and the man was refusing to allow them to have two boats. The kids had to call me to intervene until the man gave them two boats. The man said the F-word to the kids on the first boat and dropped the head shade so it fell on their heads. The kids were shocked. He said the F- word again to the kids on the 2nd boat as he helped them inside the boat. He was not professional. Did not wait for the kids to completely board the boat, get settled or sit before pushing them away. I understand it's a pandemic. We are all stressed. I brought a bunch of depressed teenagers out to have fun. There's was no need for such an angry and aggressive reaction over a child's ripped mask when you had more behind the counter. We need to be kinder to one another. You see a mother alone with 5 children the day before Christmas at the park. Have some compassion. Have some grace. I was not rude for a second and was polite and kid and thanked the employee the entire time. I'm sure he is having a difficult time in his life. We can never judge another human for we are not in his shoes. May the lord have mercy on his soul. However, as the owner of this boat rental, I would want a different type of person working here. Someone who would provide better costumer service, not drive away business and someone who would not be a liability. read more

This review is for the bike rentals and not the boats! I am actually super disappointed in the boats. I was trying to get a boat at 3:15pm and they had shut the gates. When I asked they said they were finished for the day and there were no more boats. Um, they aren't supposed to shut till 3:30 and there were boats. So anyway, we decided to go check out the bikes. There I found 2 available bikes and Jacob! He was awesome. He explained the differences in the 2 bikes available and helped me figure out how to work it. Such a beautiful park. It's huge. There's a ton of lush green grass where you can nap or picnic. And convenient street vendors with tasty ice cream or street corn. I came with my nieces and nephews and they had a blast, but this is also a super cute idea for a date. Go here and enjoy! read more

We had some time to kill before heading up to a party in Ventura, so this way we came. $10 per person per hour. You can get your own boat, or you can have a partner and pedal with someone else. And even though they're not hard on you with making you bring the boat back EXACTLY in an hour, don't be that asshole. Have fun and bring the boat back in timely fashion. People are waiting. (I'm not sure if kids under a certain age get to ride free, so ask.) It has a stirring wheel...and It's kinda like driving a car, so turn the way that you want the boat to go. The ones up in San Francisco were absolutely confusing...if you want to go left, you have to turn right. But THESE boats ain't about that confusing bullshit. They make WAY more sense than the ones in San Francisco. Get some sun. Burn some calories. Have some fun. read more

For the four of us, my two college-age kids and my 12 year old and I, it was a fun activity!! The Lake is not too big but then again, it's hard to go go real fast. Good thing for the shade over us or it might have been unbearably hot. $6 for my 12 year old was great, $11 for the adults was getting a bit pricey but the exercise and fun time on the lake was worth it. Definitely recommend it if you have never paddled out on the lake before. Do NOT expect to go fast and DO expect to do a lot of pedaling if you are the adult with kids who can't reach the pedals. read more

Be wary of the wind! The day I went it wasn't even that windy. It was sunny, in the mid-70's, and just a gorgeous day, so when I headed out on the paddle boat, I was enjoying the cool breeze and the scenery, the different types of birds, people playing with their remote controlled toy boats, but on the way back? I swear, no matter how hard I peddled, I couldn't get my big a$$ swan to budge! At one point, I was staring at the boat house's phone number that's on a sticker by the joystick and wondering "Am I seriously going to have to call these guys and tell them that I'm stranded in the middle of this little lake?!" Fortunately, the wind let up and I made it back within the hour, but I'm exhausted! I don't think I've pedaled so hard in my life, but even now I can't help but laugh! Super fun for everyone! We arrived at 10:30 and by the time we were got off it was above 90 degrees! I would def recommend going super early or later in the day. I think the time we got there was just perfect! So affordable and you can bring snacks with you!! or you can save the snacks and have a picnic afterward at the park! Such a nice park! Only bad thing I have to say is that the young guys working there do not have good service. They try to get you in and out. I asked one if they could take a picture and he said no. Very cool lake! They close early due to earlier sunsets. Parking is plenty and the run/walk around the lake is 2 miles. Perfect for practicing for 5Ks/half marathons! There are lots of ducks and fish, saw folks fishing there and there seem to be many people exercising there after work hours. 4 instead of 5 stars due to some sketchy people and homeless. :-( read more

So much fun!! Was $11 per adult for an hour to rent a swan boat. There were boats seating 4 or 5. this would be such a fun activity for kids! You peddle around the lake yourself. Plenty of ducks and geese and swans around. The swan boats are new. They used to be these older boats but with this new company they're brand new and swan shaped! OMG...It was so much fun.... I took the kids here on spring break and they absolutely loved it.. There was ample parking and it was super easy to find. We specifically went to use the pedal boats, since we had seen the ones at Echo Park.. Let me say..it was so much fun...there was plenty of ducks and geese and the lake was beautiful...complete with a little waterfall.. Really bad service and not great staff. Me and my boyfriend wanted to rent a swan boat and the young man gave us a rude attitude and said it was closed due to not having enough boats. That same staff member was also rude to another old lady with a young girl. Five minutes later another worker lets 3 families go 10+ people but there wasn't enough for 2? Keep in fact that we were there before those families. That was so unfair and would not recommend other to go through that. read more
