your VR headset. Thank you Rod for this fun time!

I recently took a group of 62 employees to Hawaii for a week-long company vacation, and I couldn't…read morehave done it without the help of Hawaii State Tours!! David and his team gave our company once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and I am forever grateful to them. We started our week with the Experience Nutridge luau, which is hands-down the best luau I've experienced. It's much more authentic than the typical luaus around the island. We were hosted as a private group, which automatically made our employees feel very special and taken care of. Throughout the night, we experienced immersive and true Hawaiian culture; we weren't stuck in our seats all night, but instead, we were welcomed and encouraged to explore the property, take part in the cooking, and truly soak in the traditional dances and cultural activities. The employees are still raving about it! The next day, David and his team took us on an 8-hour, customized tour of the island. Every part of this was so fun and immersive! It wasn't a boring tour where we were stuck on the bus the entire time - we got to explore several spots around the island, take time for photos, and hear David's personal stories from each point of the island. Even our bus driver was phenomenal. She had a story for every moment of the drive! On Tuesday (day 3), our group was taken to Pearl Harbor to see the Arizona Memorial. Before entering the Welcome Center, we were taken on a Honolulu drive around the city and given a private lunch at Restaurant 604, overlooking Pearl Harbor - so stunning. Once we were inside the memorial grounds, we were given personal audio devices which we could use in the museums, around the memorial campus, and on the Arizona Memorial - the devices helped to give us context as to what we were viewing. David helped to arrange everything, so we didn't have to worry about a single thing. It was all ready to go when we arrived! The next day (day 4), our group was shuttled to Hanauma Bay. We were provided with snorkel gear and entrance fee money, so once again, our group didn't have to worry about single thing. It was all taken care of! On the last day of our trip, David and his Hawaii State Tours team took us to Kualoa Ranch where we boarded custom 16-passenger jeeps for the "Jungle Jeep Tour" around the ranch. The tours were approximately 90-minutes long, and they took us through the jungle of O'ahu where many films and tv shows have been shot. My favorite part was the stunning view of the ocean from the property's elevated areas. Later that day, our company ended our week-long trip by having a sunset dinner cruise aboard the Majestic. We had an all-inclusive buffet and a consumption bar tab. It was the perfect way to end the week - sunset views and fireworks! Throughout this process, David and his team were so kind and open to us, even when we changed our minds a million times. Going to HI during a pandemic is tricky enough. Navigating all the rules and guidance from airlines to airports and beyond is stressful. Both guys made our trip something we will remember, for sure! Even though we couldn't do some of the events on our original itinerary (we were supposed to go in March '20 but our trip was cancelled because HI shut everything down), they still provided us with a great experience - private luau, catamaran sail, beach time, two driving tours, Kualoa ranch, hotel with Waikiki beach within a block). I can't stress enough how hard they worked to provide a great trip for our group, despite the challenges of co-orinating a tour of 30 people when most places were only allowing in groups of five or no one at all. On days when they didn't have things planned, they were offering advice on places to go, excursions to take, markets to visit, restaurants to eat at, etc. If our group goes again, we'll definitely be travelling with the help of Hawaii State Tours!
